They had my last 4 also so scares me too, dont give them nothing as I believe that is all the info they had just a scam if it was a legit business they would send the paperwork to you its the law.

I received a call today from a "processor for the state of Texas" on an "unavailable" number; basically saying the same thing. That I will be served at my job and and my place of residence and that I'll need to show proof of ID. etc... She left the 866-680-8956 phone number for me to call and a case number... and like you, she too read off the last 4 of my SSN. But she did not confirm herself to be an officer of the courts. Whoever they are, they're not legit. Because I know when you have a warrant/court summons, the sheriff/local authorities/officer of the court will find you and just show up unannounced and serve you.

I must thank everyone who has posted on here. Same MO on the phone message I received. I will put this on the back burner. They are getting very aggressive. They said that they were going to serve me and my place of employment and even said she was a License Process Server for the State of Washington. Any feedback would be wonderful.

They call and say they are going to be at your door with a summons in 2 hours unless you call 866-680-8956 with a case # and set up payments.
Ask them to give you validated notice thru mail or email before paying anything.

i received a call from an unknown and was left a voicemail with the 866 680 8956 to call back and had a case number as well and its from cash advance loan I received 10 years ago and was unable to pay back so the claim is correct but they were saying I had til 11am tomorrow to set up payment or be taken to court ....something doesn't seem right with this can anyone tell me anything about this

same thing with me and yes he had last four of my social and it was a real debt from 10 years ago and the bank I used at that time but its not legit and florida statute of limitations is 5 years so they cant do anything anyways

Do not fall for this.  They are not legit and will not show up at your hime or office.  They are just scam artist trying to scare you so you will give them money.  Scum of the earth!!!

they just called me and asked if I was available. I told them that I was not available and pretended not to be me. they proceeded to give me a toll free number to call back and the case number and said that they would be here in the morning to serve papers to me and that I needed to call that number back to see if I can have the charges dropped. I don't know of any legitimate collection agency that gives out the account number or case number to somebody who is not the person they need to speak to. this is a scam do not give them any of your information I have been called multiple times throughout the last 2 years I have paid the debt once I will not pay it again. each time they call they say they are sending someone out to serve me papers yet they never show. They did the same thing to my mom who is an elderly lady and had her so scared that she had to go to the hospital for severe chest pain from a bad anxiety attack.

Omg the same thing happen to me and I'm in Michigan. I have been served before and they don't call but they will find you. They told me that they are serving me my papers on Woodward I said okay. The had a former address of minesv and gave a case number. I asked for paperwork my signature and anything else that will indicate it's mines. They tons me ace cash express I tired to locate everything with no luck at all. I cashed that same number they were rude and not helpful. It worries me that they can do this. I have now filled complaints. Sad

An actual Process Server is not going to have any conversation with you about any debt you owe, nor will they demand payment from you. If something like this happens, immediately call local law enforcement and make a full report including as much descriptive information as you can give them of the person impersonating a court officer.

This is horrible that someone from a unavailable number can call give you a case number tell you to call the 8666808956 number then you call she told me ours from 2008 we have a video of you coming into the office. I said so what's the place name and number she said ace cash express and you will be sued for this. She said give me your address I said no of you have the address then go to that place. I said can I have the name and address of ace cash express she said look it up. I said no give it to me. She said I don't know you know where you went find it. If it's legit they have to prove my signature along with documents. She said you can't write bad checks and it bounce when we try to get our money back. If this is legit u can prove me more than just your mouth. Something don't seem right

Have you taken the time to read the previous answers?

It is my understanding these people dig up past debts that have been written off and are past the statue of limitations for collection. So they try to collect the money by scamming it out of you. Do not fall for it. Same call here in OR today. Do not admit to any debts that they mention even if they are legit but you just couldn't pay them. Statue of limitations here in OR is 6 years. After this time they cannot collect from you unless you say the debt is yours.

I received a complaint from someone who stated she was a legal processor for the state of California.  She did this while eating food and smacking on the phone.

Seriously?  I mean seriously?  Come on CR legal ... or however you claim to be ... at least make an attempt at being professional.

I received a call from this gentleman claiming to be a prosecutor in the state of PA and informing me that I have two complaints filed against me and that they were to be visiting my employer and my residence and that this man received a fax from a company called CR Legal Services.  The man didn't inform me when somebody would be visiting me just that they would.

You are NOT warned if a summons is coming.  Was your name mentioned in the call??  Demand written proof of the 'problem' that is mailed to you.  Phone calls, emails, faxes. Ad texts are NOT official notification.  In also doubt the caller is a real attorney..illegal to claim that too.

Someone just called me on a number that I don't even use. She asked for me and I pretended to be someone else.  I asked would she like to leave a message and she gave me the reference number along with the phone number to call back and If I wanted to straighten this out and she also said she was calling to verify my address.  Really. The number she gave is 1-866-680-8956
