I received the call from (866)953-7906 as well.  I contacted Capital One directly using their contact information on-line as well as on the back of my card.  They verified that this is indeed one of their contact numbers (albeit initiated via a robo-call).  This is an issue of their company having too many toll free numbers and automated systems.  She even went so far as to determine which department owned or generated the contact - stating it was disputes [which I imagine goes hand in hand with collections].  I was not concerned, as both she and the 7906# were able to confirm my account had no issues and had the same information available to them.  I will monitor my card for any odd activity and follow up if it does appear to be a scam.  In reality, it appears mostly to be an annoyance, but not malevolent.  I did not give either personal information (i.e. SSN) and forced them to look my information up by card number (also did not give exp.date nor CCD).

Clarification.  The call originated from 800-955-6600 ; the call back number was 866-953-7906

I've gotten calls like this too. I suspect it's collections.

Beware of this kind of caller. Calls on a weekend with robo call message. Do not fall victim to this kind of scam. Never give out your s.S. Number !!!

I received a call saying, "This is Linda, from Capital One Services".  She said it was it was an urgent matter in regards to my account and left phone 866-953-7906, but caller ID shows she called from 800-955-6600. I am not behind in my account and my online statement looks good..  It sounds like a fraud call, the same message is left almost every day, including on a Federal Holiday at 8am.  I will not be calling them back.

Left messages to call to discuss further but nothing else on the message. Does not appear to be correct

I do NOT have one of their cards, so speak for yourself.  "Linda" is up to some shadiness.  In fact maybe YOU are Linda or some other operative.  Hmmm

My caller is says call is coming from 800-995-6600, the  12 second message left is “call 866-953-7906 today to discuss your account”.  The message sounds scratchy like an old recording. They have left it numerous times it always sounds the same. The woman sounds older with a subtle southern accent.

This is 100% a SCAM!  When you call they will first ask for your full social security number, tell them no and then they ask for your full credit card number!  People be aware this is NOT the practice of Capital One, It is a SCAM and they want your number to steal your identity!  Please do not fall for these looser's!

giving your social over the phone is a no no. Keep your on your credit inquiries and may even ask the credit bureaus lock your account from any new credit application.

This is the capital 1 collections department. They are calling you because someone that you know or has a similar name is delinquent on their account. They may or may not have put you down as a reference. More than likely capital 1 is trolling to get info on the deliquent account.

My dad and I have the same name and have unrelated cap 1 cards. Our accounts are not related or linked or share info in any way. He was deliquent and wouldnt talk to them so they called me to try and get in touch with him. They know this is illegal. If you tell them  that you are recording the call they will hang up on you or tell you not to record. They need to be reported for this.

they are illegally making calls to you and you want someone else to report them? Try not to be so lazy.

If you already know who called you, why would you look up the number? Besides, scammers frequently spoof legitimate phone numbers so what might be valid for you isn't necessarily for someone else.

Same exact message left to my voicemail 4 times over 2 days. Like others on the weekend. Didn't nor won't be returning the call.

If you already know to whom this number belongs, why did you look it up?
