    get a brrring number, y'all
Get a brrring number or something similar to put in forms like the ones these guys are scraping.  That way, when they call, they get to listen to an annoying ad, and you get paid.  Win win!

So I had this missed called, was your favorite number, 8665394654, which I tried to call back, thinking it was a different company, and I swear between the staticy music it was saying "craigs advisors" lol anyways so twice when someone answered on their end they hung up!  How rude!  I wish I had been able to speak to someone to at least ask to be taken off of their calling list.

Well I get calls everyday from these people. It's very annoying. But what I do is reject their calls. I don't know if all phones have this but my phone does. I go to menu, call, call reject, call reject list, then I enter the number, save it, and that's it. You can also see if they have called you by looking at your call log. When they call it says call rejected and they go straight to my voicemail. Thank goodness I don't have to be bothered anymore. All of you should see if you have this in your phone. It helps alot.

They call everyday. I answered and asked to take a message, the lady paused then said, could you tell Steve to call back at the number on the caller ID. I said I don't have a caller ID, then they asked if I has a pencil. Very annoying and persistant. I'm assuming these scum bags got my number off a job posting site. People like this make me sick. I, like so many people, have been laid off and am madly searching for a job, the last thing I need is these bottom feeders harassing me. I hope they all rot!

I just wanted to add a few things to this thread.  You all have to understand one thing - those of us who work for these companies probably aren't very happy with the job and have no control over who is called and how many times. We can get just as frustrated at many of you because we have to deal with it on a day to day basis.

Please understand that we know how frustrating it must be and how annoying it is to endlessly receive calls - it frustrates us as well - and at the same time we need work just as much as the rest of the US does.  It doesn't seem like very honest work and it is easy for many of you to criticize and say that we're all jerks or we're all horrible people - but we are people with mouths to feed and families to take care of, just like you.

A little word to the wise, if you are visiting career sites and have no intention of going to school, then do not mark that you are at any point.  If you are contacted regardless, then ask that you be put on a do not call list.  If you are still contacted after requesting this and it has been past 48 hours, then talk to the supervisors.  Please do not blame the people calling or answering the phones as it is completely beyond their control what happens.  It may seem like a lot to swallow but unfortunately this is how it is in any call center.

We all understand your frustration and we all sympathize with it as we do our best every day to try and help people and unfortunately because of a bad system a lot of people aren't getting the help they want.

If it came down to no roof over your head and no food for your family, every single one of you would take whatever job you can get (and everyone in the US is doing this right now because of the economy).

It's irrational to expect people to outright quit a job that annoys other people.  It's unfair to think no one understands how frustrating it is to be called constantly.  We all know.  We all care.  We are unfortunately unable to do anything about it.  Talk to supervisors.  Don't take it out on the people who are just trying to do their job and earn a living.

    S.
Called and actually reached a human.  Explained that we're on the do-not-call registry (recently renewed, in fact) and that I was recording my call to him.  Told him I could document (because we have Vonage, which lists ALL incoming/outgoing calls) more than 80 calls from their number over the last three months.  And, pointed out that with my recording, since I could prove I'd told him I wanted no more calls, I'd have no hesitation in contacting our State's attorney general, and anyone else I could think of, to prosecute the company.

If you can get a recording device and do the same, it may prove helpful.  As long as you explain at the beginning that you are recording the calll, as long as it's your phone, no problem legally.
