Got a cal as well from Tony, the number that came up on the caller ID was 1-708-833-8735. I looked it up on google and it goes back to a girl named :

I got this call from Tony, claiming I had won one of 4 prizes, from filling out a sweepstakes in the last 12-18 months, Tony at 1-866-601-8851 x2001. I called back, out of curiosity. Extension 2001 did not exist, so I pressed zero, got a lady (sounded African-American) who answered the phone "Prize Fulfillment Center". Incidentally Tony's message said he was aware I was on the do-not-call list, but it was OK because I had filled out a sweepstakes form (I had not). The receptionist lady said Tony wasn't there, passed me to someone who named John Watts (or so he says) at same number, x1028. John said I'd either won a) a new Lincoln Navigator or $45K, b) a 3 days, 2 nights trip to Mexico, Las Vegas, or Orlando, RT for two people, c) $2500 in cash, d) a 32" flat screen TV. He said 12 people had been selected as winners, and all 12 would get each get one of the above prizes, but to get the prize you have to go to their office at 575 Anton Blvd Suite 300, Costa Mesa, CA to pick it up, at exactly 2PM on Saturday, Sept 12 2009, and listen to a little talk about their company, Global Worldwide Travel, and also participate in their grand opening. He said the giveaway is part of their business opening promotion. He said you can't be late, or else you won't be able to collect your prize. He also said to bring 2 forms of ID, a drivers license and a credit card, but you don't need to provide the credit card number, "just wave it at them". He also said you're not allowed to bring any children or guests. He had me down as married when I wasn't. I told him I did not fill out the sweepstakes form, someone else must have filled my name in. He wanted to make sure my annual income was greater than $45K a year, in order to be able to pay the taxes on the car, in case you win that. He said the only obligation was that you must be willing to participate in their publicizing the winnings if you win the car. I said, what if you win one of the other prizes? He said no need to consent to being publicized. He wanted to know that I was over 30 years old, between 30 and 65, said nobody under 30 can drive the car away. He also said I'd need to fill out a new entry form when I came in, and the information on that form had to match what they had written down (re income, age, and marital status). He said it was NOT a timeshare, no obligation to buy anything. I couldn't hear the whole message on my answering service but Tony might have called from "(inaudible) Summit Center" (three words). I checked RipOff Report.com and someone else has recently posted that "Global Discount Travel" is back, at Anton Blvd #300 in Costa Mesa, and that is a known dodgy travel company/scammer. I googled that address, there are a large number of businesses there, but no Global Worldwide Travel - and this is also not a Google-able business name. (nothing comes up on Google).

This might be a phishing expedition on their part. If they have an RFID reader, they can get your credit card and driver's license info from a distance, if you have a "smart card" type credit card (i.e. with an RFID chip in it). They were not interested in my passport as a form of ID (I asked if that would be appropriate). They said they wanted me to bring a credit card since they are a travel business and want to see that I am the type of person who pays for travel. I said I travel a lot on business, get my own tickets online.

I'm tempted to go by there and take pictures, there are many businesses listed at 575 Anton Blvd, 3rd Floor, Costa Mesa, including several law firms. Ha ha ha.

got tony's call today... same deal, i have won 1 of 4 major prizes and that it is in my best interest to call him back. Oh blow me.

Yup!  Got a call from Tony tonight, too!  Too bad after I take one of my 4 major prizes, there's only 3 left for ya'll to fight over!  ;)  My husband called back and spoke to Gloria...you have to be over 40 to claim your prize - just FYI.  Since neither my husband or I are, she suggested we send someone else over 40 down there to claim our prize - totally believable, right??  Are any of you over 40 and willing to go claim my prize for me??  :)  Call me back, please @ (866) 601-8851 x 1011.

