The automated call said they were calling from GE/Paypal.  After asking me to verify my name, they asked for my zip code.  Since they called me, I think they should already know that info.  I hung up and called paypal (because my account is up to day and I owe them nothing).  Paypal said the call was not generated from them and if Paypal called me, they would not ask for personal information; they only do that if I call them to verify that I am who I say I am.  I'm not sure who this phone number belongs to, but I'd say it is a scam, and although they claimed to be from Paypal, they were not.

this is paypal.  Before you return the call though, check your account.  It is probably passed due.  But what I found interesting is they did leave a recording message with all there info, but when I go online to my account the listed information is different.  Maybe its a special office, but I didn't want to chance it.  The number online is 866-571-3012 and in FL not UT.  Either way, it appeared to but I called the online number not this number.  I wouldn't say its a scam, at least currently 2014.  

You do realize that if a collection agency is calling you it is probably because you owe money.  So if you paid your bills on time there would be no reason to call you.  And yes, I have a PayPal account and I forgot to pay my bill.

They have been upsetting my parents I like your response lets all go on the attack we have been the victims lets start calling them asking questions. EVERYBODY I'm gonna start today. If they don't respond say I will call at a later date Thank you. Hang up. Lets see how they like harassment!!!!

I am having the same issue. The one last night swore at me. I've tried blocking my phone. It's on the don't call for a long time. they mutter their name and company. If I get irate they hang up but call like clockwork.

Get a life buddy.. Sounds like you could be one of the low life collectors the way you are defending them.. I say screw with their heads until they stop calling.

I have been getting multiple calls per day from this number.  I checked my PayPal account, and I have a zero balance.  (which I expected, since I knew I hadn't used them in years)  After reading this site, it's clear this is a scammer...so, I emailed PayPal to alert them of it.  I recommend that you block the call if possible.  If you can't block them, then never give them your name or any other personal information...and feel free to harass them back.  :-)

Go to My Sprint and block voice or text at will. I've been doing it for years. Don't have Sprint? Then you'll have to go through Mark Rivers' BS that does nothing but waste your time. However, I believe every major cell carrier has a way for you to block numbers. Call your customer service # and find out. If your carrier can't accommodate you, get one that will. You shouldn't have to put up with this crap.

I always pay the bill on time.  Always.  Never late.  They call anyway.  What do you not get about this?  See how easy this is?  Is there something wrong with you?  Are you having trouble reading?

I paid my paypal smart connect thru paypal account off, they keep calling me even after i closed my account and got a letter stating it was closed and paid in full. WTH?

Scam.  Ignore and block the calls.

Supposively it's Paypal. I'm up to date on payments with paypal. Wouldn't know why they would be calling me.

Multiple calls each day. The caller ID says GE Capital which I ignored for weeks, because after working with credit card companies I refuse to have a GE Capital card or anything backed by them. Finally got irritated and answered to see what it was about and truth to tell I was ready to vent my spleen on someone after hearing the phone ring incessantly on an otherwise peaceful Sunday spent with company. Recording saying it was from paypal and I needed to call them at at 866-899-6160, immediately. I went to my account and had no messages and no problems showing. I do not use a pay pal charge account (nothing affiliated with GE Capital, remember), I pay cash through a dedicated bank account that only ever has the amount I have paid put into it. Even if someone got the info on the account my bank would stop them dead in the water, because there would be no money in the account and no overdraft privileges. There is absolutely no reason for GE Capital to call me EVER. No reason that Pay Pal would need to call me, unless they are wanting to sell me something else and I am not buying. With no reason that PayPal or GE Capital would need to call me and even less for me to call them I vote scam or phishing on this one.

This is NOT PayPal!  I don't have an account with them therefore, I cannot have one past due.  FYI, passed is a totally different word than past.  Also, they left THEIR information not there.  The educational system in this country is really failing!

(866) 899-6190  Called twice within 2 hours and a few weeks ago called and message was for paypal update.i am not answering and blocked further calls. No message is left.  I dont use paypal did a couple times about three or four years ago.

I received a message from 1-866-899-6190 regarding PayPal Connect, Their address is in Utah! I called the regular Pal Pal Account number and they said that number is no connection to them! My account is up to date. There are no problems. Glad I called the real PayPal number!!

I get 1-2 calls a day from this number. .I  do not owe paypal any money, so they should not be calling me for a debt. The calls are annoying
