- SCAM ALERTAfter more digging into this number and similar numbers and additional fraud information.
RCMP advise:
1. Collect as much information as possible about the caller.
2. Do not give out any information on yourself with regards to credit cards, etc.
3. Call your bank through a known number, like the one on the back of your card.

The most important thing to understand is never give personal information unless you have initiated the phone call to a known and trusted bank number (back of Credit Card).
The scammers are the ones posting to this blog and others saying "Pay your bills!" or some other phrase to that effect. - the real realityi simply called the number. it is TD Canada Trust.
if you call it and press 1 to speak to rep then tell them you are getting calls
they can look up the reason it is calling you based on your phone number.
i recommend this as it could be important
in my case it was a mistake. my number used to be owned by somebody else and TD wants to speak to them. (ahem mr. reality)
by calling them, they realized the issue and removed the number from that profile.- Caller: TD Canada Trust
- Call type: Debt collector
- Di| 1 replyThe caller id says TD Bank but they leave no messages. Since when does a legit business operate that way? So I did my own research and found the following information of the origins of this number
city/town- Vrjayawada
State - Andhra Pradish
Country - India
Land line operator- Bharti Airtel
Remember at no point has it displayed TDCanadaTrust Bank/Services as it is known as now. It has been presumed.
Just saying.- Caller: TD Bank
- PhishingI got called by this number twice, only picked up the first time.
The caller asked for my mother not for me, which was the first give away. My mother lives in another country and hasn't been in this one in 4 years.
I asked what it was in reference to and he said a personal banking matter. I handle my mom's banking since she left the country so I know her details.
I pressed him to give me information on which account, he said he couldn't. It was a trip my mother has no accounts with TD except a joint account with my name on it as well. However the caller said it was only under her name.
When I called the number it does sound like a TD answering machine but that means nothing.
The part that doesn't match is why ask for her name with my number. The real TD would have my contact and account information to confirm I have power of attorney. Yet they called my number expecting only her.
We've been with TD for 20 years and they've never made mistakes with out accounts.- Caller: TD BANK
- Call type: Debt collector
- Sarah| 1 replyThis number is a scammer, I've been receiving phone calls for over a week now from them, i answer and a heavy accented women always talks. I ask who she is, and she hangs up and if i call back there is no answer and no voice mail set up.
I went on my online banking and saw that there were a few actions with my credit card that I hadn't done.
I received a phone call from the real TD number and they left a message to contact them.
A gas station i went to recently just got caught for scamming and stealing pin numbers. You're also at a huge risk with online banking. If you're receiving calls from this number i recommend you call the real TD as soon as possible and change all of your information/pins/cards. Especially around Christmas Season.
Good luck!- Caller: Fraud TD
- Jennifer replies to mrs. shirley balls| 2 repliesThey actually don't call Sundays. It's the past due payment office and aren't even open Sundays. Just check that all your minimum payments are made and the call will stop 😊
- Mr blocked your number| 5 repliesAll I did was black the number because I was getting it on my phone as well as my wife's. I've been 1(866)485-5354 calling free for about 2 weeks and my life has changed. Lol but seriously call your provider and ask that the number be blocked :) good luck
- Caller: Just said number in display
- Pauline replies to Mr blocked your number| 4 repliesI have talked to someone who works there and it is the payment office...maybe a missed visa bill...maybe a deposit needed in a bank account who knows...but they are just there to let you know and they want to TALK to you not your voicemail because they can actually help you...i know it's hard for some of you to understand as it seems like just angry negative people post here...just my 2 cents but if you call it back...it can stop further calls from them...
- Me replies to Kai| 3 repliesThey are not spoofing numbers - do you seriously think that an organization the size of TD only has one outgoing number?
These calls ARE from TD. - MichntyMy husband just called this number back & it is INDEED TD Canada Trust payment office. They were calling to let us know that a payment on a card (that we no longer use) was overdue by a bit. They knew EVERYTHING including the last digits on our card and even listed off other cards that we had with them & what the balance was on all of them. This is 100% NOT a scam!!!

- FEDUPThey called a friend of mine to tell him to call them.

- JohnThis number calls you if you've missed a payment. Oddly I picked up and they hung up, must be a glitch but I've received a call from this number before for the same reason and was reminded to make a payment after I had forgotten.
A lot of people on here don't know what they're talking about and sound like crazies making some theories about who's calling. Some have phone numbers previously used by TD account holders which would explain the calls.
Just do some simple research and don't jump to conclusion.- Caller: TD Canada Trust
- Call type: Debt collector
- JigsawConfirmed this is TD Canadatrust number. Called back and talked to one of their agent. He asked my number and figured out their is an overdue payment on my wife's credit card. Give them another time frame for calling back and speaking to my wife directly.
- Caller: TD CanadaTrust
- Call type: Debt collector
- Canada replies to JessIt could be someone else at your house, try giving it a call and asking the agent who they are calling for, that should en the calls
- canada replies to Chrismaybe because they co signed on a loan or just a a new number that was on file with the bank. If they are calling you a few times a day take a minute pick one up. see whats it is about that should stop the calls. They are a business they wont waste time calling you a 4 times a day if its not something relevant to you or that number
- anon replies to Pauline| 2 repliesYou must have deliberately overlooked the fact that people HAVE called the number back and were placed on terminal hold. What we don't understand is how you can come here and shill for them?!
- canada replies to DiThey probably cant leave a detailed message because of Canadian privacy laws-- who knows who will listen to the voicemail..
- fredrix replies to anon| 1 replyI think its legit, heres the number on their website. http://www.td.com/to-our-customers/tdhelps/#p ... 7Cvid=c032b0218 my guess is a dialer system
