- YS| 2 repliesBE CAREFUL. SCAM. These are robot calls, and they FAKE the caller ID so it appears to be from Capital One but it is not, thieves are trying to steal your info. Don't bother to try the DNC list, they are overseas using obscure methods. When they call Your phone's caller ID shows a valid 1-800 that belong to Capital One but the recording ask to call back a different number. Surprised? And don't you suspect the horrible quality of the recording? For sure Capital One or any other company hired by C.O. would have better quality. If you want to call back, dial *67 before the number you call back and have fun with the idiot on the other side. This hides your number. Just don't give any info. Click the reply and tell your experience.

- Tygerkat replies to YSThe DNC list only applies to telemarketers anyway so even if this were Capital One, it wouldn't apply to them if they're calling about a debt.
- BigA replies to YSI hate to burst your bubble, but *67 does not work on toll free numbers which is what 866 is.
- Maria McKA voice mail from "Linda" stating it was "very important business" from Capital One. I called and told them I did not have a card and they stated they would remove me from their lists.

- DolphinReceived a recorded call from "Linda" regarding a problem with my Capital One account. She said to call back on 866-953-7906. I called the main customer service phone instead, as my accounts with CapOne are not in a negative state as far as I knew. The real Capital One checked my account (no problems) and confirmed that 866-953-7906 is not one of their numbers.

- HandyLadyThis is bull****. I've been getting calls everyday from this 'Linda' for an 'important business matter' the past month and so has my partner. I finally caved and called the Actual Capital One and they have no record of ANYTHING wrong with my account and looked up this number 1-866-953-7906, they have absolutely NO record of this number that is in their system that they use. None. Whoever says this is an actual Capital One number is an IDIOT that can't figure out a scammer when they hear one. They sound like they are in an echoing room and when you do call there's some random guy or Indian guy answering and I've had problems with this crap before with other things I had nothing to do with. They are using an auto-dial system that gets someone's number by random and constantly calls the number until someone either blocks them or calls back.
Do NOT call this number whatsoever. The representative that I got with the Real Capital One even took the time to call that number and noticed that they use the same automated greeting they use for their phone lines. She looked into it more and found that they like to record these greetings and replay them as their "own" greeting to fool people even more. We concluded they were a scam after an hour of looking into it on her part and mine. Put them on a block list and do Not call them. Contact the actual Capital One offices and inquire with them if you have any worries about your account. You're being SCAMMED!- Caller: "Capital One"

Obviously YOU ARE ONE OF THE CULPRITS... THE CROOKED, LAZY, SCAMMER YOURSELF since you’re defending these calls from this FACTUALLY KNOWN SCAM NUMBER!!!
By your statement, you are obviously trying to deceive unsuspecting people and lure them into giving information to these scammers at this number!!! If you are not against this criminality than you are for it which in turn spotlights YOU AS DEFINITELY THE CRIMINAL... YOU LOWLIFE SCUM!!!
People Beware... The post by “stoplying” is a Scam in of itself!!! Do not believe a thing anyone says that contradicts the Fact that it is a Filthy Scam Posing As The Big Banking Company!!
Unfortunately our gov has done nothing about these callers to protect it’s own citizens which is very concerning as it is also disappointing that Silicon Valley techies have not came up with a fix for these problems... must not be profitable for them. It’s hard to digest that we don’t have any bright and intelligent techies up for the challenge... You’d think there’d be one that wanted to make a name for themselves by inventing an innovative solution to these countless scam calls which would reward the one who solved this greatly and probably pave the way for their entire family and generations to come, while also gaining great respect and praise from the rest of us by delivering us from this daily pestering of scam calls. Yes, this is a hint and prodding for some USA techie or group of techies to solve. They rolled out the Internet without any safeguards in place prior to doing so, like without even a plan. Putting the cart before the horse, putting greed before safeguards. Now they should have a duty to fix the giant phone/Internet breeches!! Who will it be, who wants to be the Einsteins of Today? Any takers?
If so, then please get on it and deliver us from this wretched mess of bothersome scams. The individuals who can do this will probably gain more wealth than ever imagined along with prestige but it’d be wonderful to have helped millions of people in the process I’d hope. Consider the helpless that most people know or are related to that can fall victim to these scams... most people have a relative or friend who is elderly, really young and naive or one that isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. Think about them, your family, friends and fellow countrymen... Let our brightest among us help solve this evil, selfish mess that scammers have created... Be the world’s famous knight in shining armor! C’mon, give it a go!! - BobbyTHIS IS A WELL KNOWN SCAM!!

- MJDCalled our business and it went to voice mail. It was indeed "Linda" calling about an important business matter and I should call back 866-953-7906. Funny that the number on CID said TOLL FREE and it was 800-953-7906. Linda has been calling since 2011 too. She must be a good little scammer! Our business does not have a Capital One account either.

- Tammy C.I received a voicemail from a caller who identified themselves as Linda with Capital One. I called back and discovered that their automated answering system that asks for the last 4-digits of the card number is the exact same voice that answers the automated system for the legitimate Capital one. These crooks are good! I hung up and didn't enter the last 4 digits of my card number and called Capital One's tel number listed on my statement and reported it. The customer service rep with whom I spoke asked me to report it to their fraud department: abuse@capitalone.com
- Caller: Capital One

- Jennifer replies to DeniseThank you for the info! These folks have been harassing me incessantly. I have an introductory Capital One account, opened for the purpose of rebuilding my credit. I am not about to let these scammers wreck it further. I am in the habit of contacting my creditors directly with the numbers provided on my statements anyway. But your experience was helpful and the information good to know.
- SteveThis robocaller Linda leaves a message identical to what everyone in the long past here has stated.
I do have a closed account with capital one but this daily call is obviously harassment by a fake company working out of Marion OH to scam you. There is a website harassmentbycapitalone that can verify this ongoing problem,so DON"T call them at the number given!- Caller: Linda from capital one

This is a scam they've been calling my home phone for weeks and leaving no message and today they called my cell phone. The caller ID said debt collector. They are disgusting what I don't understand is why the NSA CIA whatever, we have 17 intelligence agencies and they can't track these scum buckets down? I have never wished death on anyone before but in the case of these lying scumbags I can make an exception.
