Got a call from this number (866-577-8402), did not answer the phone. Sense I work for a local telephone company I was able to looked up the number and (SAME ON ME) we are not suppose to do that.

I've been getting these calls for a month and finally answered today. They mentioned a Hispanic guys name -not me by a long shot. I asked what this was about and they hung up. I called right back and somebody answered. I said I was concerned it was identity theft, what is going on... He didn't even ask who I was, said the same name again -spooky. So must have caller ID and a list right there -as it was not the same person I first spoke to.  Said that the person they were dealing with was going by the book, just gave a wrong number and that I wouldn't be called again. We'll see...

Just as with everyone else, I get several calls every week from this number and "Craig Jepson." I haven't actually answered yet, after reading everyone's feedback. Since they are calling my cell phone, I've been able to block the number so it doesn't ring when they call, but it still shows up on my missed calls list.

I filed a complaint with FTC and added my cell phone to the DNC list. I hope the calls stop eventually. I'm kind of scared to call them back after reading about others' experiences, but I really don't want them to have my number on file anymore. Guess I'll just wait it out a little longer...

Well, I read the comments and also called the number back.  As was the earlier situation with the Aspen card, mine was a Tribute Mastercard that was bought out by Leading Edge.  Problem with Tribute was I wanted to cancel the card when my balance was $350 on a $500 card.  I requested numerous times to close the account and send a final balance for pay off and everyday for a couple weeks the balance went up by $50 - $100 and I couldn't get them to close the account and give me a final balance in writing.  Now this guy says the balance is over $900 - Told him to get screwed and I'll see tham in court.

Every time I have attempted or wanted to answer the call all I get is an automated message that takes a few seconds to play - I would love to tell this guy what I think of him - he is worse than scum.  

Also - there is a second number that is showing up on my caller id when he calls in addtion to this number and unkown.  This other number is

A man calls and tells me it is urgent that I return his call. He says it is not a sales call. He does not give a company name or the nature of his call. It is computer generated and I am tired of it.

I am getting silent calls from 419-537-9395.

My boyfriend is getting a call from another agency on a debt that is so old.  He decided to set the ring tone id for this number on his cell phone at silent and put the name as Hang Up On.  I thought was pretty cool.  I would like to figure out how to just make him go straight to voicemail without even ringing in silent on my phone.

This guy keeps calling me 2 times a day almost everyday, named Craig Jetson and to call him back and it is not a sales call.  After reading all of these messages, I know not to answer the call or return it.  I have been reading Kevin Trudeau's Debt Cures book.  It is very interesting, especially to know that there is a statue of limitations on old debt that cannot be collected after so many years.

You are wasting your time trying to sue them, because they are not in the US, where our laws have no affect. I have been on the do-not-call list for years, and I still get calls. The only thing you can do is get a box that block numbers that you do not want, until the day that they get voice recognition working better. At that point they would have to create a new message every day and change their caller ID every day, and that would cost them. In the future we will eventually have smart voice recognition, that can analyze messages sort of like our brain does. Until then, probably the best solution, is to block every number that is not recognized, or require a password, for the call to go through. Your message could tell them the password so legit callers can call back, which would require a live person calling. And that would cost them too much to be worth while.

As per "LERS" advise above to send them an email. PLEASE DON'T DO THAT. They are scum and can not be trusted. Don't give them any information that they can collect or use against you. I have a relative that use to work for one of these collection agencies for about six months some time back, she told me horror stories about the tactics they use and how the office workers would joke about the calls and hearing people cry on the phone, etc…. They don’t even use there real names when they tell you who they are because they don’t want you to know there real names. It affected her so much seeing how they treat people she finally quick and got a better job.  LOOK OUT – THEY ARE  NOT YOUR FRIEND!

Wow! I have not had a call from him for more than a week.  I wonder if they gave up finally after I never answered my phone/called back.  Watch now I just jinxed myself

Does anyone know yet what this really is?  I got a call from this number on 08/28/08 and they left a VM b/c I dont answer these calls especially while I am at work.  They did not state who they were with or why they were calling and I dont know if it is one of those scams or not so I am not about to call them back.  If they are a collection company, I am curious to know how they got my number, it is a cell and none of my old creditors have my new number??

I dont have any debt with Sears, I have never had credit with them and I dont really shop there.  I have not been in Sears I know in over 3 years.  I dont shop at K-Mart either??

Same as everyone else. Why haven't authorities put a stop to this scam/harassment?
