Call back gets "Welcome to Triple A.  Please enter the four or seven digit extension of the agent you wish to reach."  One website (youmail) lists it as a verified number for AAA.  Another site has a list of posters who also say it is triple A but it's best to be safe.  Call the number on your card or the number published on the website to be sure.  Even though the number comes back to triple A, a scammer could spoof the number.  Better safe than sorry.

Received a voicemail from "Joe calling from AAA" to set up auto pay because "the debit card on file declined your payment". The thing is that I never use a debit card (always credit) to make payments. Suspicious!

I was very spectical but this number is legit they took my payment and hooked me up. I called Aaa and verified its part of their retention dept.

I called the main aaa 877 number and asked an agent to transfer me to the 4digit extension. They said the extension provided was not valid as they have 6 digit extension. So I asked if the phone number provided in the mail (which caller id did show was AAA) they said yes and looked up the name and extension to tha department I provided and he gave me the 6digit extension linked me to the right person.

They took down my new cc info and got a 20% discount.
