Why would someone want you to call them back , especially that you do not know.
Call you friends only. Call your family, call your kids.

It's legitimate. Telmate is how people in custody make phone calls. A customer of mine called from the local jail to discuss how he would get payment to me. He can't just call people from there, it goes through Telmate. No scam here.

Called, went to VM, which left a partial message about pressing 1/2/3 and something about a $3 charge if I accepted. Don't think I know anyone in prison, so I'm just going to hope it was a wrong number.

"This is a free call from an inmate". The small sound snippet of the male's voice said "It's me calling from Headingly". Headingly is the nearby federal prison.

I do not know anyone in prison, and I did not recognize the voice. The number of local males who
are likely to have my phone number memorized is next to zero. I refused the call.

Got a call twice from this number . Missed both .
First time talked to someone  they gave me a name of who called me Neil gladue .
Got another call today and missed it.
Call the number and talked to someone and they said they cannot give out the name it's against the rules due to Canadian act of somthing . So I continued on saying the last time I called they gave me the name why can't u do it now .
Seems spammy to me

Received a call over the weekend around 10pm. Call sounded suspicious and I don't know anyone in prison so I hung up and blocked the number. Noticed a few days later that my voicemall inbox was full! All calls from Telmate. Not sure how the inmate got my number, but i unblocked the number so next time he calls i can choose the option to block all incoming calls from that inmate. Hopefully that works, if not i'll call Telmate to discuss having my number removed or blocked from their call-out list.

Keep calling many times but only today and yesterday was already 8x. Goes to answering machine. Just annoying.

I had the same thing. A guy why sounded sorta Hispanic asking where Jamie was. He was looking for area code 204 I'm 207 he was pissed off too. Lol

A guy named Cody from a correctional facility but i couldn't understand the recording. Asked for Jaime and thought I was keeping them from the call. I had to hang up. Thought it might be a scam.

My mom got 5 calls from them in the last two Days... Looked the number on Google and it if from jail but the weird thing is that it Says the number if from either Alberta or Saskatchewan but we live nowhere Near There.

Got many calls some one right after another. Today 4 calls. A week or so ago 3. Now on my permanent block list.

Voicemail mail left saying an inmate was trying to contact me DO NOT ANSWER!!!

This ph# called I never answer unknown calls keep these LOSERS away frome me. A partial msg was left on the answering machine. I notified the police they said don't answer !!

I received the same call, could not understand the name of the caller, hung up. I came here to check it out.  1-866-713-4761. But I now no one that it could have been.

I pressed 1 and then The dial tone came on and  then said “ thank you for using telmate “ .. has this happened to anyone before? And they have not called bCk since then.

I donor on now anyone in this place.  I have blocked it but still it is going to my voice mail on my cell phone.  Please have them stop calling me if you can.  Thank you
