- Looking for the easy way out| 3 repliesI to am a debto collector for the law office of Michael Sipes. We do things by the book period! We call your house ,we call neighbors (if statw law permits) and we call place of employment (if permitted by state law). We follow the "Act", Those who complain and say we are illegal and what ever else they may say, have a balance in our office that is unpaid . Its funny I have been doing this job for well over 10 years, and its the same song and dance. I collect on primary credit card debt. Nobody starts there credit life at that level. You have to build credit to get one of theses cards or credit accounts. Consumers are well aware of the terms and conditions ie charges ,late fees. FYI they know the calls are gonna come from an attorney eventually. When we get a debtor on the phone we give demand and ask for the balance to be paid immediatly (as per the terms of the contract) they are shocked that we want them to pay because they think they can malinger with a 50 dollar payment.

- Fed upKeep getting calls from Ms. Gamboa from Michael Sypes Law Office Ph # 877 222-0064. I was the victim of theft/identity theft. When I explained this to Ms Gamboa and advised her I was not going to pay anything, she stated she will call me about it tomorrow, the day after and the day after that in a real smart ass tone. I am obviously being harassed.

- Cleatus replies to Blah blah blahDear Blah, I am being constantly harasses by you people for a debt I DO NOT have. I explained the circumstances to one of your bottom feeder boiler room operators and was told I would continue getting harassed until I paid (not in those words).
- John Q Public replies to Cry More Please, It Amuses Me| 1 replyMr. or Mrs. Bill Collector, I understand you have a job to do, but you could do your job with a lot more professionalism. Grant people sometimes owe these debts, but life happens, things change making repayment hard or impossible. You buy these loans for pennies on the dollar, and you profit greatly if you collect any part of the original debt. You break the rules, stretch the truth to serve you bottom end and you expect people to take this behavior an like it. To me if you were reasonable & fair minded instead of being greedy. You guys must truly love the banks & credit card companies, they are the reason for all this mess anyway. I truly wish that you get to experience a bill collector hassling you & your family. Have a nice career.
- Walk in the Park| 1 replyi to have had dealings with this Law Office of Mocheal K Sipes. I work in the hotel and hospitality field here in Orlando Florida. My wife and I owed some money for a Credit Card. Alex Davido called my phone and demanded that this get taken care of today. He said that I had to pay this whole thing at once, I was pissed at the wife for getting us in this situation ,but Alex treated me with respect and furthermore got me a little money off. I must say that Alex and his manager Jason are very professional and they have a good sense of humor. I felt good about paying these 2 guys. They were at least gentlemen about the situation, some bill collectors are dorks but these two were great!

- NOT INTIMIDATED replies to FightI agree 100% with the advice given by "Fight." It works; the law is fair. Most people don't realize the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act was set up specifically to protect the people of our country from the debt collectors who are trying to intimidate you. If they are calling and harassing you do NOT give them any information; just hang up. Do your research. There is a statute of limitation on uncollected debt (generally 4 years); and many of these "bottom dwellers" have no history of your debt. When they say they will take you to court, say "okay." Fight for your rights.
I fought 6 years ago when credit card interests jumped from 11% to 26%; I felt like it was extortion. In good conscience (because I knew I had paid at atleast the principle debt) I took 3 credit card companies to court. I won because they never showed up to court; and I heard they rarely do. So, my attorney cost a couple thousand dollars, but I feel vindicated.
Do scum debt collectors still call? Yes, occasionally. But I don't care; I have the court records to prove due process should they ever threaten me again. I just hang up and laugh at their troglodyte threats.
BTW - notice that on this forum, the only post with vulgar language and uneducated tone are the ones posted by the debt collectors. If they DO have real attorneys representing them, they are obviously not the best and the brightest of our legal profession. So, remember, according to our judicial system YOU are innocent, and the burden of proof is on them... I doubt they have it.
Let's fight back America. Our banks have Pied Piper'ed us into debt, sold our debts several times to various other lenders, and changed the rules at will by sending us a confounded boiler plate in 7 pitch font on the back of a statement that means nothing. I don't feel sorry for them when people finally give up. They are an organization that cares nothing for actual human beings; you are a number; a revenue source, that is all. So, to "Stop Crying" or whoever that guy was... why don't you stop bullying people and get a respectable job? Or can't you? What's wrong... no education, felony record or God forbid BAD CREDIT!!! Who cares, it's all just numbers... a debt, your ss#, your credit score. In a few years it will be old news; just get a respectable lawyer to represent you and please by all means read this:
