I get these calls all the time from this number. Never answer anything with 800. I even removed my VM capabilities from the phone at home. Strange how we are the ones who need to change the way we live. Not these bottom feeders. The dregs of the earth.

Maybe if we had a better economy things wouldnt be so bad. But that aint happening either.

They have made multiple calls for someone who does not live here (has never lived here) and this phone number has been registered to same person for 40 yrs... am recording each call and will file a lawsuit.

I am on the do not call list. I do not want anybody call me from this number. I have no job, no money,

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I received a call on Thursday from Phillips and Cohan. I have been making regular payment of $5.00 per month, as I have other bills to pay besides them. At least the $5.00 is a good faith attempt to pay a debt, but that is not enough for them. Well they will not get any more than what I can afford to pay them. After all this is Christmas and my grandchildren will have Christmas from Grandpa and Grandma, and they will have to take a number, once medical bills are paid up, then they will get more. I thought that I got through to them last month. However, as long as I make some kind of payment, any court will recognize that. Besides they cash my check every month with no problem.

So you simply decided to pay them based on  what they told you over the phone, or did they scare you into paying.  This company if you want to call it that, is known to violate the law and is a criminal enterprise.  Did they send you a letter within 5 days of first talking to you as required by law?  Probably not.  I will be finishing up a report on these cretins later today, check back.

Thank you for the information. I sent them an email and hopefully that will take care of them. Their calls get old.

Just received a missed call from them, they only let it ring twice in the hopes of you calling back.  Checked them number first to see who it was, called them back and asked why are you calling my cell phone (I never give this # out to any company so there is now way they could have gotten it for me).  They checked and they were looking for a Brenda Fu*******, and this # was her contact #.  Not possible that she had this cell # since I've had this cell # for 13 years.  Told them this, OK we will delete this number from our database.  My guess is they try multiple area codes with the same # trying to get a hit.  If they call back, they are going to hear all the colorful language my Mother taught me not to use but that I take pleasure in using for [***] on the telephone I pay for!

i received a settlement letter from phillips and cohen for an amount that i paid and know because i did not call and let them know that was what the payment i sent was for (the payment was exactley settle ment amount in letter i recieved and sent back the coupon at top of letter with account etc on it ) but because i didn't call to let them know that what the payment was for they know tell me that i can settle for 146.   more they told this last week and said they could email me the settlement paper for this amount but i will need to be paid by March 31. still have not recieved email. is this legal does any one know. any information would be helpful.

They keep calling and passing me off.... I even had federal contacts tell them to stop calling
