I have been receiving calls from this number EVERY SINGLE DAY for about the last 2 months!! I am completely fed up!! I want to know how to have this stopped because it is extremely frustrating. As others have stated heremy story is the same ,they do leave a voice mail every time because I don't pick up anymore and it is a recording saying they are from the law offices of Maury Cobb Attorney at Law . When I have picked up the call in the past they would hang up without saying anything at all, I called back a few times and asked to be taken off of their call list stating to them that they had the wrong number even though they had my name. The lady always said they would take me off of the call list for the name but yet here I am because clearly they haven't stopped!!! I AM FED UP!! I would honestly like to take a trip down to Alabama for the weekend and show up at their so called business. It is getting absolutely ridiculous!! I hate that others are going through the same thing, but I am also glad that there are other people who understand and feel the same way. If anyone has gotten them to stop in the past and knows how then PLEASE tell me your secret!!!

So far as I can find out, he's a legitimate debt collector.  There's some question as to whether or not his employees follow the proper FTC rules concerning contacting debtors.

The do engage in endless calling.  You might have to send them a cease and desist letter.  See my  entry

(661) 709-3386 and a different number called me leaving a message saying the same thing "Maury Cobb debt collector". I see a lot of comments relating to t mobile and a while back i would get calls for my sister regarding t mobile. Once they were even ready to take a payment over the phone and were even bidding. Like they said they would take $800 & then they were willing to settle on $500 . I just can't take these calls seriously reading all these complaints.

They are a debt collection attorney, and this is only one of hundreds of robo numbers they use.

The office of Maury Cobb calls me at least 4 to 5 times a day.  They never leave a message and hand up when I do answer.  When I called them back to find out who they were I was told because they use "robo" calling....I thought that was illegal.

Getting calls as debt collector from this no.  I do not have any unpaid debt.

I'd like to thank everyone for sharing their stories here. I was quite concerned about the calls I'd been receiving over the course of the past couple of weeks from the same area code as mine. Each one left a message to call 855-369-3667. I knew that I was caught up on my bills, but somewhere in the back of my mind, I wondered if Maury Cobb had an old medical bill or something. Nah...looks like it's just a scam.

My advice: I don't answer numbers I don't recognize, and I don't return phone calls from 800 numbers (especially scam debt collectors).

Mr. Cobb is an attorney and does run a debt collection operation.  Issues however seem to be related to the practices his employees use, and there are some pending FDCPA cases

T-Mobile did the same thing to us - made an arrangement and then sent it to collections.

Supposedly from a debt collector at Maury law firm (Note: I have no debt). Constantly called. I have blocked their number.

I just received a call from the same company stating that the call was from a debt collector. Did not disclose which one but urged me to  all back ASAP.

I've gotten calls on my msg machine, and have called them back and left a nasty message of my own, but apparently they don't look or listen to their messages.

I've blocked the calls over and over. They keep calling from a new number almost each time. And they always leave the same 12 second voicemail saying I owe money which I know for a fact I don't. I get a call almost every day other than over the weekend. I've even tried calling back and get nothing.

FYI: Good news and advice here re harassing calls from Maury Cobb of Alabama. Our course if you owe anyone money,  send their office a certified letter requesting they stop phoning you. Then if they don't stop, call a lawyer.

I got a call from this number, they left a message. They said they are calling from the office of Maury Cobb, a debt collector & to call this number back. I blocked the number.  Looking at my VM I noticed I have gotten calls every day from 313.879.4706, they leave this same message & same 877.369.3667 call back number. Haha, I blocked this number a long time ago. I owe no one.

Harassing phone calls.

I just started to get the same phone calls from 845 365-5398 they refuse to give me any informstion unless I give them my personal informsyion first. I do have an outstanding debt with T-Mobil. Someone incurred over a thousand dollars on my account with out my authorization I was told not to continue making payments on my account until they were finish with the investigation. However I was told that I was liable and that I should submit payment in full. They did not want work with me.
