- Tired of this phone call guyI called after reading this bolg and told them to list my number out of their system.
- zeke112 replies to lilangiem| 8 repliesI received calls from this number also. Same MO,continuous calls,no message. I finally got fed up and dialed the number. I spoke to an
actual person.Someone named Josh. I didn't give my name. I just told
him to remove my number from their list and he said he would comply.
The name of the company is Career Advisors.I don't know what they do
and I don't even care,as long as they stay off of my phone! - fettaI kept getting calls from this number on my cell phone so I called it back and asked them to put me on the "do not call" list. The lady said she would and asked for my number and then MY NAME. Why they would need my name, I don't know. Of course I gave a fake name.
- dmill804two or three calls a night
- Call type: Telemarketer
- me| 5 repliesdo not answer this number. it is a fruad. they will call, hang up, when you return the call if you stay on the line an insane amount on money will be charged to your phone bill. the company is really located out of the country. this is to ensure a lengthy and expensive legal battle which makes it cheaper to just cut your losses.
- Me2 replies to me| 3 repliesHah! thats crap. You made it up and i know it. Wanna know why. I work at career advisors!
- Me2 replies to Me2| 2 repliesI work at career advsiors. We call people because they had submitted information on one of our websites (Search4careercolleges.com, etc.) or an affiliated website. We do a search based on your zip code and program of interest to see which schools in the area offer that particular program. Then we submit your contact information provided on the website (usually first and last name, mailing address, contact number, and email) to the schools your interested in, and they will contact you back with more information. We are based in Kansas City, Missori. Not out of the country. There is no charge for the service because we get revenue from the colleges that we submit to. You shouldn't be getting called more than once a day. At least thats what we're told.............The calling and hanging up thing is being worked on. No real answer from anyone as to why its happening yet. I don't like it either cause you people call and yell at ME for something that is out of MY control.
- skyrays replies to Mike| 1 replytired of this number calling me at all hours dunno who they are , something about career advice, ok who gave them my number and what do they want??? anywho well im not picking up my phone specially not my cell where for some reasonis where they prefer to call .....
- stopcallingme| 3 repliesI have been getting calls from this number for MONTHS! They never leave a message but continuously keep calling. I do not care who you are but don't you get the hint that people do not answer their phone from mysterious 1-800 numbers? I can guarantee you that I NEVER signed up on any website for such a service. I am already a college student and do not need this service.
- FROM ME2U replies to Me2then get more involved in your business it sounds like you have an education as you are looking people up to invade thier privacy and you need to stand up for the company you believe in. Let the big wigs know what is beig said on this site and help yourself out, I am sure you work on comission and want to stay employed. right? Then helps us out also and get the calls to stop. Nobody wants to be harrassed. Do you? Thank you. appreciate it.
- The Man replies to meThis guy is full of...well YOU know what...where did you get this info?...maybe he just likes posting made up crap to feel self-important?
ANYWAY....although it may be annoying, this company IS a free service9NO THEY DON'T ASK FOR A CREDIT CARD OR BILL YOUR PHONE (ILLEGALLY), they ARE BASED in the US(Kansas City, Mo)
ANYWAY the number AS YOU CAN PROVE FOR YOURSELF SIMPLY BY DIALING IT(DUH) is some company that calls itself "Career Advisor" and either YOU, or SOMEBODY(on purpose or by mistake) posted your number while: Looking for a college on various sites and/or posting your resume on various sites (that's what they told me anyway).
It's EASY to beat these kind of companys, (AGAIN...DUH) post your phone number as 213-123-4567, if a legitimate company wants to contact you to go to school or get a job, they will email you, THEN if you are interested, you can give them your real number explaining why you posted the fake one. I have done this and THEY ALWAYS UNDERSTAND. ( and probably think you are smarter then the AVERAGE bear) - I'm NOT with stupid replies to KatrinaAgreed better to be safe, but ALSO better to not be stupid(like this poster)...call them ...although the are annoying, they are a free service AND DO NOT ask for your SSN, the ONLY info they have is what I posted on their website - so just don't be stupid, if you don't want others to call you, THEN STOP POSTING YOUR INFO TO WEBSITES...DUHHHHH
OH.... AND you can ask to have them stop calling. - Me2 replies to stopcallingme| 1 replyYeah whatever. Funny how we just pulled your exact phone number, address, name, and email address out of cyberspace. i hate it when that happens
- ec replies to stopcallingmeIf they call again, answer it and ask that they remove your number from their calling list. Any reputable telemarketer will comply.
- Imaricareer advisors. dont be scared ppl. just ask them to stop calling. they found me from signing up for crap. when websites say they dont spam or share info, they are lying!
- EK replies to zeke112| 7 repliesI did the same thing; just called back and told him I wanted to be removed from the list. Guess I'll wait to see if they ever call back...
- EK replies to EK| 6 repliesCalled back again with Unknown for the number, but still the same people from Career Advisor. Again asked to be removed... jerks.
- heatherconstantly calling my cell phone all hours of the day and night
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Lisa| 1 replyThey kept calling my phone non-stop all day and I called up and spoke with some guy. I asked what the calls were in regards to and he said that someone in my "household" or myself made an inquiry online about career advising and they find schools for you. I said, listen, this is a cell phone so neither myself nor anyone else made an inquiry. Then he said, ok well if you change your mind call us at ###-###-#### and I asked if I could be taken off the list and he hung up on me. I called back again and said, listen I called just before and I asked one of your associates to take me off the list and he hung up on it. He said, sorry about that!! asked my number and asked the name of the person who made the inquiry. I said well it wasn't me and this is my cell phone so NO ONE.. Then they claimed it would take 24-48 hrs to go into effect. If they call again I'm going to start answering "Domino's Pizza" or something to that effect because I'm sick of getting random crap calls and having to change my #.
- J replies to Mike| 13 repliesI got calls from this place and finally called back, it was a big crock of crap. Don't even know how they my number
