Threatning to take legal action that legally cannot be taken, or threatning to file suit without following through is a violation of the FDCPA.  No one should be harrassed, regardless of whether you owe money or not.  Send them a letter advising them that they are no longer  to call you, but only communicate by mail.  Send it registered mail, return receipt requested.  Debt collector that abuse and violate the law should be called on it and the violations should be reported.  The best thing to do is be calm, don't let them get to you, and make sure you are well informed of your rights.  Despite what some may say on this board, even people in debt have rights, and it is NOT ok for debt collectors to abuse them.

    tx debt attorney,
Good for you!  It sounds as though you have been foturnate enough to not have experienced financial hardship.  Unfortunately, not everyone is so lucky. Not everyone is in debt because they are dead beats.  I can't begin to tell you how sorry I feel for people who are so judgemental like you.  There's nothing like kicking people when they are down.  I hope that if you ever do have financial troubles, or God forbid, a serious illness that forces you into bankruptcy, that people are kinder to you than you have been to others on this board.

Receiving the same rude and obnoxious calls from the Coleman law firm in reference to bills my ex husband owes (bills generated after we were divorced)and being harrassed with the same old lame threats.  I have informed them that he is my EX-HUSBAND, but they don't care--they get off on harassing people I guess.  Sent certified letter requesting they cease and desist according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act--which evidently they don't want to sign for to leave proof that they are harassing innocent people!!!  These jerks are even worse losers than my dead beat ex----they evidently are incapable of obtaining respectable employment and have to resort to bottom of the barrel phone collections so they can feel important harassing people from the safety of a phone line due to their lack of balls to actually face the person they are trying to terrorize into giving them money.  From reading the previous posts, sounds to me like tx debt attorney and brad fuller are among the bunch.

Stop copping your holier than though attitude without knowing the actual details about the people you are browbeating and putting down on these posts--yeah, some may just not pay their bills... but some of us are actually innocent people who have been somehow swooped into their tactics and don't deserve the treatment they or you two are so freely dising out from the safety of a computer screen or telephone where no one can actually see you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jackie Vargas has called both me and mom and my mom is mentally ill.  I asked my mom to record all conversations in the last one she called our whole family a bunch of liers.  My mom can't even remember the birth of her grandchild never the less a debt from 8 years ago.  SHe lives on hardly any money every month; she got the call a few minutes ago from Jackie being horrible and called me crying hysterically and i had to calm her down for almost an hour,  I am contacting an attorney to press harrassment charges.  I actually was going to pay too,  now forget it.

"brad" left a message for us last week.  We have already told this firm that this is an out of statute debt.  Their collectors seem to think that the "banking commission" gave them the authority to reset that statute, or say they have told us..  come on! If you're going to lie, and violate the fdcpa, at least come up with something plausible.  Even the ill informed know that the banking comission has nothing to do with state statutes on debt collection!

collectors like brad and jackie will say ANYTHING and i do mean anything to get you to pay.  if you do, you likely reset the statute of limitations on the debt.  if it's legally past that, they cannot sue you in court.. if they ignore this and sue you anyways, you can countersue and you will most likely win.  they cannot sue for any debt that is time barred, to do so mispresents the legality of the to you and the courts and violates the fdcpa.  I would also ask them for a copy of the original contract you signed.. if they don't have it, they cannot collect anything.  also, if they send you an "affadavit of account", this is not validation.. you need the original contract signed by you from the original creditor.  never talk to a collector on the phone, you won't get anywhere.

Listen ex-wife,  you cant tell me that you didnt benefit from what your ex stole, i say stole because it wasnt aid for and in my book if you take and dont ppay it is stealing no matter what method you used you recieved goods and services without paying for them.. and that is wrong regardless of what may have happened in your life, yeah maybe you dont have all the money or need a lot of time to pay, that is understandable what isnt is the fact the people on this loser board are angry because they are being told to pay what they owe wether it is in the statute or not, a promise is a promise and you made a promise to pay it back the creditor shouldnt lose out or be expected to take a loss just because your situation changes-- REMEMBER SITUATIONS MAY CHANGE BUT OBLIGATIONS DONT-- and you have an obligation to pay back what you regardless  of what any law may say.. go by the law of moral responsibilty and pay the bill.

maybe you should take the $25. month and pay it to someone you owe, I know I have such a nerve... what makes me laugh is that no one can pay their bills but they all have attorneys on retainor... what are you teaching your children, they must be so confused when the phone rings and you either ignore it or tell them to lie for you..

just so you know, the promises made to pay are to an original creditor, not someone who purchased a debt and then inflated it 20X over!  Debt collectors who break the law are just as bad people who don't pay their debts, so don't give me that crap about obligations, I guess because someone didn't pay their bill, it's ok to lie, harrass and abuse them?  If debt collectors didn't abuse the system then people would be more willing to work with them.

it is all that you agreed to when you took out the credit. all you had to do is ay the bill on time and there would be no fees.. but you dont even want to pay what you owe christian friend and that is who you are you are just using different names,, just look at the update times they are all the same time.. there is no justification for not paying a just bill, its people like you that create extra expenses for these people to get what they are owed.. why shouldnt they charge you for it? you caused the cost in the first place.

I was called by caller ID number 781-233-0358. Just for them to hang up when I said hello. 10min later they called me and i had my husband answer it. they spoke with him, and asked for me. I spoke with a Mr. Maxwell.
He told me he was investigating a case involving my brother whom he needs to contact. He gave me a case number and a toll free #866-485-9708.
At 8pm an automated recording call stated the case number, that it was time sensitive, and there busness name, a law group (i didn't quite hear the name.) At the end of the recording it asks to speak to a rep. my husband selected yes. When a man got on the phone, he immediately asked the name of my brother assuming it was him! We told them not to call that he does not live here. He asked if we had my brothers contact info to give to him. We said yes, but he cannot have it. The man then hung up on us.!
I can see this is going to be an ongoing struggle.

"tx debt attorney" is nothing of the sort: just another lowlife collector prowling these sites and submitting bogus entries to try and counter the ton of legitimate bad press the collection business justifiably receives.  Ignore him and his posts.  His lack of a real profession obviously leaves him with a lot of time on his hands.
