Recorded message..."Hey, it's Joe from Harbor Freight."  I let my machine take the call. Being on the DNC list does nothing!

Got a call from 866-469-3328 and I answered and got a recording offering $3 month health insurance and free dental. Asked me to press 1 for more info or 2 to be removed from the list. I pressed neither. Did I mention they called on my company provided cellular phone number so they must have dialed me randomly. They suck!

" Being on the DNC list does nothing! "'

It does.... It lets you sue up to 5k in your own small claims court and judges are very sympathetic to people suing telescum.

Odd, it was a recording from a vendor we use for a giant "parking lot" sale. I called our IT guy and he said that these calls are from a mass marketing service anyone can use them that's why they can be from many different companies.

My wife got a call on her cellphone with recorded message about repeatedly trying to reach us, indicating there was a problem with our credit card, and presented us with dialing menu.  We hung up!

We are also on state and federal DNC lists..............

    shhhhhew..
yeah, these clowns called me today about refinancing my credit cards for a better rate.  i asked how they got my p#.  they replied they obtained it from my credit card company.  i said which one.  she didn't really have a descent answer.  she then proceeded to ask how much debt i had on cc's and how i spelled my last name.  i asked how was it spelled on her screen.  again, not even a fraction of an answer was provided.  i made up a name and an address.  she then asked if my major cc was visa/mc/am?  i replied, 'well don't you already know this you're working for my cc company?' she then wanted the cc number and i was 'wo? what?'  i asked her to just mail me something.  obviously she couldn't since she was calling from a call center....etc.  as the conversation progressed i got agrier w/ each question at how suspect this was.  this kind of stuff is just rediculous.  a previous post noted that they advised them they were calling a law firm.  i think that's a pretty nice response.  i'll use that next time.    oh, forgot to mention.  apparently she was calling from 'financial solutions'.

This number crops up on my cell phone about once a week in the afternoon.  I never answer it and they never leave a message.   apparently, others have answered and say it's about car warranties.  This is annoying.

that posters guide is pretty nice with it took me like 12 Minutes to get the company name , another 2 to get their physical address and another 5 minutes to find their agent in my state to fire off a demand letter to sue them and I found my county you can file a small claims suit online , so I am going to sue them , enough is enough !

These guys called me twice this morning on my business cell saying my warranty was going to expire.  Both times I pressed 1 to speak with a rep (pressing 2 in the multiple prior calls to remove from the list didn't work).  The first time, I asked them what my name was and what model of car my warranty is expiring on (I have a 2009 Mazda CX-9 and a 2008 Ford F150 Kings Ranch - warranty is good for another 4 years on the F150 and until 2014 on the Mazda).  The guy said he didn't know and asked me what I had and what my name was so he could look it up.  I then began to press him about how they knew my warranty was expiring when they don't know what kind of vehicle(s) I have (I'm a prick when it comes to telemarketers), and then he hung up.  The second time they called me I did the same thing and then told them I had a 1976 Impala (my first car when I was 16) and was willing to get their extended warranty.  First thing they asked me for was my name, address, and then credit card #.  I asked them if they wanted proof of insurance and was told that they didn't need that.  I then told them that I worked for Federal Law Enforcement and the guy just cussed me out and then hung up.  Then, tonight, I received a call again from the same number.  I told them I am I was an attorney and they hung up.  I called 18772845054 and the mailbox is full.  I will be contacting the State Attorney General on Monday regarding this.  This is a definite scam; these guys need to be slammed hard.

Well, the people calling aren't exactly right, but I vote for the owners of the solication companies to die since they are the ones profiting and paying people minimum wage to harass us. =} They shouldn't be allowed to harass people and now they even call and text cellular phones which is complete b.s. There needs to be a class action lawsuit since the FCC won't be bothered with stopping the harassment and wasting of peoples' cellular minutes and time.

I agree with those other posts that tell you to file complaints with not only the FTC, but the Atty Gen office of your home state. It only takes a few minutes of your time, and also keep a list of callers numbers so you know who is calling you at any given time. I also keep an email folder so the FTC sends me a confirmation of my complaints - I do not use the Do Not Call list to file my complaints anymore - I use the regular FTC website... If we all did this, it would make things move more quickly!

Thanks for the information about the Attorney General. I formerly complained to the FCC about companies harassing me and they couldn't be bothered with handling them. It's good to know that the Attorney General might take action against the harassment. I've been harassed by these numbers 718-833-9999 , 866-469-3328 and 850-230-0534 . If you get calls from any of those nasty harassers, please contact the attorney general to report them! Thanks!!

The DNCR hasn't done a thing to stop calls to cell phones. I still get the same calls from the same numbers no matter how many months I call the DNCR and I call every 30 days.
