Repeats calling a couple times, do not know who, what, when or where they got number.  have no bills due.  just urgent file info that needs updating.  I did not & will not call back, if it's real, they can send info in mail.

I just got the recorded message today from "Lisa" asking me to call "John Taylor" back directly regarding a file that has been given to him.   I have been getting calls for the last two days from toll-free numbers and when I answer, they pretend to be from the power company or a magazine and ask me if this is a business number.  When I say no, they say they are very sorry to bother me.  Same number (different from this one) both times.  We were give an out of business company's old phone number, and I think they owe money, so I'm sure this is a collections agency. And I'm not calling back.

This message is the same over and over...Lisa calling for John Taylor, don't know who John Taylor is, but do know of a few Lisa's.  Although she doesn't ask for me by name.  Sounds SUSPICIOUS.

These people keep leaving me messages saying that I MUST call a John Taylor regarding a "file" that he has.  I don't know who John Taylor is, I don't know of any "file" and since they won't say who they are looking for or what they really want, I don't think I should have to talk to them.

Called today said I need to call back and speak with John Taylor on a "urgent matter". This is a Texas State agency. WHATever...........................

I got a call from "Lisa" regarding "John Taylor" as well. Once last Tuesday, and once again today. Both times I called back that number and they were looking for the previous owner of my phone # (which I've had for over 3 years). Both people I talked to were very rude, and I told them both to not call again. Hopefully it works.

They asked me if I was Angela Lassiter and then said they'd take my number off. Same story, John Taylor, call before 7pm etc. etc. What's this all about? Feels scammy...

got a call from this number numerous times I called back once, they asked what number the message was left on,then I was informed that they didnt have that number on file, and  a few days later I get the same call and message, Lisa  for John Taylor, important file came across his desk urgent for me to call. A whole bunch of B.S.

I've had two calls now from this scammer.  Maybe Nigerian?  The first threatened a lawsuit, the second was from a "secretary" claiming it was important to contact "John Taylor" before 7pm.
What a bunch of crap.  I have not responded.

After rereading all of your most helpful comments, I calmed down enough to re-listen to the piece of crap on my answering machine.
It was  "Lisa" who was the "secretary".

i got a missed called with a voice message left, to call back to speak with John Taylor before 7pm and the caller id number came out as 9999999999. Not once did they mention my name

I am so sick of getting calls from these people.  They must have at least 100 numbers they call from with the same old "this is Lisa, call John Taylor blahblahblah."  There is no such person.  It is Regent Asset management Solutions.  I have told them at least 50 times that they have the wrong number, there is no such person at this number or address (yes I have received letters from them too).  I even googled our name and the person they are looking for comes up as an alias to my husbands name.  How does this stuff happen?  We owe nothing to anyone, have never been in collections and have never used an alias. How do we get that changed?  Bye the way, the SOB who I spoke with hung up on me.  If I could I would go through the telephone line and slp the crap out of him to get them to leave us alone.  I am going to contact the attorney general in my state to see if anything can be done.

I've recieved 3 calls so far each with a different number, 866-852-2187 wants me to call John Taylor to give them more info regarding a file. 877-5910433 wants me to call Ron Kennedy for the same reason. I deleted the first message so I don't have that name or number. All said that they would be there until 7.

I got the first call from John Taylor ( said he was from Regent Asset Management) ( 866-852-2187) on Dec 1st . After I had 3 calls from this number on my caller ID I called the number back and got the number ( 866-809-6415 ) So I ask to speak to John Taylor - the guy who answered said John Taylor wasn't there but he could help me. So I proceeded to tell him that I knew he was a "scavenger collection agency" and was trying to collect a debt that I no longer legally owed. ( the debt in question was over 7 years old and had fallen off my credit report by the first call ) I told him if he called me again I would turn him into the State of MN Attorney Generals Office. Well I filed the report with the Attorney General anyway because they were a scam. I filed the report on Dec 6th 2009. The Attorney General's office sent letters first to the address that the guy gave me - and got no response. Then they found an address in Colorado for Regent Asset Management - they sent 6 letters to that address and all went unanswered. Then finally on March 16th 2010 someone responded to the complaint - only it was a D Scott Carruthers who claimed to be a lawyer. His address is 8448 Katella - PO Box 228 - Stanton CA 90680 Phone 714-761-3976 FAX 714-761-1754. This is what his letter said.

Dear Ms. Waltz ( the MN attorney General's Asst )
As the corporate attorney for Regent Asset management , I have been asked to respond to the complaint filed by XXX XXX . Please accept my apology for the tardy reply as I have been out of the office for over three weeks and am just getting around to all my correspondence.
Our records show that XXX XXX had an account with XXX in the amount of XXX that Regent is attempting to collect. I have instructed my client to cease and desist from any and all collection efforts directed to telephone number XXXXXXX.
Furthermore as an accommodation to all parties, there will be no more collection efforts from my client whatsoever. However, if XXX XXX wants to deal with me directly and reach an acceptable resolution of the debt, I will be glad to take his calls. I can be reached at 714-761-3976. Sincerely, D Scott Carruthers.

This is the first time the name D Scott Carruthers was mentioned and in order to get to the top of this scam the MN Attorney General had to send letters every 2 weeks for over 17 weeks. The only way to end this scam is to file a report with your states Attorney Generals Office ( Consumer Fraud division)

Keeps calling me, they never know my name, but they want me to call back to give THEM information about a file that has come across their desk.  I have NO outstanding bills and I monitor my credit, which is fine, by the way.

Just received a call on my ex husband's machine from this 1-866-852-2187 - the machine was so fast and barely understandable. It was from a Frank Mezza, they said that I had called their office. I have been remarried for 4 years and they used my former last name. They called his grandmother's house, which I have no idea why I would even be associated with that residence. I have nothing in collections and have no idea why I would be getting a call from these people!
