ISN'T THERE SOME WAY TO CATCH THESE GUYS? - WastingMyMinutesI keep getting calls from this phone number 866.491.7121. They call me at least 5 times a day. Whenever I pick up the phone there is no one there. I've tried calling the number back and there is no ring tone NOTHING!!! I am soo frustrated. I put my name on the National Do Not Call registry but apparently I need to be on the list for 31 days before I can make a complaint. How frustrating....

- tellallThey are teller marketers my friend got a call from them where they got them to say yes to crap then took money out of his account. Well that is what he told me. He thinks they may be linked to Trident Marketing because they were the ones who took the money out
- former employee replies to cloudy| 1 replyAs a former employee of all of two hours, let me explain something to all of you. You need to threaten a lawsuit, ask the name of the individual calling, and specifically asked to be place on the do not call list.
An example of this is:
CALLER: Hi Jamie, this is Ronaldo from Platinum Rewards, how are you doing today ma'm?
POTENTIAL CUSTOMER: I'm fine, what's this regarding?
CALLER: Well ma'm I'm just calling to inform you that you've qualified to receive this awesome free gift for being a valued consumer...blah blah blah...
POTENTIAL CUSTOMER: I have repeatedly asked to be placed on your Do Not Call list, if I keep receiving these calls from your company I will be filing a lawsuit. What is your full name for my records for my attorney?
At this point they'll probably hang up and are required to remove you from the call list within a certain amount of time, otherwise you are entitled to sue them. - JMThey have been calling me for almost 3 months now. The calls are at 3-4 calls a day. I never answered. I rented a car in White Plains, NY in July. I don't know if this has anything to do with the calls. I'm going to have to change my number soon.
- ErikSame as above. I filed a complaint with the FCC, I recommend that you all do the same.
- ErikFTC, not FCC, sorry.
- BAS-NMCaller spoke to me by name, I responded, this is she, how may I help you?.
Caller says I am calling in reference to your account ending in ****, how are you doing today? I replied- okay really busy, getting ready to leave.
Caller says ohhhh, okay and hangs up?

- Gary HigginsI buy a lot of items on-line and always use my business phone number, but I have never received any phone calls at work. I recently purchased a few things on-line and I started to get sales calls everyday from vacation clubs or travel clubs saying that I won a $25 free gas card or something similar. When I asked how they got my work number they say that I recently used my VISA card to purchase something on-line. Then I started getting calls from 866 491-7121 but there is never anyone on the other end of the line. Apparently the whole thing started with a disreputable web site that passed my personal information along to these telemarketers. I am going to go over my records to see what web site may have caused this problem.
- ToddThey call I answer they hang up. It has happened several times.

- mrsbills| 1 replyShe said she was calling regarding my account ending in **** and said that because of a purchase that I had made the marketers from the purchase provided her with the info and was letting me know that I had won $200 shopping spree at www.wsnrewards.com and $100 at any gas station. She said I could buy groceries cars water and anything that I wanted there! I checked it out its just junk and no cars or groceries. She wanted me to look at there discounts and 4 programs. it would cost me $2 for shipping and handling. We will send you ID an Passport in the mail. I said what is the ID and passport for? She said , for shopping on the website. I said sounds complicated. She asked if I had ever been on line before? then said that for my protection she wanted to read to me all about these programs. I said what do I need to be protected from and she hung up! I also have received calls from 231-224-2074 and many others that I will now be keeping track of.

- Mary DownsYea, they call my house at LEAST 3 times a day, but never talk!!! I do the same thing by calling back, but it says call back at regular business hours. I am so sick of this!!! How can we make them stop calling?
- Mary Downs replies to mrsbillsI had a similar scam ran on me a few months back. Somehow they knew someone had gotten a hold of some money out of my account and wanted my new info to replace the amount taken. Good thing you were smart. I reported to the police, but not much they can do.
- Super SleuthI talked to a Henry Proudfoot. Sounded like a young kid (which was lucky for me as he stayed on the phone and answered a few of my questions.) His company was Platinum Rewards. He stated that thru a partnership website in which I bought something with my Visa ending in ####, I was eligible for the usual gas card or gift certificate. He also reviewed my mailing address (which was my home address). That's when I asked for his full name, which to my surprise, he replied. Then I asked for a number that I could call back. He gave me the 866-491-7121. I asked if he could verify my credit card or bank it was with, he couldn't. I asked for a company address. He gave me Largo, FL but didn't know the street address.. only that the zip code started with 33. So I do a peoplefinder look up and yes, there is a Henry Proudfoot listed in Largo, FL. I then tell him that he's contacted a place of business and to please remove this number from any further calls. I guess we'll see if that happens.

- Lucky meI'm geting called by this number too. Never had a telemarketing call problem before until now. Amazing how the calls came about immediately after I bought a book off the TV from Kevin Trudeau. Now lucky me receives multiple calls at all different times throughout the day from telemarketers.
I put my number on the National Do Not Call List. But I also had to call the Trudeau/ITV company as well and ask that I be taken of "their" list. If you'll note in the Q&A of the National Do Not Call List
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm
it states: "By purchasing something from the company, you established a business relationship with the company. As a result, even if you put your number on the National Do Not Call Registry, that company may call you for up to 18 months after your last purchase or delivery from it, or your last payment to it, unless you ask the company not to call again. In that case, the company must honor your request not to call. If they subsequently call you again, they may be subject to a fine of up to $11,000." - Tennessee CatI've gotten calls from this number too. When I've called back, I get a message that the offices are closed and to call back during regular business hours then it disconnects.
- Mr. HornSir/Ma’am,
I recently rented a car from the Fox Car Rental Agency in San Jose California. I provided them with both my Home and Cell number as part of the contract agreement. A REPRESENTATIVE OF YOUR COMPANY CONTINUOUSLY CALLS ALL NUMBERS AS THIS BAD APPLE CAN'T SEEM TO HONOR YOUR OWN PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT. This is a personal email of dissatisfaction with your company’s inability to do right by me as a paying customer. I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT YOU WILL LOOSE MY BUSINESS TO ONE OF YOUR COMPETITORS IF THIS TYPE OF HARASSMENT CONTINUES. Unless you have the strong desire to continue losing business due to an "Insider Threat" may I suggest that you conduct an internal investigation and take appropriate action? I do apologize for being harsh as you are probably not aware this is taking place however the phone calls have to stop!
Respectfully submitted,
Mr. Horn

- Craig Pearson| 1 replyReceived Call and no one answered
- Vince M replies to Craig PearsonI get this call every other day for the past month around 9am and then 3pm, I have never rented a car either. When I got the first call they said they wanted to send me a gift certificate since I was a VISA user then he told me the last four digits of my card, I told him I canceled that VISA an d I moved then he tried to get my new address and credit card number and when I told him no he hung in me. Every call i get now from that number they say hello a nd hang up, when I try to call back I get an answering machine saying to call back during the normal business hours, this is really annoying and I would love to meet the person so I can shove my cell phone in his mouth......I did manage to talk to someone who called me from that number and when I asked how he got my cell # he said I must have bought something online or elsewhere where it required a phone # from a company, that company then sells ALL the other numbers they've accumulated during their business to these telemarketing companies and that is how they get their data base to "cold call" all of us, until they get a new data base... the old one is recycled and they start all over again or sold to another telemarketing company. I gave this number 866-491-7121 to a friend of mine and currently having it traced, as soon as I find out who they are will repost here.
