- Pitufo| 5 repliesGot an official lawyer letter for a debt we did truly owe T-Mobile. Had a verbal agreement with them to pay it over 5 months or so. They turned around and sold the debt; even took a payment without posting it to our account. Broke our agreement. I had every intention of keeping my end of the deal. Since then the debt has been sold three times if memory serves. Each time I tell the Collector I will not pay out of principle. Today, the letter arrived from Maury Cobb Attorney at Law. I called an d spoke with a woman. Told her I'd consider the settlement amount; I did legitimately owe T-Mobile at one point, but after reading these comments not going to happen. Google search reveal this Maury guy is some newbie lawyer that bought the business from the other corrupt lawyer. Also, his citizenship is in question. Search says he is a foreigner. Money would probably leave the U.S. This is one debt I will NEVER pay. T-Mobile had its chance to do the honorable thing and work with me. Their the ones that broke their word, not me.

- AT replies to phantomSame exact thing happened to me today!! I was outraged they were DEMANDING (with attitude!) my social before they would even tell me who the hell they were. I said "You're kidding, right? Do what you want. I'm not giving you my social." That was that.
- Dan FurioI also have received multiple annoying calls. I had cancelled a contract with T mobile and never received any documentation regarding my account sent to collections. When i requested written documentation in regard to breakdown of amount owed they refused. They refused to send me documentation in regard to this collection. They were readily willing to ask for a credit card or debit number. I wanted to research before giving out any credit card number. I was threatened that the matter would go directly to the attorney as stalling. I hung up as the caller wanted my employment information. Is this a scam?

- PaulSome rude guy called and refused to say who he was calling from or why without my giving him my info, which I refused to give him since I had no idea who he was. After going back and forth for about 30 seconds he said his name was Mr. Brown and that was all the information that he needed to give me. Immediately hung up.
- Caller: Mr. Brown?
- lgot the call - everybody needs to fill out a complaint online to the Federal Trade Commission and they will do something about it if enough complaints are filed. www.ftc.gov

- EricThe same people from Richard M Breibart's law firm now work for Richard M Cobb using the same phone number with an office in the same build on the same floor best thing to do is record all calls from them give them no information get a fax number and/or a physical address and send them a Cease & Desist.
I'm no so sure that Breibart did not just start another company under a different last name.
Cobb is being sued in New York link below:

- TGSomething hang up robo calls 800 am and 12 pm everyday. Called and lady answered said needed full name and phone number, looked it up and said has nothing under that name. Ask about the matter and would not say. Still calls ever day.

- Tina W replies to phantomI receive calls too, but have never gotten any letters from them in the mail as to what this is regarding. A law firm or collection agency, if they are legit, will send a notice in the mail first. There is something fishy about this. Could be a scheme to steal identities. They need to reveal who they are and why they are calling.
- HectorI also received a call from the same law firm (Maury Cobb Law Firm) about a debt that I have with T-Mobile...at first, I was wondering whether I should actually trust this call considering it did sound like a legitimate call, but after coming across this thread of posts and reading, I will definitely not take any further action. I Of course I am willing to settle my debt, but not with a law firm whose reputation is being put in doubt.

- AnnoyedI am assuming it is for a true debt I owed Tmobile. But I had asked for time to figure out why Tmobile was charging me for 2.5 months and reconnection fees. I had been swindled into renewing a contract. Thought I was transferring lines to my father, so he could start a new contract with them. We moved where there was no reliable reception. For nearly 2yrs I asked to get out of that c i contract stating medical reasons and no reception in our home or town and that if the call dropped or fuzzed out one more time with 911, and my child or parents suffered/died that everyone of them would have hell to pay. They offered hot spot for 22 of those months. When I finally agreed to the a hotspot for home b/c we were using 911 more often. I let them know it still wasn't good enough b/c we were traveling rural areas to get to the Children's Hospitals more often and we had spotty reception for lengths of highway, along with the two Children's Hospital we use, spotty Tmobile reception. They told me Sorry it was ever offered as a solution b/c you cannot have it where you live, not compatible. I switched phone companies with 1month left on the contract. My mom kept using her phone. She got a msg to pay or phone will be shut off for the last month she used it. She spoke to someone, paid the bill in full. Was told no worries about phones being shut off b/c she paid. I didn't know I could have requested mine turned off while she decided which carrier to switch to. We had a 2 for $100 deal. She would pay a full month then me. Turns out when she called they charged us for two reconnection fees, one for each line. She got a new provider and transferred numbers, so they ended her line. Kept mine just sitting there inactive, but charging for the week. Got a bill for 2.5mos plus two reconnection when it should have been 1 month and partial month (1 week for her 2 weeks for me).
Told them of course I'll pay the month, but if they chose to shut of my line, then turn it back on without my permission, then the line should have been considered off and stayed off. They had plenty of notes and emails stating I did not want to line anyway. The contract had been over when they said it was shut off. No permission to turn it on. Verbal "It's okay you paid before they were shut off". Paid in full acct to avoid getting shut off. I paid half the month $50, told them I could do the remainder of the month with $10/mo and ask my mom who she spoke to about no reconnect fees. They said $10/mo wasn't enough and they had to keep the fee until I could prove otherwise. They knew I was never going back to them, they sold the debt before my mom called to straighten things out. That was the second or third time I was paid in full and they charged me for an extra month. Now this Yahoo is harassing my parents phone and got a hold of a private medical line established for a Toddler.- Caller: law office

- Kelly I reasonSwitched from Verizon to T-mobile over 2 months ago. With the promise they would pay early termination fee. Sent in All paperwork. Went to T-mobile she said it was "pending". Went in two days ago sat on phone with early termination advisor. She said they will expedite and rush it. But get this you get a credit card with the early termination fees amount? I thought I would be given a check to send them. I am not faulting Verizon. T-mobile told me none of this. I am sure there are people who spend it. Not everyone is responsible. Just want it taken care of and no T-Mobile I am not setting up a payment plan with the creditor. Never again. Got a nice Galaxy S 5.
