i got one jan 6 2010 and i call them they never called back do you know who they are?

Got the same call, they claim to be from a law firm and satating there is a fraud summons against social, give your last four social and then state it could involve a warrent for my arrest...  Caller Paul White, when asked for 5 day letter on debt I was pushed off and when I asked for their fax number, my request was unanswered.  I contacted the Atlanta Better Business Department and they had not record of them being registed with them.

Got a call stating it was the second attempt of contacting me, provided my correct first name but incorrect last name with the last 4 digits of my ssn and gave the bank I am associated with and the comment I had conducted deposit fraud?

Must be a collection agency, very rude and intimidating voicemail left on my phone.

I have received phone calls this number saying that there has been a complaint filed on me by my credit union for check fraud.  When I contacted my credit union, they said they had not filed a complaint with anyone.  When I asked for written documentation, Mr. Barnes at ext. 2205 said that he could not mail any correspondence.  He could only email or fax.  Since he had my email, he sent me a document typed up by himself stating that there was a debt to a payday loan.  This supposedly happened in 2006.  He has used profane language when talking with me or my husband, misrepresented the facts, and refused in the beginning to release any name for his company.  I have since found out that he is working for Hoffman, Swartz, & Associates out of Atlanta, GA.  The website is Hoffmansa.com.  I dod not know if this is a legitimate business or not.  He has threatened to have me arrested.  I don't even know if the debt is valid being that I have paid off a payday loan in the past.  His phone numbers are (866)496-9922  Ext. 2205 and (800)559-0708 Ext. 1110.  I have contacted consumer protection and the attorney general.

I actually got the address:  4514 Chamblee Dunwoody Road  Atlanta, GA  30338.  Not able to find Hoffman, Swartz and Associates at this address when I google it.

WOW! I got this call at my job not more then 15 minutes ago. The automated message had my whole name & whole social. But when I called (866)496-9922, I just got a recording saying to call the person at their extension but the call didn't give me that info & the 866# just looped when I hit the extension # or said it was an invalid #. I am totally freaked out. I have debt I don't need anything making it worse.

I'm in the same boat as the last person. They called me at about 2:00 when i told them that i was filing a complaint the lady hung up on me.

Here is the thing i am eighteen year old... during school i got a missed call and a voicemail. When i went to lunch i checked the voicemail and i got very scared because they said my mother had committed a federal fraud and they will have her arrested. I was thinking something went wrong because my mother has been paying stuff on her own since my father lost his job. When i called the number back to get more details for my mom i got a recording stating their company name and it said to dial your parties ext. I didn't receive one so it says to dial 222 if you don't know your party's ext. Well i did and then it said to put the three letters of your last name. Well i did and it said they couldn't find any matches. When i got home i told my mother and she was terrified so we kept calling the number because you can barely hear the recording. So i went to google and typed the company's name that i thought i heard. Well it didn't show up so for the thought of it i just tyoed in the number in the google search and it listed many websites and the one website that caught my eye was this site and i started reading all of these comments and i was like well oh my.. i told my mom that i found the site and that everybody had the same problem so my mother kind of calmed down. The call i got was just a machine from the number 866 496 9922. Well since i read the other comments i was aware just in case of the other numbers and name of the person the other people got a call from and his ext. So today as of Jan.27,2010 i got another call from the other number at the same time as the one the day before and sure enough i had a voicemail and it was a message from Paul White and he said the ext is 2205. I have been saving all the voicemail's and not answering. Now that i know they are a fraud well my mother works for the government and her boss has some type of system where she knows fraud companies and she notified my mom that this has been going on for a long time i have no idea how these people can get away with this. The main reason i wrote this is because i think they contacted me because they knew i am a child and they prob. thought i would just enter a social number so be aware. We also contacted our news station here in Dallas,Texas to notify people.

i had a message left on my voicemail, i returned the call and spoke to a mr barnes, he had all my information about an old debt i had. unfortunately the debt was mine. the company is legitimate but the tactics they use is scarry.i paid my debt and received documentation it was paid, im done with them.

I have asked to have my validation notice in writing via US Mail which is to be mailed to me in 5 days of contact.  I am not being dificult with these requests but this firm has violated the FDCPA by threating my arrest if the debt was not paid imediatley.  As you know The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which prohibits debt collectors from using abusive, unfair, or deceptive practices to collect from you.   Listed in the sections of what can not take place is the threating of arrest for a debt if not paid.

I have forwarded all the emails to New York State Attorney Generals Office, and that of Atlanta as well.  Copies have been sent to the FTC and Bank Of America since you stated they are filing Securities Fraud against me if I do not pay ASAP.  I have contacted the Dunwoody & Dekalb Co. offices in Atlanta to validate this inqury.  I look forward to receiving your firms letter to clear this matter up so we can move forward with the proceedings.  I have yet to hear anything back to date.  Please visit The Fair Credit Protection Act online and read your rights and what the process really should be in a situation like this.  BIG SCAM!!!!

Got the same call after I had requested a mailed letter from them... DO NOT VERIFY ANY INFORMATION... State you want to have it mailed to your address (they say they have it on file) and that the debt is non-collectable at this time.  The caller today was from a Mrs. Cindy Cole @ Ext; 2211 stating there was a claim filed against my SS # --- Same company different representative.   There number was 866.496.9922.  BE WARE!!!! FRAUD!!!

That address is for a UPS store located at that address.  All that is there is a PO Box (mailbox).  BE CAUTIOUS.. Poss Fraud.  I have forwarded all information and have contacted the Dunwoody & Dekalb Co. offices to validate this inqury.  I was very angry to find out there is no business listing for these scamers and reading below sounds like they can call from TX, NY, GA.

i recv a call from this debt compy and i was almost embarrassed to hve them say that there was a fradulent activity done using my social security number, after i did my review this compy was legitimate and in fact they do hve the right to garnish my wages...so i paid my debt to them and now im debt free.....

this is a legal company that can garnish, or bring a judgement against you if you dont pay youe debt

if you people paid your bills you wouldnt have to worry bout people tring to collect $$$.....dont be a deadbeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!pay your bills, i paid mine and they were very professional

don't worry...they CANNOT garnish ur wages...the IRS is the only one who can that...the people who say they are professional probably work for this lunatic company...make them send the info to u...don't give them any info!!!! BEWARE!!!

I also have received phone calls from Paul White...866-496-9922  ext: 2201.  I also have been told that if I do not pay the debt immediatly they will file with my local county court and have me arrested.  I have contacted an attorney in the area and also left him a voicemail requesting a Validation Letter.   Any other advice?

I received a phone call from this number  866-496-9922 and it wasn't even for me. They called my cell phone which I've only had for a year. The voicemail was from a Mr. Jones saying that he was calling for my father. Mr. Jones left the number and his ext which was 2204. So I returned the call to ask how this man had my phone number. When I tried to ask, he yelled at me telling me that I shouldn't be calling late. When I told him to not call my number again he cursed at me, told to shut up, and that I should fix the problem and that it wasn't his fault. Then he hung up on me. My dad paid his debt that was owed and had to file bankruptcy due to identity theft and that man violated the bankruptcy laws. I feel these people should learn how have proper phone etiquette. All I wanted for them stop calling my cell when it has nothing to me.
