I have received several calls about a check that they say I wrote.  I write VERY FEW checks.  Same thing about wanting to verify information.  Ask me about someone else.  Tell them that is not me.  They want to continue to ask questions.  Keep telling me that I know this person.  Whether I do or not is none of their business and not my business either!  When I ask to speak with a supervisor or to not call me anymore they hang up on me.  I reported them to the Kansas Attorney General but am informed there is little they can do (even though the calls are harrassing and they will not cease to call me.)  The KS AG suggests a certified return receipt letter to them advising not person they are looking for and to cease calling me.  This however opens the door for them with my name and address and they already have my phone number.  In my situation, I think the only thing I can do is hire a private attorney and/or change my phone number.  What a shame that a consumer has to go thru this that has absolutely no business with them.  I refuse to give them my personal information.  They have already shown they are scandalous by being disrespectful and pushy.  I will not feed into their game.  Let them sue me then I can countersue with damages, real and punitive.

I keep getting messages from some outfit reportedly called FFG & Associates about confirming information on a check that I wrote.  When I called back, I was told that Joseph was a computer and she wanted information about my telephone number.  I told her the number I was calling from was the number upon which I was called.  She said she had no file with that telephone number.  I get calls from these people at least 3 - 5 times a week on my business phone.  I have no outstanding debts.  I pay all bills, both personal and business, in a timely manner and have an excellent credit score.  I want these calls to stop.

**** these scamers i told them i would give them the money if they wanted to come to my front door and get it. he declined ------ although i wish he would. i live in the south and we love to shoot our guns and exercise our right to bare arms.

Do not respond to FFG & Associates "Joseph" at 866-443-6985, but follow this link or contact your phone company and report this abuse.  It is unlawful for any company to falsely accuse you of a wrong doing you never committed.  Always ask, "What company do you represent?" "What is the case number match it with your own legitimate files. Always keep a journal of the dates and times of these abusive phone calls and report them immediately.

This company FFG and associates contacted me with the same message from a "Joseph" regarding a check that "I" wrote.  Upon contacting them after several weeks of harassing phone calls they inform me that they are trying to get a hold of a friend of mine whom I have no contact with and did not put my number down as a reference ever before. They assured me my number would be taken off of their call list.  The phone calls never stopped. They next day I call them back and threaten to report them to the FTC and a rude associate gets all ghetto with me saying I obviously don't know the law when I actually do know the law very well, and they are definitely  now in violation of it.   Upon asking to speak with a supervisor after the rude associate kept cutting me off and denying that I knew what I was talking about he flat out refused to transfer me to a supervisor.  I hung up and called back directly asking for a supervisor.  The girl on the phone would not talk with me unless I gave her my name and number. I did so and she got a supervisor for me who was just as rude and would not listen to what I had to say about their harassing phone calls.  She then told me that she did not want to listen to me and she asked that I get off the phone and never call her company again.  I was very upset and now am feeling quite violent.  I will be doing everything in my power to bring this company down and file a complaint.  Either that or lash out at all my innocent co-workers.  I'm really angry!!!!

I would like to know who this Joseph is stating he is with FFG and ASSOCIATES and he is calling regarding a check that I wrote to them and needs to verify information for security purposes.  I have NOT written a check to these people. Thank you for your assistance on this matter.

Thank you so much for this page.  "Joseph" has been calling me, too, and I had a weird feeling about it because of the lack of info so I wanted to see if I could find the company online and the first thing that popped up under google search was "FFG and Associates fraud".

