I just got a call from 877-233-8527 and the guys name was tim and he left me  the number 434-533-9028 to have my son call him back. This just started yesterday when my son was over seas fighting a war. He asked me to give him a message. What the heck, who are these people anyway?

They are 100% Rude and do not care even if you have paid it or not.  You can tell them all you want to stop calling and they just yell back.  One night they called at 5 till 10PM, woke our kids up so my husband told the guy that and he replied "good"  Who does that?  Isnt it illegal to call after 8pm for telemarketing?  Trust me I have blocked this number!!!

The companies are still calling to try and collect from any estate there may have been. If your name was listed as a contact, they are able to try.

To get them to stop calling, you may have to provide proof of death.

    So sorry for your loss.

This company calls me about three times a day saying that I owe $275 to Sprint. They are very rude and when I tell them to remove me they say this is the only number they have for the account and simply continue to call.

Has anyone found a way to stop them from calling?

I just think she left off cell in that conversation.  Happens to the best of us.  Typing and thinking too far ahead and no proofreading.  But that is too funny

All  States will have debt collection laws. Check especially the laws regarding the time limitation for debt collection on a given debt. In my state a 2004 debt with no " action" on it will by law have expired and no longer be a valid debt to effect your credit or collect one penny on. Many scam collection agencies are hoping you don't know this and feel they have nothing to lose and only gravy to gain. I very much agree also don't pay these people , or any others. over the phone.

It is a collection company called RPM. They are calling me for a collection on a sprint account. A call to sprint, at&t, etc will do you nothing unless you talk to their finance dept. I called sprint and told them that I will pay off my past bill to them, not a collection company. I was told that it was too late and it was sold to them so I had to deal w/ RPM.

From what I've found out they are a collection agency. i got them to tell me that when a company can not receive the money they are owed (or feel they are owed) they send your info to rpm and they then try to collect the debt.

We have received calls for more than 4 months from RPM saying we owed money on a 3 yr old Sprint bill that was billed on our AT&T account.  When we verbally contacted AT&T and Sprint customer service they both said they had no record of any over due bills.  Today I got 2 calls from them and tried the internet search for the 877 233 8527 number we had previously been given, and found a reference to Sprint.  I contacted themby their online chat line, and initilly got a run around when I asked the question, "Who is RPM?" Instead of getting an answer I got, "I am sorry for the inconvenience caused you." Next question was, Do you know who this company is or why they are asking for credit card or bank account information? Answer: "Are you receiving the calls at your Sprint phone number?" My answer, "No on my AT&T line." Sprint answer, "Well, we can only provide you the details for the Sprint."  Eventually, the Spint online person did say that RPM is a third party company used by Sprint.
Sounds like Sprint is releasing unauthorized personal information to a third party.   I think I'll investigate another cell service.
