I just learned three days ago July 18, 2011 that unaccounted money was taken from my bank account. I telephoned my bank on that day about the missing money. I was told it was a purchased from ITune but I could not file a claim until it appears on my transaction list. This morning I checked my on-line banking transaction and saw two purchases from APL ITunes/Infinite Loop (866) 712-7753, California. I do not live in California. Today I have to film claim with my bank now that it appears on my transaction. I hope somebody file a lawsuit, I would be willing to join.

All of these bogus charges started right after I bought an iPod touch for my son at Best Buy.  I have never used iTunes and do not have an account

Just hit today. Single charge of $46.56. Froze account. Amazing this is still happening. I don't have anything Apple so it was a red flag as soon as I saw my statement for my bank account.  Glad I check it every day.

I just checked my Discover account and saw a strange charge of $43.91 from Apple Itunes store on August 1st.  I have never dealt anything with them.  I called Discover to close and open a new account.  I don't know how they got my account information.

I bought ipod touch for my daughter in June for her birthday.  To date there were charges out of my account totalled to 68.40 and now trying to get to the bottom of it.  I called 1-866-712-7753 and directed me to www.apple.com/support/cc.  I would have liked to talk to someone but I guess I am not going to get any response, it seems like this is a fraud.

same as everyone here, got c/c statement, found charge to apple itunes store 866-712-7753CA for $105.89, not made by me, called c/c company to start fraud investigation and cancel card.  do this fast, like others say, they do this quick with one transaction then hit you harder and for more money if you don't act.  hope these scammers know there's a special place in hell waiting for them.

On last months bill I saw my Discover Card was charged $19.66  by APL*ITUNES 866-712-7753 CA.  My wife and I discussed it at the time and neither of us had made a purchase but the alarm bells didn't go off so I didn't think it necessary to pursue.  Today (Aug 23) the Fraud Prevention folks at Discover called to ask if we had made a $9.96 purchase at 0658 this morning to someone identifying themselves as a doctor in Comstock, Utah.  After confirming with my wife that we had no knowledge of this party or a purchase to them, I called Discover and they cancelled the card.  Had Discover NOT called me today about a possible fraudulent charge, I hate to think of what might have happened...even though they assured me I would not be responsibe for charges I didn't make.  I had completely forgotten about the Apple charge from last month but was reminded of it by my wife and called Discover back to let them add it to their investigation.

Maybe Nessie is affiliated with the 866 number and is trolling with false info so that others will keep using that number.

    Hello everyone.

I am just curious as to whether or not we can make a legitimate connection here. Perhaps we all made purchases from the same internet website and they are not on a protected server plane?? I am unsure to be honest with you but my story is just the same as all of yours so no need to repeat it.

What I am interested in is stopping this theft and having the thieves prosecuted for fraud but none of us can do this if continue to only place the story here without finding the common thread. Nessy is untrustworthy source if anyone were to ask me because she made absolutely no sense with her response nor clarity as to whether or not she/he actually made a purchase from itunes.

I do not shop online. I made 3 purchases recently:
                      Amazon.com
                      Walmart.com
                      Target.com

Were any of these websites used by you guys as well?

What I do notice with these websites is that they ALL store your card information in your online account section for future purchases.  Perhaps this is where the thieves are going to get the information from???

Lets tie this thread together and get these [***] who are playing with our money.

Also, to be on the safe side, I suggest if you are using these sites, be sure to remove your card information so that it can not have a potential hacker in the future.

If you guys would like to respond, please email me individually. I do not want to open a connection for scammers to find more connections. But, I would like to know so that I may proceed with corrective action in an organized manner. (THEBETTERDAYS@HOTMAIL.COM) Please do not give me your personal information, just the SHOPPING sites you have used would be perfect.

Yes...got the same deal...$180 total withdrawn....then $80 deposited....I got a call a couple days earlier.  Somebody informed me there was fraud on my account, said they had all my info.  Gave me a number, case file, etc.  Only thing they asked for was the 3 didget number on the back....to confirm  I was the card holder.

Turns out this is a scam.  My bank said their were several folks who had this happen.  My suspicion is that bank employees use laptops from unsecured locations.  I'm not sure how they get all the information when they call.....but....something is wrong.

just got hit like 5 times with some jerk using apl itunes also! good thing i get online alerts on transactions made online! i immediately reported it and my bank red flagged all those transactions. I even had two transactions with $0.00 amt on them? I had one from Google charging me $1.00? when did google start charging right? I do have Itunes and I have a different cc there which was expired already so really, i dont think Itunes had anything to do with all these fraudulent transactions. Hope my post helps.

I have chase alerting me about purchases over a certain amount via text message. I freaked out when I got a charge of 99.99 from APL iTune so I called my credit card company. As I was talking to them, I get another text message for 49.96. I haven't used my iTunes account in years, I didn't even remember my password! So I reset my account and see what this jerk brought, I still had .58 cent in my account and an inactive credit card number, so it's NOT Apple. Called Chase who cancelled my CC account and refunded me. This fraud is still going on in Oct. 21, 2011.
