- vampkori replies to catfathey catfat call your state attorney general's office and find out how to report these people they are not attorneys or collectors just a bunch of felons with telephones you can get the forms to make the report online for free just print them fill them out and mail them but also call your attorney general's office
- vampkori replies to Damn near attorneyactually when bcn called me they claimed to already have a decision against me but wouldn't say where and told me i would be jailed for felony credit card fraud, so far i haven't seen any deputies so i am suspicious when anyone on this thread says they have seen a bcn " attorney" as i cannot find any record anywhere in the world for greenman schneider& assoc. they are not registered with the bar association of any government in the world.
- lamet replies to BernwheatYOU HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL WHENEVER YOU GET A DEBT COLLECTION CALL
NEVER EVER ACKNOWLEDGE A DEBT - The debt collection company is required BY LAW to prove that it is your debt AND IT MUST BE IN WRITING.
No Debt Collector can just call you and just demand money from you without FIRST PROVIDING PROOF.. if they refuse - its not legal...
ITS ILLEGAL TO TELL OTHERS ABOUT YOUR DEBT - they can call others to try and reach you 1 time only
THEY CANNOT SAY WHY THEY ARE CALLING. they can only ask for contact info or to pass a message to call back If they told family, friends or employers you have a debt- They broke the law..
There is a KNOWN FAKE DEBT COLLECTOR SCAM
http://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=5621205&page=1
They are hackers who hacked payday loan sites and are terrorizing people with threats of arrest...
EVEN IF IT IS A REAL COLLECTION CALL - There are laws they are required to follow and some of them do not follow the laws at all
FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT.
There is also an articly here on 800notes about dealing with debt collectors.. - Scamanator| 4 repliesGo Here http://www.ncdoj.com/Consumer/2-2-12-File-a-Complaint.aspx
to file a complaint with the North Carolinia Attorney General online.
Several "investigators/agents" from BCN called my mom threating to send a sherif out to arrest me or a civil complaint. Upon my return call to BCN I was asked to give my social security number, my present employer and present address. I believe this company is perpetuating a scam set up to bilk people out of their money.

- Denise replies to Scamanator| 3 repliesBCN first contacted me on Feb 4, 2009. Same deal as everyone else posting here. I was threatened with a civil suit. Like a fool, I agreed to settle for $2500, a far lesser amount than the crazy $10,800 with which they were threatening me. I gave my checking account info and they've been deducting $100 each month. I had lunch with an old friend the other day who happens to be an attorney. She told me to call them back and request a copy of the suit / debt. I just got off the phone with BCN. I spoke to 2 people before an extremely rude manager came on the phone and became very hostile with me even though I had been 100% polite through the entire conversation. He said they have no obligation to provide me with "evidentary disclosure", the original amount of my First USA credit card debt (which is long, long gone from my credit report) or even to provide the name and contact information of the supposed law firm that would be taking me to court. I asked him to temporarily suspend the withdrwals from my bank account so I can contact an attorney and look into this further. Before I could finish my sentence, he said I was guilty of not being willing to settle this matter amicably and he would see to it that I was prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Then he hung up on me.
If you get a call from BCN, DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE. DEMAND all details in writing. If they refuse, hang up on them. Don't let their bullying tactics intimidate you the way it did me.
Now I have to go to the bank and have my account closed for fear they will continue to make withdrawls from it. I also wll be contacting our attorney general. I live in Massachusettets so I'm not sure what they can do for me. When I spoke to a guy called Randy from BCN back in February, he mentioned in casual conversation that he was located in North Carolina. - Denise replies to Denise| 1 replyHere is some additional information from the Charlotte, NC Better Business Bureau's website. I urge anyone who has been harassed or threatened by BCN to contact the BBB.

- MEHuntCaller left a name I could not understand saying there was a "possible" claim to be filed against me. Left a claim number and his call back number. I've sent a certified letter their way which has worked for the calls from Legal Action Recovery of a couple months ago. The text reads as follows:
"Pursuant to my rights under federal debt collection laws, I am requesting that you cease and desist communication with me, as well as my family and friends, in relation to this and all other alleged debts you claim I owe.
You are hereby notified that if you do not comply with this request, I will immediately file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the Washington State Attorney General’s office. Civil and criminal claims will be pursued."

- FloridaThese people are all COLLECTION AGENCIES! They called me from 888-223-4801 and they are also breaking the federal and state laws on consumer rights!! Don't give them any information. They fought me on trying to obtain information and they harrassed my family trying to locate us. It's a scam and they are trying to collect on time barred debt (older than the statue of limitations). I called them back and asked for the President of BCN Darren L Abrams, Jr and I got a Mr. Randy Freeman, supervisor of the floor. I stated the company was breaking the law, I filed complaints with the FTC, FL and NC Attorney General's offices and BBB. I also insisted the CEASE AND DESIST ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION WITH ME OR MY FAMILY BECAUSE THEY ARE SCAMS! He was typing and stated he would not the account they called us on to CEASE AND DESIST. Take note people- if you request they Cease and Desist- they must or they are breaking the law and any attorney in today's times will take your case on. You can sue directly any company (besides direct one you have debt with) IF YOU REQUESTED THEY CEASE AND DESIST! Also send a certified letter to any and all addresses you can find and demand they CEASE AND DESIST. I recommend you all do it if they continue to harrass you

- HexcatmanGot a call on my answering machine from a John Davis. He gave a case # and threatened to have a warrant served by the local sheriff at my home or work place in I didn't return his call. I thought these types of threats were illegal. Also my phone # is on the national "do not call list". I've seen some local lawyers on TV that handle these things, but why should I pay to have this type of call stopped. Although I did see the Dateline special but have forgotten what recourse I have. I'd like to sue the crap out of them.
- Caller: he didn't say
- frustrated replies to BernwheatBCN just called and insisted that they were a legal firm and wanted my last four numbers in my ss#. I asked what for and they first said that hey had to make sure they were talking with the right person. BS I hung up
- Posted Before- eat crap BCNI have posted before on here about BCN. For those of you that paid... your stupid! I have not paid them, nor talked with them any more. It's been a year now and NO JUDGEMENT! I called the county where they were going to file and no... nothing.
They are a rip-off! If they call you.... ask them to send it to you in writing! They wont because there is a law called statue of limitations. If it's been pass that and the original creditor did not file a suite against you in that time frame.... you don't on it. They(BCN) bought your debt of some list and are trying to get you to pay for something you don't on anymore. I would tell them kiss it. When a lawyer calls or a summons comes then go file or go to court and say.... pass time limit, don't owe it.... and the judge will say yep your right it's 10yrs old... dismissed!- Caller: BCN