I have gotten repeated calls from this Number, regarding a " Bad Check they have"  The name they gave me is Clay Ronald Patton, who is my son.  He does not live here and we are not aware of any check.  We have given this information to person named Joseph.  We don't have any checks out and have asked them to please not call here again.  They continue to call and harassess us. We have no control over the person they say they are looking for.  When we call and ask for Joseph we are told we cannot talk with him, a very rude woman who gives her name as Suzanne, gets on the phone and starts talking when we try to tell her we are not the person she is trying to reach, she just continues to talk,  Will not listen to what we have to say.  Today 07/26/20010, she made my husband mad and he was rude back to her.  I called back to try to explain that we were not who she was looking for and she wouldn't listen to me either.  I told her not to call us again, she said our son had given us this number and that I could not keep her from calling.  I asked for the address there and she would not give it to me.  I called back and the man who answered the phone gave me  631 North Stephanie  Henderson, Nev. 89014.  I asked to speak to her superior he said he would connect me. Suzanne got back on the phone and I told her I did not want to talk with her.  She said her superiors were in a meeting.  I hung up

Called from 201-266-5353 (Englewood NJ)...picked up, seemingly recorded message came on about 15 secs into the call from (you guessed it) Joseph saying he was calling about a check that he had to verify information on for security purposes. Left 866-443-6985 as the call back number. I think it's funny that these calls originate from all over the country. Makes me wonder if these are the same asshats who keep calling for a coworker regarding a "legal matter"... wish they'd stop trying.

NEVER give out your social over the phone, ESPECIALLY when you don't know who you're talking to!

Funny, I live in the 702 area code of  Las Vegas and have gotten two calls from this "Joseph" about check issues.  The number I get on my voicemail is from a New Jersey area code.

I am getting these calls saying they are calling me as a security precaution about a check I wrote, but I very seldom write checks as I pay bills on line.  The few checks I have written have all cleared.

How can I stop these harassing calls 2-3 times a day!

What they are doing is ILLEGAL.  Debt collectors are required to make just that statement to identify themselves.

Perhaps we can contact the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Government about their harassing and ILLEGAL activity!

I have just received 2 calls from "Joseph" leaving a message for me to call him regarding a check that I wrote.  I thought that was odd as I have never had a problem with writing checks in the past.  I went on line to see who FFG and Associates is. I have instructed my staff to save any message fro him.

This is a wireless number. I can't believe they call with their cell phones. It is obviously a whole network of scammers in different areas.

So if anyone deos call back make sure you block your number by pressing *67 before calling their number. And be sure you do not give them your information.

Let me guess, they didn't know what company you owed money to until you revealed it to them. Then they acted like they knew already and pursued you for the money.

22 Jun 2009I have received several calls from a Joseph at FFG with a call back number of 1-866-443-6985 but the number 702-463-7934 shows up on caller ID. The reason given seems to be the same for all the calls this company makes which is “about a check you have written and needing to verify information for security purposes.” I have not called them back and have absolutely no intention of doing so.

The company is Vegalo LLC dba Frontier Financial Group aka FFG Associates. As stated earlier by SmartDiva on 04/20/09, this company is illegally operating as a collection agency. I spoke with the above named division and was told to file a formal complaint against FFG. They also said if I do speak with someone at FFG, to remind them of the order issued against them. Perhaps the fine this company received isn’t enough to deter their behavior. I receieved the same call last night from a joseph I told him that the person he was looking for was my mother and could I help him she is currently in the hospital he said no, it is just about a check she wrote and I am sure she will want to hear about this matter.  I told him that my mother does not have a checking account and that quick he changed his story and said "Mam" you are not hearing me it is about a check I have lying here and she needs to contact me, he was like I did not say it was about a check she wrote I said yes you did and he got really defensive I told him I was tracing the call and reporting the number to the BBB right now.  That was the third phone call I ignored the first two.

Second day in a row I've received phone calls (answering machine) from "Joseph" from FFG & Associates regarding a check I wrote and to please call him to verify information for "security purposes" 1-866-443-6985. He's is calling from 201-266-5323. I haven't answered or returned their call. I write only a couple of checks a month and they have all cleared, I checked my credit report each year and everything is good. The message does not say who they are looking for so my guess is they are just using an automatic dialer and if you have a voice mail you get a message.
