Several calls

My husband received two voicemails from this number stating they are trying to determine the whereabouts of a person. It's odd because we recognize the last name but not the first name. It seems as though someone is going through credit references to track someone down who owes money, but we don't know anyone by that name, let alone who would use us as a credit reference. I searched the number elsewhere and it said it was an invalid/spoofed number, which means we will not call back if it is fraud. They do not state their organization's name on the message. They only state that they will use the full extent of the law to contact this person, a scare tactic of course. Does not sound reputable.

This is the second time we have contacted this number and told them we do not know the person they are attempting to contact.  How can I report these calls to appropriate agencies.

Keep calling leaving no message. I don't answer my phone from numbers I do not kno . So I decided to look up the number and found this.  Definitely will not answer now.

My wife's acquaintance, Jim (whom she has not seen in more than 7  years), got a call from this number.  While I was all but certain it was a scam, I called it to get their name and address.  While I got their name as "FMR," they flatly refused to give me their address unless I gave them all the details about who, when, and why they called!  Can we say "zombie debt collector?"

Also known as World Wide Processing Group LLC and they are located at 5817 South Park Ave, Hamburg NY 14075 and have a PO Box 2474 Blasdell NY 14219. The owners name is Frank Ungaro and the Director of Operations is Nick Curtis.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

You are welcome.  And why wait?  They will call back I can assure you of that.  If they don't they will sell your info to another criminal outfit and you will receive calls from then.

I have received calls from 2 numbers the other number is 877-395-7836 both saying the same thing, even called my daughter and my mother saying that by law they will use other references if they dont hear from them. I got a feeling its a scam and using old records to get money out of you. ...thanks I will report now....
