- Caller: 877 394 5975
- margaret rnThis number was given to me by a woman named Thamena who stated she works at Equifax info telephone call line. I reached her by dialing a number while I was trying to enroll in the free Premier ID plan. While trying to enroll I was not able to download the terms and conditions and kept getting a proxy erroe message. The woman stated the site was having problems and gave me this number to call. I can't help thinking Equifax doesn't really want to help consumers whose info was accessed illegally online. All and any attempts to deal with them are complicated and based on misinformation given related to contacting them such as phone numbers and addresses.
- not hippa replies to Sal RosenburghThey are not voilating your HIPPA rights that has only to do with medical information, however I understand your frustration as she is violating your privacy.

- person| 2 repliesI dont know what debt collector this is from but looking at your messages I see that its something called Advanta which I dont know anything about. My complaint is not only that they call and tell you that you owe money but Michael or whatever his name was LITERALLY YELLING at me telling me Im the person they are looking for and that I need to pay my bills, but it wasnt even for me. Idk what kind of tactics they learned but Im very suprised that they are still in business
- B-Edwards replies to personDebt scammer crooks don't really go out of business or out of style. The yelling and threats work on all too many people. You can try blocking the number. There is not much to be gained by talking to them. There is a post from BigA on page 17 that gives you some background on this outfit.
- BigA replies to personI had to go all the way back to posts from 2012 to reference one that says that this might be a place called Cardworks that was bought by some company named Advanta. I also referenced some of the newer posts and see that it is more likely an outfit named Cornerstone.

- Markus B.| 1 replyWhy do they keep calling when I tell them I'm not the person they're calling nor do I owe them anything.
- Caller: Smithfield
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to Markus B.Well, if you were the person they were looking for would you not be telling them the same thing? This is why you should always tell them via a certified, return receipt "not me" letter. That way you can prove you told them. However it looks like these might be criminals pretending to be debt collectors.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
