This is a legit call from TD's debt collector. I exceeded credit limit of my visa card so they called me to pay up the amount I exceeded.

The operator (or representative) asked me some questions on the phone to verify my identity. And when I asked him about my other personal information he could give the right answer. And after all, he was able to tell me the exact amount of the money I owed the bank when I was checking my bank account online with my other cellphone. So this can't be a scammer or something.

I know some people were saying that when they picked up their phones, the other side was just deadly silent. I've encountered this kind of situation as well. This could be something caused by the auto dialing system and it's really annoying. But hey, if you didn't owe them anything, why would the system put you on the calling list?

Of course this could "be a scammer or something". It's called phone number spoofing. Never give a caller personal information.  If they claim there is a problem with your bank acvount or ctedit card, hang up immediately and call the number on the back of your card.

    You're an idiot.
Phone TD Canada Trust and ask them.  It is TD Canada Trust.

The fact the person you spoke with has an accent just means that the calls are outsourced.

Didn't get a call from them but did get a letter for debt settlement with this number listed as contact.  Searched it and it's from India.  Sounds like a scam, beware of giving any information to them.

from 866-485-5354  left a message saying call from TD bank and to call them back.
We did not.  A day or 2 before was an other call or message  from "Revenue Department" and told my new Canadian wife to call back Coleen at 1 888-246-2849 . Next day my wife called and she was asked her marriage date and her social insurance number and she did. It was obviously a scam. The date of marriage correct but out of Canada that they did not ask, because marriage certificates likely can copy and manipulate.  I believe that maybe from India or other countries that explore opportunities for scamming.

Called me twice a day over the last couple days. Had some time to call back and it went to the "TD" help line. Waited until someone picked up. No greeting, just whats your phone number, name, security questions. When I told her I called the number back that called me and wanted to know the reason she just said "Come into the branch and we can help you". Yeah, don't give them any information. That's not TD.

Seems like this scam is back.  Probably because of all the COVID stress.  They called and left a message for my wife, they even knew her name.  I called back and it sounds like a legit TD Canada Trust automated attendant, but it is odd that they give you only two options to sellect from.  When you make the sellection the phone disconnects.

These turkeys have called my mobile telephone at least 16 times in the past two weeks. They never leave a message.

I am not their client and owe them nothing.

From https://mobile.twitter.com/TD_Canada/status/318002181032775680 it looks like this is TD.

I've sent them a cease-and-desist letter by registered mail. If any more of these calls come in, and I have to both pay to receive them and pay Freedom Mobile to change my number if these calls don't stop, I may very well pay a visit to small claims court to collect any expenses these calls have cost - as directing this sort of harassment against uninvolved third parties is negligence at best (which is actionable) and a wilful nuisance at worst.

There have also been a couple of SMS messages which showed up from TD which had the first six ******* and last four digits of a payment card number which belonged to a TD Visa client - who is not me, as I don't bank with TD. They were sent to the same mobile number as all of the dead-air/hangup calls.

I've had the number since 12 August 2020. TD needs to stop calling me.
