alarm bells going off, that was to verify and confirm
your number so they could call more. not less.
These people are full of lies and tricks.

We should not have to "identify" ourselves to
scumbags like this. Its really None of their Business
who you are. after enough reports to the proper authorities
and enough F* offs, they will stop calling without the info.
They are strangers and scammers.They don't deserve anyones info
ID, especially with identity thieves and such.

Yes, that happens to me too. Or my grandfather will tell them to wait while he gets me to the phone, and they hang up before I get there. They can't seem to wait two minutes, but they can wait forever while the phone rings and no one on our end picks up.

This is a debt collection company hired out by MCI.

Aw, just record a message on your answering machine stating...

"In light of numerous unidentifiable "ghostly" calls, calls from 877-337-3099 are not accepted. In order to avoid annoying calls, and thus, not be annoyed by them, legitimate callers are requested to leave specific identifying information in order to receive return calls. Phone numbers with only a reference number(s) are NOT considered specific identifying information and, therefore, are ignored."

I have received daily calls as well. Today, I contacted the number and they were looking for someone I've never heard of. I don't owe anyone anything, period. The man was very polite and said he'd remove my number. We'll see. They identified themselves as Bay Area Credit.

The name of this company is Bay Area Credit.

Calls day and night....somtimes messages are left; at other times, just hang ups.  I know of no reason for them to call us; we are current with debts.

Call everyday!  Make them stop!!!!

This is a collection agency.  And what's funny, is we got the same message for another person who has the same name as my husband but not the same address, social, etc..but they just look up the first person in the telephone directory who matches that name and keeps on calling them until you finally get fed up and call them to scream at them.  They don't take the time to verify their information and evidentially MCI uses them because this was about a MCI collection..maybe people should contact MCI about using such a lousy collections company that they harass innocent people.  Makes me never want to use MCI ever.

This collection company doesn't do the work before they start calling you.  They get a collections from a company and them start looking up everyone in the phone book that matches that name and keeps calling them until they get that particular person finally threats to sue unless they quit calling and harassing them.  MCI uses them.

Let MCI know that you won't use them ever...and why.  They use this collection company.  If you hit back at the companies who use these morons, then maybe these kind of companies will go out of business

Have received several calls stating that they have something important to tell me and to call back at the 877 number.They also include a rference number. They didn't say who they wanted to talk to or who the caller was.

Calls daily for someone with a name similar to ours but not ours. It's a collection agency and they just won't quit.  I have told them numerous times no one by that name lives there.  They are looking for someone who owes 500 something dollars to South Western Bell which no long goes by that name, so no telling how old the complaint is.

Hello all, I also get this number on my caller ID. I just press 77 when I get home and I never hear anything dont know who they are or what they want but I dont know any toll free, 800, unknown or unavalible people and never will.

My elderly in-laws, with whom we look after, are now receiving two of these calls PER DAY.  They have never had any debt other than their house, let alone uncollected. The details of these calls are the same as above (877-337-3099) with the automated system and code.  I will not return calls for a company that will not leave its name.  Hopefully, this kind of abuse can be stopped.