Got the SAME call, from a Tony, but when I called back, I got "John Watts" cause tony was on the phone. Some story as everyone else.  Stating to meet on the 16th (Tomorow) at 4. but apparently, it had my age wrong so they 'won't be giving me the car' And also didn't use my name. Supposedly, i'm supposed to go to the Wyndam ath the Jacksonville River Walk. Also, stated this was a "New company' Which is why i wasn't able to google them... anyone know what happens if you show up?

Put me on your list for litigation Tony. My number is on the do not call list and you are in violation..

Also received the call from Tony - won 1 of 4 prizes in a contest I entered in last 12 to 18 months --- INTERESTING AS I NEVER ENTER ANY CONTESTS!  NEVER FILL OUT THOSE PAPERS AT ANY STORES! I'm also on Do Not Call list so go for it Tony --- CREEP!  (can't call you a critter as critters are nicer)  Why can't these people get a legitimate job????

Tony, you're using the same tactics with most everybody here, and it sounds like a couple people did call you back.  

The tone you used on my voicemail sounds like you're getting on my case for not returning any of your many calls.  You also stated that "It will be in your best interest to call me back as soon as possible at 866-601-8851, etc."  

If you did call before, you have never left me a voicemail message and if you had left me one I was not suspicious of, I might have called you back.  But there are a lot of you out there... why not just mail me a certified letter, like Ed McMahon did?  After all, either I won a car or I won one of three or four other great prizes.

I just recieved a call from this number but extension 1019 from Helen and all I did was give her my first name and she was able to give me my last name. She also told me that since I wasn't between the ages of 35-75 I had to have someone else claim my prize that was tomorrow at 7pm. How is it legal for someone else to claim my prize? My caller id read the number as 773-790-4360 but was told to call back at 866-601-8851.

Same call received on Monday Sept 23.  Clearly a scam.  Asked me to go to Wyndham hotel in Jacksonville.  Said I had won one of three prizes and would take about 90 mins to pick up my prize....message had me call 866-601-8851 and speak to Tony.  Left message.  when they called back 773-663-4369 was on caller ID

I got a call from Sheriz, that I won a car from a contest that I had entered 12-18 months ago, never identified me.  He said that this was not a telemarketer or Timeshare etc. etc etc.  It was a time limited call and that it would benefit me to call back immediately. It sounded fishy so I didn't call back.

Unfortunately, I'm about forty pounds overweight.  You'll never win a slender suit against me!

Exactly.  You win the free trip, but it ends up costing you more than if you  just went out and booked it yourself.  This is an old one.  If you search hard enough you'll find a case where a guy attended one of these presentations, went for the deal, got screwed, and ending up winning a lawsuit for a couple of grand.

Wants me to call back since I won a free car - no gimmicks . . . . RIGHT!

I have a caller id spoofer (handy to play tricks on friends). When I set it up to show a DC number and it say FTC Task Force, they hung up on me and told me I had the wrong number. There's no Tony or John. I kept calling back like 20 times. :) HILARIOUS!

I picked up and said hello.  Guess I'm not very creative in the way I answer the phone.  Anyway after a pause a gentleman came on the phone and said that he got the wrong number.  He apologized and hung up.  I did recognize the voice as someone who had called here before about winning a prize.  Gee, suppose they finally got the idea that I'm not interested and called by mistake?

Thank you so much for the call!!  However, I don't think I'll be needing any of your great "prizes" since I can now make my fortunes as a PSYCHIC!  Woo hoo!  Yep, I MUST be a Psychic given that while I "may" have filled something out, I did NOT get the phone# you called until a few months ago.  So the only explanation as to why I would have listed this # 12 - 18 months ago is that I truly am indeed Psychic. Wait...ummm...I see something...  YOU SCAMMING PEOPLE!

yep got the same call from Tony today, I'm not suppose to ignore his call (it would be in my best interest not to he said), and I got the same extension 1011. It's a scam OBVIOUSLY! LOL If there are only 4 prizes why is he calling so many people..LOL...A fool who follows a fool is following the fool that the first fool followed.
All fools are followers of fools...including the one that appears to lead the fool.
