Received several calls at my home from this caller. My husband picked up the first time they called, and there was a recording asking him to call them back. A reference number was supplied. We did not answer the calls that came later and no message was left. I picked up yesterday when they called again, but no one was there. I hung up.

This has been going on for about a month. They call every day without fail. Whether we answer or the machine picks up, there is a recorded message that says "this is not a sales call. Please call back at (same number) and they leave a reference number.  We see this number on the caller ID and we click the phone on then off very quickly so they cannot leave a message. I called the phone company to complain and the operator called the number for me to find out who was calling us and spoke to a man.  He would not tell her his name or the company name.  He said"if you have this number, then you know what company this is" when she came back on the line with me, she advised me not to call it myself, because the man was "very nasty" I am on the do not call list, but that doesn't seem to matter to these people.  Tomorrow I will call until I get through (it's usually busy} and find out who they are and what they want, then I will post it here.

I have been called repeatedly in the last couple of weeks and get messages (I am not at home or screen the call) from someone with a very heavy foreign accent telling me I have "important business" to call them back about.  When I called back this morning, within their stated business hours, I was greeted by a recording and given the option of acquiring an address or entering my phone number if I believed them to be calling me "in error".  The oddity is that I don't owe anyone money, nor do I have any outstanding debt, so there's no reason for my being harassed by collectors.

A different person calls each time.  Usually once per day.  Sometimes as early as 8am and as late at 9pm.  They simply say this is not a sales call, leave their number of 877-337-3099 to call back with a reference #6960639.  I have no idea why they are calling my house.  We do not owe anyone any money.  All of our debts are paid on time.  This is really getting very annoying.  How can I stop it?

Like others I got a call ( on a Sunday night! ) from 877-337-3099 with a reference number.  I had received calls from them before, and they were looking for someone with the same last name as myself ( the 2nd most common last name in the US ), but a different first name.  At that time I informed them of their error.

Months later I get a letter at the house addressed to this same person.  I send it back.

So I give them a call, curious to see how they'll respond this time. Once I gave the reference number the woman who answered asked for that very same person I'd told them didn't live there and had never lived at this address.  I said, " I told you guys before...."  well at the words, "you guys", she flipped and said "  I'm a ma'am, not a guy! and stoppped listening at that point.

I told her again how they we're the problem and that we'd all better off if they fixed it.  She responded by telling me that i wasn't listening and that I needed to call back later. Then she hung up.

It almost makes me want to call back and annoy that person more, after the cryptic phone messages, the calls, and the bad attitude.

If their goal is to annoy everyone, they're succeding

I have also been getting frequent calls like the ones described here.

So today I decide to call them back.  I told them I was returning a call from a message that was left on my phone.  He asked for the reference number and I spouted off random numbers non-stop for 30 seconds.

I have decided that I will call them frequently like this, since they call me frequently.  Since they annoy me and, from what I can see, many others, the only way I can get back is to annoy them.   Why don't you help me with this worthy cause?

Every evening for the past 2 months, we get the same recording (women's voice) "this is not a sales call" and that we should call 1-877-337-3099 with a reference number (today it was 7225577). We are also on the do-not-call-list.

We haven't called back, because I was afraid it would cost us money. Not sure what to do about this...

I too have be receiving daily calls from this number.  I am also on the do not call list.  It is very annoying.  Never a live person -- always the same female voice recording.  I actually pressed 1 and was immediately disconnected.

Got my first call from this organization today, immediately Googled them up and was glad to find a live message board dealing with them. I suspect they might be trying to reach the person who previously had this number, since months later I still get calls for them that sound very much like they're being made from a boiler room and in a tone of voice that sounds like they're owed money. I've been in a position where I've been behind before, so know the routine. Someone trying to collect a debt has to announce that fact when they are talking with you. Even when you initiate the call, or are returning their message, or just calling to discuss a settlement. And the biggest mystery, of course ... they called me at 6 p.m. my time, accordig to the answering machine, yet that is after their office hours?

Several calls.  Sometimes the recording starts before my answering machine can start.

Yup, this number has been calling me almost daily on my cell phone. I haven't even taken out any loans yet--ever--so I'm definitely not in debt.

Maybe 1 or 2 calls a week now. Voice just changed from male to female. Usually calls when I'm not home, so the machine picks it up. I'm sure if I were deep in debt, I'd be getting live callers and/or letters.

I too have received calls from this number. They're now also using two additional numbers as well since more and more people know the 3099 number. They're now using 877-339-3275  and I believe this is their office number 480-543-1164. It's interesting that the latter number shows a Caller Name as "Call 18773395275". I've received calls from all three of these numbers.  I think I've started getting calls from the latter two numbers because I have an answering machine that can selectively respond to any incoming phone number and I've "blocked" the 3099 number. My answering machine will pick up the call, say what I want to them and then hang up without me having to do anything. They're obviously responding with different tactics as people fight back.

I've gotten calls from these people, as well.  My fiance and I just got a number connected and we get about 5 calls a week from debt collectors, all of which are aimed towards the person who previously had this number.  I've gotten calls from three different numbers all with the same message:  8773395275 (when I called this number I got a private residence!!), 877-339-3099 and 877-339-3275.  I went through the steps to take us off of these lists.  Perhaps it would be less hassle if I called our phone provider and asked for a new number...any suggestions?  (We are also on the no-call list.  I did this about a week after we got this number)

Last month I started getting calls s-3 calles per week on my three year old cell phone, which I do not use for anything other than friends. I get no message or the "this is not a business matter" recording plus a reference number. This is the third unknown phone # that Google has led me to this collection scam. Very annoying. No intention of answering. I am hoping that they give up.

I have recently moved and have a new phone number.  Since having the new number in 2 days, I have received 3-4 calls from 877-337-3309.  The recording says it is not a telemarketing call, but in reference to a very important business matter.  When I try to call back, I received a fax tone.
The calls range in time from 8:30am to 5pm. This is frustrating.
