So these guys called my Aunt and asked for my Grandfather, he's passed away. Then they asked for my uncle, and then my brother. If they are a credited company, then why do they come off as so devious.

They wanted to get in touch with my brother. This company has a lot of bad reports with the better business bureau. I don't know if they are legitimate, but I wouldn't give them any of my information if they ever called me. I'm sorry for those of you who are being harassed by this company.

not everything is that cut and dry... people that go to school to receive an education do so because they are responsible and driven.  Maybe they just can't find employment... then what?

These people are pathetic! They can't comprehend what I tell them over and over. They call me several times a week asking for a person that has the same last name as me, and I keep telling them they have the wrong number but obviously they're all too stupid to understand!!! At first I was polite to them but now every time they call I  tell them off.

NOT TRUE Dude!  Some of us that are being harrassed DO NOT owe the debt in question. We have tried telling them.. tried ignoring them hoping they will go away... and yet still get ugly, rude, bording on criminal phone messages stating they need to speak to me or my attorney right now!! DO NOT disregard this message or I won't be responsible for the actions that "impart" on you and your family.
Give me a freaking break!!!  Calling from an attorneys office... right. I can hear it"s some sort of call center and further more he sounds like he's from some far away foreign country. India maybe.. because I can't understand most of what he says. There is always a hotline and it's always different.  Scumbags!!
They make me sick and there is a special place in hell for people who prey on  anybody. Do they make sure when they hire you guys that there is a question on your application.. Do you have feeling?  are you a christian? (if so we can not hire you because this job requires ALOT of fabrication and deceit).

This is a particularly annoying company that refuses to tell you who they are and say they need to get in contact with a relative for a important personal matter. They apperantly got our name from a phone book and keep calling back. They lie in an attempt to get information and are very perssistant.

I was called by them for my private student loans with American Education Services (I applied through Teri).  AES is a nightmare and absolutely will not work with anyone who is unemployed (such as myself).  They won't consolidate the loans that I already have with them, and they wont work out a lower payment program.

I wrote an article about my experience with them, and it also contains information about YOUR rights (for example, it is illegal for them to call you if you tell them they cannot).

Got a call from "Erica", who asked for my son stating she had personal business with him.  Well, I knew it had to do with the student loans since we've been dealing with the loan company (he's presently back in school; have faxed curriculum to loan company, etc).  I told her that he was at school and that the loan company was aware of this but she SCREAMED "I'll just keep calling and calling!".  I told her I'd give my son the message and asked the name of the company. Would not give  name but once again indicated that she would keep calling and that she would call the contacts as well until she got a return call.  What a horrible, unpleasant experience.  We've done the right thing on our end; loans are not due until after graduation.  When you owe the money then for goodness sake's, do the right thing but that is not the case in our situation.  I think Erica has a bright future as a nasty corrections officer or a colonoscopy technician...

they had called my mom looking for me and I called them back. I asked them what their company and they refused to tell me anything about what they did as it was against the law to answer a yes or no question. they asked for my social and I wasnt giving some unknown company that information. they asked for my b-day and I told them the month and then he said so this your account number which turned out to be MY SOCIAL!!!!! They said that if I dont pay them 50 by monday they were going to demolish my credit; and its friday how am I to deposit money and get them paid by monday if the banks dont do anything again until monday. just seems pretty fishy.

That "joe" guy is a joke telling me I would be put in a loan rehabilitation program and they wouldnt review anything but when I get transferred they tell me otherwise. hmmmm......never got any calls from them before today or letters mind you as I have been paying my student loans off. through the company I got them from.

If you get calls from these people just hang up the phone and contact whomever you got the loan through in the first place.

Called and asked about a neighbor who I do not know and initially acted like they were friends or something.  They are scammers and will try and pump you for information.  Rep acted as if they had some business with me, but ultimately admitted they did not and were just trying to locate someone.  FWIW, we ARE NOT references or even know this person they are looking for and what they are doing constitutes nothing more than harassment.  Get a life and leave ours alone!!

I've been receiving calls from this company demanding payment arrangements from me. I'VE NEVER EVER EVER HAD A STUDENT LOAN. They can verify my birth date, but they won't give me a SS# of who their looking for- I'm certainly not giving them mine! They rudely insist I'm who they're looking for even though it's been over 25 years since I've been to school. My parents paid my tuition with no studen loans ever being taken out!!!!!!  I ignore their calls now. It's a scam.

    Moi replies to collector
Stupid, STUPID comment, Collector. You seem representative of the scumbags who prey on debtors. I was in bankruptcy, but was repaying my student loan. When the petition was filed, I was put into forbearance even though I didn't ask for that and wanted to keep making payments. Then my bank sold the loan without telling me WHO they'd sold it to. When I sent them payment they sent it back, saying I was to pay a "Company X". When I sent payment to Company X, THEY returned the payment, saying they had no record of me. Back to the bank, who NOW said that the guarantor had paid off the loan. Called the guarantor and they said the debt now belonged to DCS. Called DCS to start making payments and was GRILLED by the collector who put together an on-the-spot financial statement from information I put put on the spot to estimate and I was su flustered I couldn't even think clearly. We are living on my husband's SS. I cannot find work. I was paying the bank $50 a month, and now these vultures want $1500 all at once? The whole experience just SMELLED shady. I'm almost 60, my husband's 70, and we were NEVER in default as far as I know, just in forbearance. I am a retired lawyer, and I have no intention of paying that lump sum. I can't. We don't even know how long we can stay in this house til the bank kicks us out. We will need security deposits to rent an apartment and we barely have that.

These people also called me and WOULD NOT give me any information, i.e. who they were, what they wanted, until I gave them my address.  I refused to give them any information and hung up.  Therefore, I don't know what they wanted.  A legitimate company would give you the info you asked for.  I think they are scammers.  They called my neighbor to get in touch with me and told her that we put her down as a reference.  No we didn't put her down as a reference.

@me....just so you know, we pay our bills and we have an arrangement with the loan company so DCS does not need to be calling me and asking me for money.

So again, please tell me how they are legtimate?
