The people who are being judgemental and who are defending these scam artists work for the scam artists. You can tell by their extremely poor writing skills and lack of logic. Their only resort is the personal attack.

If they continue to call, tell them each time that you are recording the call as evidence for your attorney and the state's attorney general as what they are doing is illegal. It may take a few times, but they will eventually stop calling if they think it means legal trouble for them because they are breaking numerous laws.

I just got a call from this # asking if my neighbor was here.  I said no and asked the lady where she was calling from.  She said DCS.  I don't even know my neighbor!!  We just moved in.  I asked her how she got my number and she told me she looked it up (!!)  She wanted me to find out if my neighbor was home and I told her I didn't know where he was.  This is harrassment I think.  I can't believe that this company is calling me to find out if my neighbor is home!  Again, I don't even know my neighbor since we just moved in.

it seems as if this company collects information on references that other people gave out. the secretary asked me if i knew certain people and i said no. not a big problem, but don't give them or any other unknown company personal information ever.

They are actually very nice and helpful if you just answer their calls. I had a family emergency and got behind on payments and they started calling me. I answered the phone and they made an arrangement that was great for me and got me back on track. They are willing to help you if you answer them

Crooked collectors post this kind of BS on 800notes all the time.

For a more realistic view of what is really going on and how much these scammers want to "help" you, read the article posted on this site.  Maybe "Alice" even knows the guy who wrote it.

I've received calls from this DCS company thinking it was Department of Children Services but to find out when I googled they are most likely a debt collector for the government.  When you call the 866-486-0885 number a recording asks for a social security number or an account name and if you stay on the line you can talk to one of their reps.  They called me as a neighbor to a deadbeat who moved across the street from me who also may have other indiscretions of possibly being a drug dealer.

I have gotten calls with reference to DCS and am assuming that it is reference to collecting s student loan as the neighbor is only 22 years old and her name is Ashley Sabine.  Pay your bills Ashley Sabine from Fort Wayne, Indiana.  They have your address!

Extremely suspicious! Left a msg on my cell regarding a person that listed me as a reference.  Derek Draper.  My initials are are far from being close to D so the family reference is a no go.  Weird thing is they had my street name and an address close to mine.  Called back and recording requested to have an account # and a SS# available.  Some young person answered the phone and could not tell me what DCS stands for and could not tell me where they are located and could not answer the question "How can I help you" .  I recently applied for an equity line on the house with two banks and I assume they sold my number with a partial address.  So I ended it with a death threat which I regret.

I have to deal with this company three times a year. they claim to be collecting on an 20 yr old account against my wife. - It's totally bogus my wife did not have a credit card (they say its a credit acount) when she was 14. We dont even have credit cards let alone past due accounts - DCS can kiss off  - when ever they start it usually lasts for 3 days and they call me - my wife - and some of her siblings looking for her. when she asks for specific info they will not release it because she wont verify the account bt giving them a SS#

DCS is company know for being brutal over the phone.  THey collect on student loans.  Basically they are out to get your money.  I had to learn this the hardway, I was pursuaded to make payments on my student loan. (I KNEW IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO) But this gentleman by the name of "Joe Schmit" or something to that sounding told me that my minimum payments were 200 dollars a month.  I told him that my hours were cut and that I was not able to make that payment. Long story short.... I hung up.  He started to call me every day, until he caught me on the phone at work after pay day. Since i was under the impression that this was the only option I decided to make the payment.  I did some research on the internet, and to my surprise this Joe guy ripped me off.  He knew I had a family, He knew that my money was tight, and he knew that I was going through a divorce.  Even knowing all this did not stop him from giving me the break i needed.  It turned out that my payments shoudl have been under 100 dollars.  LIARS!!! IF YOU ARE A HARD WORKING AMERICAN.... Trying to do the right thing, but still you come up short YOU ARE NOT ALONE....  I found this guy name "K" he is a student loan collector showing people what their options are.  Go check out his website he'll explain the student loan collector's culture and what they are about.... He'll spill all the beans...

Did you know back in the day it was illegal to have debt.  They even had debtor's prisons.  Pay your bills and stop complaining.  If you know so much about the law, become a lawyer.  If you know so much about collections, work for a collection company.  Maybe if you used the money for college and got an education, you wouldn't be in a situation getting calls.  You're stupid for getting private loans for school anyway.  Yeah you get more money, but when you have to start paying them back you hide behind fake accusations of being wronged, having your rights broken, and being bullied.  It's physically impossible to be bullied on the phone just like it's physically impossible to be bullied on the internet.  Just pay your bills and get a job or something.  Funny how some people on here have so much time on their hands to google a number that called them, post a complaint, and read everyone's complaint.  That's why you can't pay your bill, because you're stupid and misusing your time.

Had a very nice call with a man named Justin.  He was so fierce and forceful on the phone to begin with, but slowly he turned it all around and told me he was trying to do something special to help me.  He even took time out to speak to his supervisors and set me up on lower payments.  I have never gone from being so angry to feeling so cared for so fast.  He really knew what he was doing and the payment he came up with really made my situation so much better.  I tried to myspace him and facebook him to see if his looks matched his voice.  It was dreamy, soothing, yet so strong, so passionate.  I may have to get myself back into collections just so that I can talk to him again.  I even told all my close friends and relatives to let me know if I ever get a call back from him.  Here's hoping that he gets to service me once again, of course by that I mean my loan :).

First of all: let's be for real. The agency is a scam and a rip off. So telling someone that they should pay their bill takes a lot of nerve. People know that this company is a crock. So please don't insult people's intelligence by trying to act llike they did something wrong by stating how they feel. As hard as economic times are companies like this are like a plague on society. If you feel the need to stand up for a company, pick a reputable one.

Someone from 866-486-0885 continues to call our office seeking information about some person they think might have worked here in the past.  They call frequently despite being informed that the person they seek is unknown and not an employee of this business.

There should be a law against this type of unprofessional business practice.

that's a pretty rude comment, you probably have no friends and your family hates you...you would turn your back on family members just because they have financial troubles? can we say SUPERFICIAL?
