Good job!  I didn't put on my post that I also contacted the FTC, BBB, AG's office in NC and Texas (that's where I live).  My state website also says to contact the Governor.

I won't post it here, but if you perform a whois lookup ( http://www.whois.net/ ) on both bcnclaimservices.com and bcnfinincial.com you'll get further proof that this guy Darren Abrams is tied to this.  In fact, for one of his two "businesses," it looks like he lists a home address.  Feed it into Google and you see a decent residential area.  Hmm, wonder how he's paying for that?  From Intellius, it appears he may have also lived in Buffalo, NY.  According to the budhibbs.com web site, that's where some of the most questionable collections operations are.  I'm not saying there's a link, just perhaps coincidence.

Anyone dealing with these clowns, be it Investigator "Dean Avocado", or Investigator "Venus Barnette", or the president (according to Linkedin) Darren Abrams, please report these folks.  To hit closest to home for this outfit file complaints with the Charlotte BBB and the NC Attorney General's office.

Another thing to think of doing in this....  NBC's Dateline expose of sleazy collection operations was excellent.  Maybe Charlotte's NBC affiliate might be interested in talking to people about their experiences with BCN?

CALL THE POLICE ON THEM and tell them you did so if they call again.

NEVER EVER MAKE SETTLEMENT ARRANGEMENTS WITH A DEBT COLLECTOR - IT WON'T LAST 5 MINUTES!   THEY'LL COME RIGHT BACK AT YOU FOR MORE MONEY IF YOU PAY THEM A PENNY !

A 10 year old debt is no longer legally collectable - so they cannot sue you at all.   they may attempt to re-age the debt which is ILLEGAL!

its all scare tactics designed to terrorize you into paying them what you do not OWE!
THEY ARE A SCAM - because they are violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and don't care - they are just trying to scare people into giving credit cards or bank info so they can steal you blind!

    Searching here: http://www.people-finders.ws/Summary.asp?vw=p ... &city=&state=nc

you'll find that Mr. Abrams, if this is the same one, lives/lived in Buffalo, NY.

    Checking this search: http://www.people-finders.ws/Summary.asp?vw=p ... &city=&state=ny

If you go to item seven, you'll learn, perhaps, what BCN stands for: Black Cosa Nostra.

    BCN PRODUCTIONS/ENTERPRISES

    Coincidence?  Surely it must be.

BCN Investigative services has been harrassing my daughter trying to locate me about some civil suit, which doesn't exist.

My suggestion is to put your phone numbers on the DNC list.  Then when they call, tell them that they're in violation.  If they call again, report them to DNC.  $10,000 fine per call reported.

You and your daughter need to file complaints.

File a complaint with the FTC:
    https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

File a complaint with the Charlotte, NC Better Business Bureau:
    http://charlotte.bbb.org/consumers

File a complaint with your home state government's agency which is responsible for protecting consumers.  It may be you state's Attorney General, or you may have a separate consumer protection agency.

The important thing is to not wait.  You need to accurately document what was said in the phone call.  If they call you back, you should consider recording the call ***if you're permitted to do so under the laws of your state*** (see http://www.rcfp.org/taping/ ).

The BCN corporation has estranged me from my family by contacting virtually every person in the state of Minnesota sharing my last name, and even ex-employers. They have contacted even my children and their mother, have my addresses going back 20 years, my social security number and out of date phone numbers and are attempting to collect on a credit card not even in my name. At this time they claim to have a warrant for my  arrest in the state of Minnesota for felony fraud. I can find no listing in any bar association listing anywhere in the country for any firm of greenman schneider associates in any spelling They have insisted they will proceed with my prosecution for a debt, about which I have no knowledge even though the supposed creditor has information, which they are sending, to prove, beyond a doubt, that I have no debt to Sears-Discover of any kind.
