Said my account was trying to be accessed from outside of the country.

They called almost exactly an hour apart. Didn't answer. I am assuming it's a scam. Warning to everyone, do not answer calls from people you don't recognize. If it's important, they will leave a message.

Indian woman Claiming to be Microsoft to help me from other people trying to freeze or still my personal data fro my computer. Wanted to allow me to take control of my computer. Called 3x today.

Called me 4 times already and I can't figure out how to block the number on my droid. Robocall stating my microsoft account has been hacked and is getting shut down. Very annoying.

Called me at work today 5 times

Got a call about microsoft account being hacked. I have no microsoft accounts they were just trying to get info

Scam call. Was told my computer had a virus from a Microsoft Login. They started telling me how to open my event viewer on my computer to fix the issue. In other words to make me install a virus so they can then tell me it only costs $400 for them to fix it or throw my computer away or it is useless. I let them babble for a while, played along just to waste their time. Then I said what if I use a Mac? How could that be possible? Then he went into some stupid babble about that. I finally informed him that I was so happy I wasted 20 minutes of his time because I knew it was a scam. He actually said "F**k you b*tch" and hung up on me!! This scam has been going on since 2008. I have received the same call over and over for years. I have reported it to the FTC after this last call. It is worldwide they told me. So whatever you do, JUST HANG UP ON THEM!!!

The number is 866-853-5938 and the location will say "United States"--I picked telemarketer in the choices for type of call, I wish "SCAM" call was an option.

Called 4 times in 5 hours. Must have been very important, because no message was ever left. I did get a virus warning though.

Missed call from them. My advice is this: I don't answer these numbers I don't recognize, even numbers matching my area code. They're calling from other countries and using local numbers, leaving you with huge charges on your phone bill. Plus, I haven't even got a Microsoft account, or if I do, I forgot about it. You can have it to be honest.
My other word of advice: if you foolishly answer their call, don't go to any website they tell you to go to. That's how any accounts you have on the internet will truly be accessed by someone else. Just hang up. They will likely call again, now that you've answered, but don't pick it up.
If it's any important business you need to worry about, the caller from the unrecognized phone number will leave a voicemail with the details. That's the way I handle these phone calls every time.

They said it was Microsoft and needed to call back to unlock account

More Indians pretending to be Microsoft or Windows Technical support. They aren't even that good at their scam. One of them spent their time talking about Indian women.

Indian computer scam. An angry man named "Peter" is trying to get access to your computer. He also rants on about his hatred of America and Pakistan. Weird scammer.

first I got a fake email claiming someone was trying to log into my google account (fake-sender), then I received this call from this number and I looked up in google and see it is a spam phishing attempt.  - go find someone else to scam!

I received this call today from 1-866-853-5938.    The guys said shutting down my Microsoft Account.    I blocked the number.   I did ask him why he thought that Russia was hacking me, he said do you have access to your computer, to which I replied "I have 10 computers, which one".    He hung up and I am not stupid.

Same experience. He seemed frustrated that I wouldn't turn on my computer for him. I finally said I'd call him, he said 'ask for Peter'. I never called. He's called since, but I didn't answer. Sounds like a scam.

Caller said someone was trying to hack in to my Microsoft based computer from outside the country. They wanted a fee to clean my system. I informed the sales guy (scammer) that I only have Apple computers in my home. They hung up very quickly. They are now blocked.
