It seems like all the people calling DCS law-breakers or scam artists are the ones that didn't pay their bills.  Funny...

So Miss lawyer (TaraB), I suppose you know how and where to look for those laws eh?  I reckon if you knew what the laws were you would also know that they're allowed to call references, and there's pricacy laws stating that debt collectors aren't allowed to give out the nature of the call.  If you owed someone over a thousand dollars and they called your place of business, and your boss asked why they were calling, you would be happy if they let your dirty laundry out all over your place of business?  Also, when you sign a promisary note, you're supposed to update new info (telephone #, addresses, etc).  I got a call from them a few days ago, I got behid on my payments.  I had an emergency and it set me back.  I'm glad they called me, I was able to work out a way to get my account out of collections.    If you loaned someone money you would want to know how to get a hold of them right?   What the heck did you think that they ask for references for when you fill our the app?  For your own health?
    You people are stupid.

came back to my bedroom, I realized that someone left me a message. The person introduced herself as Tonica and left 866-551-6332 as a call back number in my voice mail. The person also mentioned extension 4510.
Shortely after listening to my viocemail, I got a call from one of my freinds who told me that he got similar call from the same person who introduced herself to be Tonica. The caller violeted my privacy by illegally disclosing some of my personal informations telling him that I was behind in my student loan. My personal informations were disclosed to  unauthorized persons.

DCS is very easy to work with if you are able to make any sort of payment. Here in the state of Maine it IS ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL to call an account holders place of business though. Not sure how it works from state to state but it does vary.. They can in fact contact relatives/ references other than work. Good luck to them if they answer though. Nine times out of ten if you see an out of town number or "unavailable" number you wait and see if they leave a message.. No message no call back:)

DCS, commonly assoicated with student loans, tends to get contacts from AES. (the servicer for astrive loans, which allows students to pull out $25,000 a year for school.
Also seems to be assoicated with another collection company, NCO.
Very Rude, Agressive company, but does not have many real powers, They will Threaten above the law's limits.
Easy way to get them to hang up is to answer a few times, and when the actual human gets to the line, tell him that you are recording as well for legal reasons, do not go into detail above that, and they hang up real fast.
after about the 5th try they stop calling if you keep it up.

    Way Downtown
Got a call asking for someone who lives in my building that I don't know, so they clearly found my address and phone number and are using that info to try to find someone else.  Very sketchy if you ask me.

Keep calling my cell phonealmost every hour, trying to get ahold of my brother since I co signed for him and even though he is still in school they are trying to collect. He faxed in forebearance forms so the calls should stop.....I have ditchmail for my cell phone that tells the person to unblock the Caller ID and try again. They are nice people they really are but they have got to stop blowing up the phone even though it was taken care of. Not a scam or anything like that.

thats a complete lie the owner of your loan retains this company...if you would pay your bill you wouldnt be called from the collection agency.. and a quick note you can make arrangements with the servicer but it doesnt keep the account from moving forward to default,,just cause its noted on your account that your going to make a payment next week or next month they will still default your loan....bet you didnt know that did you ? why do you people go to college again,,cause apparently you dont get info about your loans and how it works!!
