Snagajob is one of the companies that Career Advisor uses to buy lists of numbers from. Also, jobs.com is a total scam site. There are no actual jobs listed, they are just like an RSS feed of jobs posted on other employment websites. So why go to jobs? Go to the real sites. Jobs.com exists SOLELY to mine your personal data and sell it. That's their entire business scheme - not providing any real service.

As well i use to work for Career Advisor an most of the time people fill out multipule job apps on line thru varies websites an as everyone should know now days they all ask about furthering education... correct if you do not uncheck that box when you fill out your info on any job website or education website you freely give them or another company that does the same job to help you contact schools in your area the right to call you an help there is nothing wrong with that but if you dont want the calls make sure you look out for any thing that advises about further education so you can uncheck it or get off the  website before you fill out anything. The only way they can get your info is if you freely enter it on one of their affiliated websites an dont uncheck the box or fill out info for further education so dont blame the company blame your self for not checking....... so like this person said they have the right expecially if they are a 3rd party job or education website thats how they help you get in contact with job or education possiblities it doesnt have to state the specifics because it should be known if you dont want that then if you find a job or school on a paticular website go to the company or schools actual website to save your self from complaining about something that happened because you choose to look for things on the net.

This is really a horrible company to work for.  They really will call you over and over again unless you very determinedly say "put me on the do not call list".

I used to work there and everyone there is ghetto and lazy they are just there for a paycheck, if they do not say anything I wouldn't be surprised who wants to call someone about school obviously if they were interested they would call themself to find out info they are looking for right? That company is not good to work for

so for all of you that are getting upset about this...heres the 411 coming from someone who worked for career advisor for three years. we dont fund anything. schools all over the us and a few in canada pay us big bucks to put their name on our search engine which is similar to google. when you put your info into our database requesting a callback, we do so and then ask you a few questions and find a college in your area that offers the program you are interested in at no cost to you. at some point in time one of two things happened. you or someone in your home clicked on one of those "get a free" gift ads online and had to fill out your info on our data sheet and submitted it before the next random ad popped up. so when we called you back to help you continue your education, instad of explaining to us that you were not interested yu go into a tissy fit yelling about telemarketing. seriously though. we NEVER call you unless you or someone else gives us your number and ASKS US TO CALL YOU. it just doesnt work like that for us. the other possibility is if you  or your high school child or sibling perhaps, filled out their info requesting information on colleges. and then when we call and get you we get the temper tantrum. i cannot tell you how many time ive called and gotten a parent who's child had requested our information and had you turn around and tell me that since you are the one paying for the education you have the say over where they go and what they study. which by the way folks....totally NOT your choice. its their life. and the you yell and scream about calling the police and sewing us (which you cant by the way because again you or someone asked us to call which makes this whole mess YOUR fault) and i spend 20 minutes trying to trell you that we have to speak with whoevers name is on the submition form. someoe else cannot CAN NOT tell us to stop calling. and even if that person is the one to tell us to take you off the NO CALL LIST (and yes people you have to say those 3 magic words in that order for us to do it - not my rules) it takes 48 hours. all adding you to that list is doing is preventing your numer from being added to any future lists. this list is computer generated which means NO ONE has access to it but the computer. it is also 48 hours back dated so we have absolutely no way of removing you from a list that has already been posted. i added a lady to our list and had the misfortune of being the person that got her number 3 more times that day. ive been yelled at by teachers and husbands and all sorts of people.  please remeber that when you fill out your information online and submit it that the company inquestion will do its part and follow up. dont get an attitude with people on the other end of the phone. we are just doing our job. oh and by the way...i got paid 12.50 and hour plus commition for that job so you bet your ass ill do whatever it takes to get that person on the form to sign with the school so i can get that commission. so no matter how hard you try...remeber that we are justas mad for having you people waste our time while someone else in the call center is getting a hot call and getting my commision.

it is not the reps faults, they #'s are auto dialed, they have no control over who they call and who they don't.  The reps ARE entering your # as a no call but are beign told to tell you it takes 24-48 business hours to remove your name and number from the list.... note I said "business hours"  that is about a week or so.  You guys get so frustrated with us calling that u end up calling the # to complain which then re enters your # into the system.... if u r receiving calls after requesting to go on do not call.... I would suggest contacting National Do Not Call List and discuss the issue with them.

