This number is the collection division of Amazon.

It is either Amazon credit or PayPal credit (Premier bank) calling about a late payment.

I have no account with Amazon or Paypal.  I buy a lot from Amazon but it's paid for at time of purchase. I don't charge anything.  So I'm not sure the idea that it HAS to be Amazon is correct.
They call here every morning between 8 and 8:30am. Great!!! now that the kids are out of school, they are still going to be awaken at 8am.  I would really like to know WHO they are. It ISN'T Amazon.

I got a call from this number saying I was behind on my amazon.com bill. They did not identify themselves as GE Money. they asked for my credit card information to pay my bill over the phone without a fee.  Being that I just paid my bill on the beginning of the month, I knew something was wrong. I suggested that I would pay my bill on my own over the computer. he then told me he would note on my account that I was going to pay my bill myself.

Day and night these idiots call me.  I have no Amazon debt and no way am I giving anyone my SS#.  Finally I downloaded a call blocking app and added their number.  They still call, but at least my phone doesn't ring and their messages automatically delete.

They are constantly calling my cell at any time of the early morning to a serious amount of times during the day and night.  it is getting disgusting and constant harassment.  I pay my bill more than the minimum every month and don't appreciate or need someone to remind me of payment if this is amazon.  Something should be done about this constant harassment!!!!

they will not stop calling do not know who they are. Call day and night. We blocked them so it only rings once but allllllll the time. Someone should be able to force them to stop!!!!

I got an Amazon card serviced by Synchrony bank and charged three things on it, then misplaced the card and reported it lost, but paid what I believed to be the full amount due.  I then began getting hang up calls from Synchrony multiple times a day, and finally got a paper bill showing that I owed $170. I don't know what for--I called the number on the paper statement and asked for verification of the debt, and asked the the calls stop, but also read the back of the paper statement--which says that to dispute a bill you must contact them IN WRITING. I did that, via certified mail.  Today I got an e-mail link to a 'response' latter which said that it could not provide a copy of a December statement because I had not purchased anything in December.  And the calls began again.   I finally answered one and told the person (talking over her when necessary) that I wasn't sure they were who they said they were, that I had sent a certified letter, and I was waiting for written copies of appropriate bills.   I also looked  up the Fair Debt Collection Practices act to see if these frequent, hangup phone calls (no message left) are legal.  There is a lot in the link, but one of the things a collector cannot do is "repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone".  It falls under "Harassment".  They also cannot continue to call once you have requested in writing that they not do so.   Here is more information on the Fair Debt Collection act:  http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

Says it's sychrony bank for amazon.com my  amazon is not through them and I'm not passed due. They want my social security number and i will not give it.

I have an app called true caller that shows it as Numbercop says 1298 people reported this as spam, I have an amazon account that has always been paid ay least a week in advance. Have been getting calls from several different numbers that this site shows as Amazon.

Nope.  I'm current (paid it last week, and it's due next week, so I'm actually ahead) and suddenly they're robo-dialing me, and telling me I have to call them back.  I have *no* idea why.

No it isn't. It is Amazon looking for a payment on either their inhouse credit card or their regular credit card. No sham at all.
