Got three texts today.  Figured it was someone slamming the cell phone, as it was completely unsolicited and without legitimate business identification.  I will be calling AT&T in the morning to get a credit and block these lowlife losers, i will report these jackholes to the BBB, and if they try it again I WILL sue them.  

First three texts came from #318-50.  First one came through at 12:30 pm Eastern Time; the other two were within minutes of the first one.

6759 - Enter this on website to continue Challenge Quiz Fun Facts 18668611606 $9.99/mo. Msg&Data Rates May Apply.  Reply HELP for help.  ((It should be noted that at this point, I did nothing, simply ignored the odd message.))

Text #2:
Challenge Quiz: You scored 107.  You are pretty smart!  For HELP call 18668611606 $9.99/mo.  Reply HELP for help Reply STOP to cancel Msg&Data Rates May Aply.  ((I scored 107?  Pretty good for someone who didn't even play... Also note the misspelling on the last word, that is how they typed it, not me.  Red flag, but before I could act I had to take a call from the hospital regarding my son's EEG next week...and of course it slipped my mind until just a few minutes ago.))

Text #3:
Guess What?  In 1998, Sony accidentally sold 700,000 camcorders that had the technology to see through people's clothes!  ((Amazing, simply amazing...I didn't even know that I WANTED to know this...so apparently their Spidey Senses are working quite nicely.))

I sent "STOP" shortly before coming here and the reply text came within a minute, from 1111487101.  It read:

This msg confirms that u have discontinued and will no longer receive messages or charges for this service.  18668611606 for help.

Got the same just a few minutes ago. Called ATT, there had been a 9.99 charge posted today. They offered to cancel the subscription and refund the amount "as a one time courtesy" and then applied the purchase protection to my account. Glad ATT took care of it but find it ridiculous that a charge like that could be applied so easily and without approval.

I reply STOP but still doesn't got any reply from other side whether they stop the service

Today I got 3 messages from MpbChanceIQ. I called ATT customer care and told them about this. They cancelled my subscription and refunded me the $9.99 charge. They also added protection services which won't automatically activate any such things without me requiring to enter a pin.

I got a text message indicating that I had subscribed to a service for $9.99 a month for some sort of "Brain Buster".. I sent "stop" to them and got a text that they had stopped the service. Called AT&T and found out that there had been a $9.99 charge applied to my wireless bill. AT&T refunded it and placed a STOP on Brain Buster... Go figure!! Amazing how diligent a person has to be.. Had I waited until the bill came from AT&T it would have taken longer to get the charge removed...

Call your cell phone provider.. I feel sure you were billed $9.99 for something you never requested. I texted "stop" to the number but AT&T says I was still billed.. They removed the charge..

Unsolicited texts being sent to my cell phone

Got the txt on my business phone.  1-866-861-1606 in the txt.  I don't think reponding or not responding has any effect.  I think the charges are placed even before you get the text messages.  I am in the process of putting a purchase lock on all 24 business lines.  What a pain!

Got the same message. How do I know if a $9.99 charge has been placed?

Then, a second one came in WELCOMING me to the service! It included the phone number 18668611606 to call for "help."  I never responded to THAT text message either, but while I was googling the phone number, a third text message came in, with a stupid "brain cool IQ fun fact."

When I called AT&T, they verified that the subscription was set up to be billed $9.99/mo starting the following day. Of course, they canceled, and I added in the service I mentioned in the first paragraph.

I then called the company. After going through the menus, I reached a live person who answered the phone: "Thank you for calling. Will you please disconnect the call and call back in one hour, as we're having technical difficulties?"

I told the representative that I would NOT like to call back and was insistent he remove my phone number from his database; however, he merely repeated his request that I call back as "all the computers are down" and he would be unable to do anything until his technical difficulties had passed.

I NEVER responded to any of those text messages, and the company would have been successful in billing me had I not stopped it.

My follow-up email from AT&T which confirmed my cancellation to this "service" states that the company that charged me is called "MistyMobileAlerts."

I received a text from this number and I plan to call my phone company tomorrow to ensure no charges.

I am with AT&T and today I received 3 texts from 742-48. The first read, "MOBSETTER IQ Fun Facts at $9.99/mo. Msg&Data Rates May Apply. Reply HELP for help. Enter UR password on the website 2 continue: 2469." The second text read, "MOBSETTER IQ: You scored 107. You are pretty smart! For HELP call 18668611606 $9.99/mo Reply HELP for help Reply STOP to cancel Msg&Data Rates May Aply" The third text read, "Guess What? In Ancient Peru, when a woman found an ugly potato, it was the custom for her to push into the face of the nearest man For Help call 18668611606" After all the grammar and spelling errors I became even more certain this was a scam. I have no clue what this company is, nor have I ever come close to signing up for something like it. So after reading a ton of stuff about it online and learning that I most likely will be charged for this crap regardless, I texted STOP back (who knows if I'm an idiot for doing that and if it would even stop future charges). It replied, "This msg confirms that u have discontinued and will no longer receive messages or charges for this service. Go to iq.mobsetter.com to rejoin the service." I plan on calling AT&T as soon as I see this on my bill. I'm going to report this, but I wish I knew of a way to block this sort of stuff from happening again. If you're in the same boat as me, I'm just as frustrated about this as you are!

how can i  get a refund of the 9.99

I phoned the number given and got an option to speak to a representative, which I did. I told her to take my name off of their list, she said she would after I gave her my cell phone number and the five-digit number reference in the text message.
Annoying.

So to summarize, they are trying to hide very well, the call center is in Canada, the websites are hosted in Great Britain, the company is registered in Valley Park Mo., and the owner lives in Boston MA. I have filed complaints with Both Mo. And MA. AG's office.

Found more information, the company name is Bune LLC and they are definitely in Valley Park, Mo.

Ok, the company is trying very hard to hide, the call center is in canada, the servers are in Great britin but I traced the company to VALLEY PARK, MO. But no address or phone number for there.But give me a little more time, hiding from a hacker is not easy!

I just got this as well.  brain cool IQ fun facts.  I have never and will never use a service like this.  I hope they burn in hell.
