I have been recieving threatning calls from the Law Office of Andrea R. Shearer from Janurary 2011 to this current date. April 2011, concerning a dept. Each letter to collect has a different amount.
I don't know who the deptor is. I am being harressed from early morning until late evening on my personal phone line. This office has now started to harress me at my employment, not only with threatning phone calls, also by sending letters to my place of employment threating to garnish my wages. This office concluded in their letter that my wages would not be garnished if I send their office $5,000. My employer or I have not been able to find out who this office is representing to collect a dept
from me(Minor Smith). I would like to know is this office licensed to collect depts. This office does not have the professionalisim that a legal office of law would pratice.

My son has been recieving calls from these bottom feeders for sometime now, and I asked him to let me hear the message they left. after hearing the messages and seeing how often they call, i took upon myself to look into it. I'm in the profession of finding things people dont want to find, so to help all of you posting here is some info on these scum.
they first called and identified themselves as the "law office of Andresa Shearer" stating they had a legal matter to discuss. then a few days later, they called again but this time identified themselves as the "law office of Michael K. Sipes". wierd, same number and all. but okay. claiming again legal matter but this time, said needed a call by 5pm.  so if you get a call from these people here is your best course of action.

send or fax them a "Cease & Desist" letter advising them to stop all communication via telephone.  Request all communication be sent through letter only.  This is the first step.

Second, request the company to send a "Verification of Debt".  This will ensure that are properly following FDPCA code.  They'll have 30 days to respond.  Again, send this letter to them via Certified Mail request sign signature.  If no response, send a follow up letter.  If they contact you again, sue them for FDPCA violation.

Thank you for the info. I recieved a call at  my work from a Jose Arevalo at Law office of Michael K. Sipes 877-222-0064 ext.4071. I told him not to call my work anymore. When I talked to him the next morning and asked for a verifaction of judgement I was told that he felt that I was wanting more time. I told him I need to go through my records and need time. I asked for a few days and was told no. That they will be taking the next step. I told him to do what he needs to do. He then transfered me to a different person named Wilkes. Wilkes told me he would be willing to cut my debt in half. When I told him that I need time. He would not give me time either. His attitude changed and then told me that my balance will double if I did not settle now. As I was talking he was rude and hung up on me. Then I got another call from a different number 916-478-6771 wanting to talk. Now they want to talk. I then started trying to find out information. They are not registered with Better Business Bureau. So thank you for posting.

The 'law office of Michael k sipes' has now started calling my neighbors to give me messages! They are calling my mother and sister and brother also! This is ridiculous!

Mr Candelaria, Pablo Candelaria, Mr Flemming have all called my home in the last 2 days demanding I call them within 24hrs at 877-222-0064 ext 4068 and 4054. Each says they are with the Michael K Dupes LawOffice. Since when do law offices do collections anyways?

I gave them permission to take 408.98 out of my account with the promise of a letter stating terms of repayment all I got was a letter dated two weeks after money was taken, saying I didn’t live up to the agreement even though they took the money.

To all you people crying about getting these phone calls, all you have to do is pay your debts. You KNOW you took out the loans, credit cards or whatever and ran em up. Did you think no one would want their money back? Well its time to pay the piper folks. We are the ones that collect of the defaulted loans you guys took out. I don't even understand why there is so much of this crap saying its a scam, you KNOW you owe the money. And yes the amount owed does go up , it's called interest, but if we do go to court, then you just added alot more(lawyer fees, court costs, etc.) Just because something got charged off , don't mean it has gone away. So stop crying and be an adult, take care of your [***], because when it all boils down, we will get the money, and if your in CA, your better off just paying it, because we will get it with or without your cooperation thru the courts. Unfortunately these scammers random-call people who don't owe these debts, in hopes of landiing a sucker.  Pay your bills to the original creditor, not to third party bottom-feeders!

