So far, 4 calls today. How much money is Ma Bell making on these numbers?

I called the number and it indicated "Fortune 500"

They've called twice in a two hour period. Very annoying.

I called MBNA's 24/7 customer service line.  I told them I was not a card holder but was receiving numerous telephone solicitations for products and credit cards.  The customer service rep took my name, address and phone number and assured me that he would remove my name from the calling and mailing list immediately(I was getting junk mail too).  It would be 60 days before the calling should stop and 90 days before the mailing should stop and my name should remain off lists for 3 years. The number as posted on MBNA's website is (800)404-1319.  I took down the rep's name and made note of the date and time of my call. We'll see what happens.  Even if it works out, I'm annoyed at how much time and energy I spent to just get this far in order to stop calls to a private line.  There's got to be a better lobby for citizens to get action and Bell has some complicity in this.

Called the number, got a garbled message: "Thank you for calling, you have reached the english do not ...... information services, working on behalf of Fortune 500 companies. If you wish to have your phone number removed from our call list, please press 1.... "

Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have NEVER answered the call before, I was tempted to answer it when they called a few minutes ago because if someone is THAT eager to talk to someone in my household, it must be an emergency, but I guess not, this is really annoying!! Seems like they're calling all across ontario.

This phone number calls me everyday a few times a day. Today I received a phone call from the number at 9:32am. Really annoying since I was still asleep! I've called it back before and there is a recording in a female voice that says the call is from Transwork information systems on behalf of a fortune 500 company. You can have your number removed by pressing 1 and then inserting your phone number or press 2 to leave a message. If you remove your number it says it will take up to four weeks.

In Calgary, Alberta..Got a call from 866-629-7707.. called the number back ..recording "The number you've called is not assigned"

Call from MBNA Mastercard.  Asked for information to confirm id.  When they wanted my birth date, I refused.  They sure insisted.  I told them I would phone MBNA which I did.  They told me NOT to give them any info.  So when they call back I told them the same.  They would NOT take no for an answer.  Anyhow the call is from India.  (this is what the guy told me anyway)  Were supposed to call back once more the next day after I told them that I would check with MBNA again.  (only way out of the phone call)  Nobody ever phoned again... Thank you God.

MBNA - caller with extremely poor english kept referring to my "unendorsed Platinum Mastercard" and wanted to update my financial information.  When I stated that I didn't have an MBNA MC and therefore wanted to know why they seemed to think I did, the woman kept trying to end the call, I asked to speak to a supervisor, she put me on hold, then disconnected the line.  I called the number back, got the "we work for Fortune 500 Companies" message and was given the option to remove my number or leave a message.  Not able to speak with anyone.

same deal.  they call me at least 3 or 4 times a week, never leave a message, and when I answer nobody is there or they hang up.

Marketing calls..... annoying...........

Same number, several times a day at work (in Sask. so I think they're calling all over the country)! Picked up once, heard the silence, and quickly hung up (although I did hear someone say "hello" just as I was doing so). I think next time I'm going to answer the phone, with a very authoritative voice and say "Royal Mounted Police - Harrassment Division - This is Constable Johnson - How may I help you?" and see what happens.

I got call many times,yes it is very boring,also never I heard NO sound on the line,very harrasing,always like that...
I hope the autorithy shall do something to stop this...

They call and call and no one is there. Worst telemarketer ever! No one to yell at! Its pretty lame and bothersome.

these people have been calling for about one month and everytime we picked up the phone noone answered. they called on my moms cell, my cell and my dads cell I mean thats crazy. today my mom had enough and decided to blast them. my mom started askin a whole bunch of questions and apparently they are calling from INDIA!!!! theres no MBNA IN INDIA even i know that. what ever you do not give out your personal information!!!!!!

Yes they are trying to sell you insurance, and part of their trick is to have someone who can hardly speak english on their end trying to confuse you.  I actually took the call on a Friday night after having one too many and did sign up for their stupid crap.  However, one phone call once sober got it cancelled with no jumping backwards through hoops.  However, they just started calling me again after a few months of quiet.

I recieved a call from 1-866-629-7707 just moments ago.  An East Indian man was on the line (laughing) claiming to be from MNBA and asked for my boyfriend by his last name.  I asked to take a message, as he was not home, and (laughing again) he said "no." He asked who he was speaking with and if I would be interested and I just hung up the phone. I am sick and tired of these types of calls, as we get at least one a day!

I just got the phone call from MBNA wanting to approve my mailing details so they could sign me up for the mastercard. I just told them I wasn't interested. I have now added them to my privacy manager so that they will get Zapped the next time they call. The message that is going to play says "We do not accept telemarketing calls, please remove us from your calling list as required my federal law" We will see what that does.
