I signed up fir work at home now im in same boat as u , to many people say dont deposit, my friend did something similarshe deposit it her account gave her money then we they tried to clear it at that bank it was no good

I received one of these checks- an expected payment for services that did give name of the person sending it.  She owed me $400, therefore, I plan to deposit it.
It just alarmed me to receive a check from this "Federal Reserve Board of Governors", North Carolina. Strange check.

I receive checks from this processing center & never have any problems cashing them. I know they come from one of my clients that uses their BofA online payment service. This is legit. I have also received similar checks from other clients that  pay their bills (and any other services)  with their online banking service.

i tried calling the number. it turns out it's frontier phone number. i ask them a out the check and they don't know anything about it. and they told me it might be a scam.

Im pretty sure if it was a scam, they would no longer be sending these same checks out, with the same hashtag, as I received one 4 days ago 5/23/17. Considering you had posted your comment in Feb of 2014. Anyways, If it was in fact a scam, then the same hashtag would no longer still be used over and over to this day. It's kind of like how a confidential informant can get burned by somebody finding out they were a CI, they could never be used again because the criminal under investigation would know that the person is a CI. So if people and law enforcement find out that these checks, with the same hashtags aren't legit, then they could no longer send these checks with the hashtag, type of check, or other markers as they would be "burnt" in the same way a CI could be "burnt."

I received a check in the mail & it looks like I got the same one. I just send it to the FBI & let them investigate.

What did USPS tell you about the sender?  I just got a check from the same people.

I agree with you but I will take the check to Wachovia to be sure. The banks do not give away money period!!!!

So I sent a payment to one of my payees from my GoBank account like I always do for my payees. Well my payee sent me a letter stating that my account was paid in full and along with the letter sent me the check they received from me. I have been trying to to get my bank to void the check and put the money back in my account I have been trying since the end of November I keep getting told that they open a case and will be 5 days then I wait about seven or eight then I contact them back and I've been told this three times now and they keep telling me that they closed the account because they can't find the transaction however I have the transaction on my transaction list and on my bank statements and then I have been trying to call the processing center number for the last two days yesterday I sat on hold for over 2 hours waiting to speak to someone about this so I decided to look up the phone number to see what it was and mine is a payment processing center in Chicago Illinois a PO box and it's drawn off of Wells Fargo bank I guess I just want my money back for a payment that I sent to a payee that they returned to me. I know this might not be the same situation as everyone else on this page but I don't understand why it's so difficult to get go Bank to just void the check I sent them a copy of the letter the copy of the check via email and via picture on a chat if anybody has any suggestions I would be gladly accepting them

Sounds like they never cashed/deposited the check if they confirmed you are paid up to date and returned an uncashed check. Did you try to put a "Stop Payment" on it?

Well, if you have verification from your "payee" from the letter and the returned check,  there shouldn't be any deductions from your account. If you can verify the transaction took place and wasn't from the check that was returned, you might want to seek an Attorney.

There is a lot of details you left out so it is unclear if the returned check is the actual check you sent and does not have the transaction stamped on it from GoBank processing it. If you have a Transaction Statement of it being deducted from your account, then it should be traceable to wherever it was cashed/deposited.
If you sent the check by mail and they returned it uncashed, then ONLY you and the Payee would have any knowledge of the checks existence, so it couldn't possibly be on the Banks transaction Statement. The only way it could is if the Payee cashed it (perhaps via e-check or EFT) then the check number would appear on the Transaction Statement.

I just received one today and I am not falling for this [***]. Who ever is sending these scam checks think us Americans are stupid. Lol

What will I do with the check will I return it to sender
