I called the company that I had owed money to and they said they never sent my account to a collection agency, so where these crooks got my information is beyond me. Now that company has the information as well though.

I also called the Georgia Attorney General's office. They said to contact the Georgia Bar association and the Federal Trade Commission. Since I could not understand the name of the "law firm" on the voicemail, I don't know that I will contact the Georgia Bar Association.

It happened again today. This time they say it's a consumer credit card. I told him he may be a law office, but not one that is going to get my money.  I received two calls in a row on my answering machine and have saved them both. Then I called the account they say I "defaulted on". Of course, I hadn't and the account put a flag on it saying this had happened. I told him he was a scam and he says "I'm a scam?" Well you are going to get sued!"  BEWARE! DO NOT GIVE THESE CREEPS ANY INFORMATION!

saying if i dont respond there going to sue or something,now the sad fact is that i do owe bank of america,around 5000 dollars,ive been out of work for 2 years,now im looking for work,and will get work soon,ive sent them email and left message to that fact,and that they send paper work on who they are representing and how much i owe them,so that i have documents,because otherwise i could get scammed,has anyone ever got them to send paper work?
or have been sued by them?any info would be great

Called looking for a relative - saying he wanted to help them prevent a problem.  NOT!  They are looking for mom to try and get money from my fathers estate.  There isn't any.

It seems that Hanna will lie on court affidavits about his position and most affidavits attached are bogus in the information stated. Fred J. Hanna is NEVER to be trusted, his court filings should ALWAYS be challenged, and he has been known to lie about trivial and major items. Fred is concerned about one thing; separating you and your money.

My parents got a msg on their answering machine:

Funny thing is- I havent't lived with my parents for over 10 years!!

They've received three calls so far.  I'm currently deployed to the "desert", the last thing I need is my family harrased by some bogus debt collection agency.  They must share info- this is the second one to bug me this year.  

Has anyone found a way to make them stop?

My daughter received 2 message phone calls from this number on her cell phone very similar to all the above.  Fortunately she called to ask me where the area code was.  I googled the 866 and put the number in and found this site.  I am glad she was not caught up in this as she is not particularly savvy on scams, being young and gullible.

Caller "Rodney Thomas" called stating he's calling from a law office of Fred Hannah & Assoc and had a case number. I've had calls like this before and they appear to be fraudulant. They call only my work number. The name they call me by isn't even the name on my credit records. I've had police look into this as well for me and it's a scheme. Don't call them back as you will experience harassment and belittling language.

I have recently been contacted by Frederick J. Hanna and they are threatening to sue me for my debt owed.  I want to pay my debt but I can not pay in full at this time, what other options do I have and can they take my home?

Yes, I just a got a call from these people too. And the man verbally assaulted me over the phone. It was awful and upsetting. They said they were "retained" by someone, and were going to "summons" me to appear. It was just a bad call...they even called my office!

Got a call from this number.  Doesn't say what company he's calling from.  I'm not returning a phone call to someone when i don't know what company they're calling from.

I recieved a call this morning from a Mrs. Brown. I'm going through CareOne Debt services and they said to be calm and get the firms name, address, and phone #. This person started right off with the usual comments of, " when we sue you this company will not be in court with you and yadda yadda. " Also she wanted to know who was representing me but quickly rambled on with her own agenda. I tried to pleasently ask her for the required information and was cut off and would not just give coresspondence  info. Nor did she tell me which card they were collecting for. She said I was being taped. So I hung up. I came here and found some relief in my readings.Hope you do to!

received many phone messages from this phone number 866-811-1159.  They called when my son was home and he pretended to be me.   They told him that I owed 12K in Bank of America charges.  My son told them that it sucked to be them and hung up.   He called me to confirm that I didn't have that credit card which I don't.   So I called the number to get infomration and they tried to tell me they were a law office of Fredick J hanna in Marietta GA and a subsidary of the main office in St. Louis MO.
I asked they why they keep calling, they took my name and said they didn't have my name in their data base and that there must have been a mistake.  Beware, It sounded like a scam of some kind and they don't want you calling on them.

not trying to piss you guys off, but these attempts to collect are real, they do have the ability to sue, and Fred will.. you can work things out, but hanging up, avoiding the calls and all the other things people do to avoid these calls, make things much worse...I hated working there, but guess what,, it is a job, and it pays pretty decent...I would advise that you do take the time to discuss your issues with them, bank of america has auth them to sue to resolve these debts, and fred has attorneys working with him in every city in the usa...I know you all think that I am scum, but that doesn't bother me...just trying to help out,, and don't listen to settlmnt companies or budd hibbs, settle companies get you sued even faster

I didn't even think about googling this number and wish I had before returning the phone call....  wow! What a turmoil it's been around here.  I do owe Bank of America money, but haven't missed a payment in years, so didn't understand why this guy wanted to collect on this account.  He said I had defaulted and they were coming after me.  I explained I didn't have the full amount and he has badgered me continually about it.  Wanted me to sell something or take a mortgage out on my house!!!!!  I told him he was crazy.   He told me they would sue and garnish my husbands wages.  I ended up in a screaming match with him and told him to do what he had to do.  He then hung up on me.  What happens next I don't know, but he was a creep.  Wish I had known then what I know now or I wouldn't have even talked with him at all.  Will do my best to warn others and am going to report them to the Georgia State Bar and Better Business Bureau.  Not that it will help.  Obviously others have done the same.

Got a call from a guy looking for Richie (a relative).

Gave his name as Mike Stillman and claims he's with the Fred Hannah Law Office.
Wouldn't give me reason for calling only that Richie should call him.

This is probably some back alley collection agency.
