I just got another call from this phone number harassing me into thinking that there was a warrant out for my arrest out for me.  I do not use any check cashing place.  They have harnessed my family many times and tried to get my 85 year old dad to pay fee that they cannot explain.

Just got a call and it was unavailable when I answered which guy said his name was William Martin and his id employee number 116736 and that he was serving my wife a summons out of New York that he got a fax today and it was a sealed document that he had no idea what it was about. Weird he had a fax of a summons and it was sealed.

An actual Process Server is not going to have any conversation with you about any debt you owe, nor will they demand payment from you. If something like this happens, immediately call local law enforcement and make a full report including as much descriptive information as you can give them of the person impersonating a court officer.

I live in Wisconsin and I just had the exact same phone call from a Marisa Collins claiming to be a licensed Wisconsin process server. She stated she will be showing up at my current address and my place of employment to serve me and I will have to show proper ID.

the first person who called me said they were with the county of virginia. and gave me the 866 # & a case # to get more information. and told me that someone was cming to my house within the hour to "serve me" so i called the 866 # and they too said it was from a payday loan from 2007 and said that they spoke to me back in 2009 and i had agreed to go get a prepaid visa and call them back to make the full payment. THIS NEVER HAPPENED  !! i asked for documentaion & a copy of the so called check in question and non of it can be  provided to me. they said that if i want to dispute it, i can take it to court and face possible jail time for the bad check. the check was written for 444.00 and now with interest they say its 709.00 !! these people are liars  && and scammers !!!! dont verify your ssn with them, and dont confirm or give them any other personal information.

Wow these people are something else. They just sent a voicemail directly to my cell phone looking for someone else (i.e. a digital message was sent without making an actual call, probably in attempt to skirt some state collection laws about calls). The message was similar to the ones reported previously:

"Hello [name] this is Cassandra Wilson, a state process server with the State of Florida contacting you about paperwork they've 'axed' that I deliver to your home and a possible place of employment. I have an address on [***] Road and [***] Road as well a possible place of employment. Either yourself or an attorney that's gonna represent you on the case could contact the complaining party. There is a case number listed as 866...I'm sorry phone number 866-680-8956 along with a case number that they are uh, saying you can refer to. F as in Frank, L as in Lima, seven zero zero ... two zero five. Good luck Mr. [name]"

Ok, first off, what everyone else said. No process server would ever warn you they are coming. Their job is to deliver papers, primarily to people who don't want them, so it is contradictory to their paycheck to let you know they're coming. Second, it's criminal fraud to impersonate a state official as was done on this call. This person is NOT with the State of Florida (I am though). The personal information is from the credit file, not from any court case. OK, now it would be way out of bounds of the rules of civil procedure for a process server to recommend you contact a complainant prior to service, or ever. In many cases, it would violate court rules if a case had actually been filed (disclaimer - I'm not a lawyer and that's not legal advice). Lastly, the bogus 'case number' is I suspect actually the collector's 'account number' for this person. All federal and state courts that would have jusridiction over any criminal or debt matter in this area have some derivative of the date the case was filed as part of the case number, and it's not 2070, so no, this is not a real state court case number. Also, process servers must be licensed, and a quick license search on the FAAPS web site reveales there is no licensed person in this state with a last name of Wilson and a first initial of C.

I received the voice mail yesterday and called back today. She told me that she had legal documents for fraud under a last name I haven't had for years. I told her I filed a no asset bankruptcy that was final early this year. She said she saw the bankruptcy but fraud cannot go on a bankruptcy. I said "I have been threatened before with fraud by you people (meaning scammers)"... she got mad about the "you people" comment and told I can just sign off on my papers and go to court. She hung up on me. Bwahahaha

If you had a previous payday loan that is how they got your info. They are scammers.

I received a call from the same number saying they have papers I need to sign. They were coming to my home or my job to have me to sign the paperwork. And have a attorney I'm so glad I check it out online.

They called from a unknown number with the same story as was told to everyone else. With the same 1866 number telling me they are Amy. Glad I saw this online.

I just received a call like this today and they had the last 4 digits of my SS#.... That really bothers me.... Is there anything that you know of that i can do to protect myself from these people? I am concerned more about that than i am about the call and saying they are going to serve me... My husband got one last year and it was a man that was extemely RUDE and very disrespectful thank goodness we did our research before being scared into paying money... These people are out of control and should be caught and put in jail.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

I received a call today identifying herself as a "processor for the state" and they will be serving me at my home address as well as my job.

My message also ended with "Good luck"

Legitimate process servers do not call to warn you, or to get money from you to stop the process.  They will deliver the notification without warning.

Definitions, if you need 'em:
* A =summons= is an official notice of a lawsuit. It is given to the person being sued (the defendant).
* A =subpoena= is a court order. It requires someone to come to court, go to a deposition, or give documents or evidence.
* =Papers= is a word sometimes used by scammers, as a scare word.  Legal documents can be sent via Certified mail. A courier is not absolutely necessary, although  the Sheriff, Constable, or a Bonded Licensed Process Server might be used.  Such people will have appropriate ID.

Same thus as everyone else is saying. A call from he 18666808956 saying they are a processor or something of that nature of the state PA. I know that my bills are paid. Plus those cash places haven't used in over 8 years they need to leave people alone and work for there money just like everyone  else. And leave the elderly alone.

Called both my home and cell numbers, both times showed up as unknown caller but left a message stating my name and a case number, caller identified himself as Timothy Canterbury from some garbled name business. He stated in both messages, like it was scripted, that a legal document with my name and SS # attached. They needed to come by my home for to drop off legal documents to be signed for, sent by a complaining party. He ended it with "you have been officially notified. Failure to comply will result in legal action being taken with or without your knowledge." I called the number they gave me with my "case number" and there was no file that they could find when I called. I'm bothered that they had my name, both phone numbers, and evidently my SS #.

I just got the call from the same people. Unfortunately I have been a victim to one of these scams before so I decided to research immediately. I am grateful for this database and all of you fine people. Thank you

I also got the same phone call saying they wanted me to call them back and that they would come to my house or my job I live in RI and this is not the first time I have gotten a call like this. I was also give a case number the funny part is, is that they have been calling my fathers house for the past 2 weeks or so saying the same thing and at the end of the message the lady says GOOD LUCK!! Who does that these people need to get a life seriously I will not fall for that