I am one of them, there is no scam to it, calling numbers to locate is called skip-tracing. We don't hope to land a sucker as you put it. We are an actual law firm that collects on behalf of our clients.I mean come on man, how else do you think we have all the info. We dont make this [***] up. It is all sent in a file from the creditor. I mean really, how would we know you had a sears gold mastercard that is in default / charge off status? That isn't public info. Just pay the debts that you owe and you won't hear from us again. And if you did pay it off and it is a mistake, tell us that and fax / mail us proof of it. Simple as that.

One of these jerks kept calling me and because I live close to them in CA he said he was going to come to my house.  I told him no and he started fighting with me over the phone. The next morning my front window of my car was broken, my car was keyed with "pay", and I had 4 flat tires.  A week later my shed was broken into and all my tools were stolen. I'm afraid for my family.

No apparent fax number for Sipes' law offices.

Alan Laskin, Andrea Shearer, Michael K. Sipes ... same pirate ship office flying different attorneys' tattered jacks. This happens around the country ... enterprising collectors convince naive young (or fading old) attorneys to lend their letterheads ... and when regulators get wind of it the attorneys are the ones who get sanctioned.

It's called "lack of meaningful involvement" in the cases.

Just because someone is an attorney doesn't mean they won't fall for the Nigerian 4-1-9 scam ... or get involved with a bunch like this.

harrasment calls when party doesnt live at residence ,,advised not to call again.

First off you all need to know this and understand one thing !! If you dont want to be sued pay your bills,  These attorneys are retained to either Collect the Account ,Close the Account, or Sue The Account. Yes we aquire information from neighbors- yes we prob 3rd parties- chances are if you ar e getting probed you know the subject.
Back to the debtors that are mad . Dont be afraid to call the firms back  they want to work with you !! Dont be stupid and say oh here is 50 dollars on my 20k , thats totally ridiculous , When you give us information please give the real information. If we have to find it uses resources ect it may prevent you from getting as much help as you could have gotten by being honest,

There are several employees here when you call the number and you dont want to talk to the collector press 0 ask for a supervisor. I assure you the collectors are top notch pros. They have nothing to hide. You Do . So step up get and be accountable. You are an AMER I CAN not an AMER I CANT

I received a call from 916-509-8789 from someone claiming to be from Michael Sipes office asking for a Hanna Hands (sounded like a made up name); I do not have any debt in collections so I don't know if this was a misdial, scam, info seeking mission, wrong number, etc. They called at 7:16pm.
Hopefully they won't call again, but if they do, I'll find out more; most likely they're dialing someone's old number who owes debt. SUGGESTION: Never give any info out when a call comes in from a collector. If it's legit, say you'll call them back at a number YOU know is the collection agency's number, not a number they give you verbally to call back. Also, try to call a number with an regular area code like 916, 415, etc., not a tollfree number because when you call a tollfree number, they capture your information and then you're on their lists forever. If you must use a tollfree number to call a company, use a payphone.

I recieved a call from Micheal Sipes regarding our credit card bill.  Alex Davido was  pretty agressive by demanding I pay the balance in full that day.  I told Alex that my husband and I got into trouble because he lost is job. He said he undertood  but the balance is due in full. He continued to say he was collecting a debt and information he obtained would be used for that purpose. This guy made me tell him all sorts of information . He then said he may have   identified the problem why the account was in there office  - hell I didnt even know we had a  problem,he puts me on hold  for like a minute . Anyways he said that we had a successfull credit history and this is definitly holding us back . He wanted over $ 6000 which I did not have , He said "Lets Crunch Some Numbers"
He tried 25 percent down then  7 payments (that was way to high) he tried all sorts of ways , the guy put me on hold forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He comes back on the phone with a really good deal for me, so he says. Turns out it  was a great deal! I was very happy that he was able to get a settlement co ordinator to allow me to make this deal. Alex saved me over $3000.00

I was not called actually.. Someone just came up to my door and handed me a piece of paper with a number on it, which happens to be 817-222-0064 ext 3031. He told me the guy up the street wanted my family to have this and it has our address on it, my moms name, and it reads "please call immediately".. So naturally I feel that this is weird, so I lock my doors (just in case) and decided to research the number.. and this is what comes up for it... I don't know what its for, and im trying to figure it out but its definitely weird.