The calls are not what some call "cold calls", when joining or going to job sites online and a questionairre comes up and asks if you would be interested in going to school/continuing your education/hear information about how you can go to school etcetc.... and you check yes, you have given us permission to contact you.  be very careful how you answer questions because if you check yes, we will call.... we ONLY call those who clicked yes.... so saying I clicked no and called anyway.... wrong.... u clicked yes and wish u clicked no. it is as simple as that.... if u don't want to be bothered, register yourself on national do not call list then when someone calls u tell them, I am registered on ndocl (national do not clal list) or continue to totell themm over and over and over do not call me again, because in that way, u will be called again and again and again

Again I used to work with this company. I understand the reasoning they have for the company. If they really wanted people to go back to school and actually wanted people to speak with them in a nice fashion, then they wouldn't called twice a day for three weeks straight. Yeah it takes 24 to 48 hours to be put on the Do No Call list. I honestly think these people that run this company are morons or something because no one wants to speak with someone who contacts them twice a day for 3 weeks straight. I feel stalked when people do that. It's almost like they are trying to collect money or something which they aren't. Still just the principles of the matter. I agree also, it's not the reps fault, they are just doing their job and have no control over who the autodialer calls.

I used to work there. They actually buy your information from jobs websites and other site that you have been on looking for employment and then they contact you in order to "try" and assist you in going back to school. I honestly thought my job was a waste of time. The only thing I got out of it was a pay check. I absolutely hated it. I felt like all we were doing was annoying the crap out of people for no apparent reason. Surprised this company is still in business.

I think that is funny. I previously worked for this crock of crap company. They are ridiculous. On our QA scores, they have the most stupid of crap because their is nothing much else they can knock us down for on our calls so they make up crap. They also say they do not want cell phones on the floor but yet, anyone can just walk on the floor, it doesn't matter who you are. They wanted to protect personal information yet, I don't see how that is happening if you let random people roam around the call floor.

I worked their previously and yeah I hated that job so much. But It was something until something better came along, and it has. So now I'm done with that crap. I honestly feel that you shouldn't have to contact someone multiple times a day in order to get them back to school, I think they are more of trying to force the matter.

That is very true. They did pay for your phone. That's how they get it. I think that's so wrong.

It's hard to deal with them, I had to work for them. They are quite ridiculous. They make up a lot of stuff so that the agents can not move in the company well. They make up stupid rules to help protect information of the people whose information they bought, but yet they allow random people to walk around the cell center floor. Delivery people of food, families, random people. It's quite disturbing. I would just say call them and tell them they need to take your number off the list, they need to comply of else the company will be in trouble, it's FCC regulation, they also have to comply with the do no call act. If needed tell them you are going to press charges for harassment, and that you can prove they have called more than twice a day.

I worked with this company, I'm not sure if it's a scam or not, but I couldn't keep working their. Actually yes, I do think this company is a scam, a scam just to get money and bug the [***] out of people. They buy peoples information from other sites and use it to attempt to get people to go back to college. The thing is you can online and find a college, why do I need to speak with something and have them ask me a million of questions for. So in all I felt wrong doing this job, I couldn't stand it. It's a waste of space a real company could be using.

NO, this company has nothing to do with jobs. The only thing they want is for you to pretend to be interested in going back to school so they can collect money from the college. They buy your information from job sites and use it to bug you all day. No purpose to their company really except to annoy.

First of all, do you know how to spell? I think you should have put your information forth to go back to school because you need it. Anyway,I  recently worked for this company. My training class was informed the company actually purchases a prospects information from jobs sites, and any other sites they can possibly get it from. Doesn't matter if you want them to call you or not, they will. Then they call you in what they say twice a day and annoy until they can talk you in to putting your information towards a college to further education. I love the idea of people going back to school to further education, really I do, but come on, calling that much isn't going to work. From what I've seen it hasn't either. In my opinion if I want to speak with someone about furthering education I would not want to speak with someone who is calling me non stop basically, I would feel harassed and forced. That's not the way people should feel. I agree it's a job that pays the bills though. I just can't do it for a long period of time. They have way too many things that are totally dumb that they mark you off for on QA as well as a no cell phone policy but it's perfectly fine for random people to walk into the floor and gather it if they wanted.
