2 calls in less than a week.  Customer service rep from TELMATE , the company the 866-713-4761 number goes to said both times that no calls had been made to my number.  TELMATE seems to be a legit company.  Think perhaps someone else is calling and making it appear that the call is coming from TELMATE.  Says on recording that you need to provide info such as social security number.  Sure sounds like a scam to me.  My calls supposedly came from Saskatoon Correctional Centre.  Couldn't hear any name.

Got a call from this number. Went to voicemail. Listened to message. It was a call that warrant an accept from me and that the call was a 3-way call. Whoever called tried 3 times. Don't know anybody from this number.

I have someone in Calgary remand, andy calls that are local are all free, they have to put your number on a list to call it, so they obviously think that they have the right number, if yo answer it u can tell them its the wrong number u will never get the call again.  Money is on their card to call out. if it is collect it will cost u what 3 00 dollars to tell the person wrong number so u never get the call again.

you can go on line to telemate and put money on their phone for them...  they are not allowed cards, the jail has their own system

its the call system for jails in canada .. simply answer, its automated ... choose an option, one of which is "do not call anymore" or talk to your freind in jail.. it will give the name in their voice before you need to choose an answer... its a great way to tell your Xie. "no i don wann fkin talk to you!"

ps, if you dont answer it doesnt log the call. so dont "not answer" and then call them back, as they will have no record or no idea as they handle all jails

I just receive a phone call...and the record machine was telling me the phone call was from a correctional centre...

Does anyone know what time am inmate call? There must be a cut off time but what time is it?

Might be a legit number but I don't think it's a legit call. Got a phone call on my cell phone from this number (which is apparently a Canadian prison number). I'm in the US and don't know anyone in Canada. Also got a text message transcript that had the name Christian mentioned (weird...never got a sms transcript before.) I think it's an attempt to scam.

Got a call at the office on the main office line while in a meeting.  Went straight to voicemail.  Googled the number and found this.  Thanks for all the responses.  Reported it to our tech department.

i am receiving calls from the new edmonton remand centre however the number shows exactly as this...+1 (1) (866) 713-4761. does anyone know why it shows so many numbers on my screen. is it being 3 way maybe or not legit??

They serve Canada and the US. And if you know someone in jail but didn't recognize the name of the person calling you, it may be someone you know using another inmates account. My boyfriend does this when he doesn't have money on his telmate account

Sometimes it shows that way on my phone too. But it's legit.
