I got a call from a Rich Porter.........he started to leave a message and i picked up the phone.........he asked for me by full name and i said she was unavailable.......told me to give message......I said well who are you.......got real rude and said "she doesn't have to hide from me" Told him I would not give message and hu........he caLLed 3 seconds later.........I picked up the phone and hu..........was not home all day today but see no calls from them........I was just awarded 100 percent disabilit in Feb.......I have a little retail job for about 12-16 hrs a wk to help my depression and these a.......holes are making it worse...........you can't take my house in Florida............you cannot touch money from social security or 401K's so I would like to know where exactly they would like me to get money from..........i have gone back to eating Ramen Noodles.............my husband works but he pays for EVERYTHING.......so we are still broke........luckily we did a wise thing when we married and kept all of our accts seperate.....

There ARE scam debt collectors out there.  They manage to get reports on actual debts.
Doesn't matter if it is still outstanding or solved. They will try to get a credit card payment out of you (in some cases they don't ever pay the creditor & run off with your credit card information).
If they were hired by the debtor/creditor/entity you owe, they will already know your name, how to spell it, your address, and any other information needed including a copy of the statement & bill.  I had a call once that wanted me to fax HIM a copy of the bill he wanted to collect!!! Warning flag for sure.
When I get a call from any debt collector, I deal straight with the creditor (entity I actually owe).

I get 1-3 automated calls from this number every day for the past 2 weeks.  On the BUSINESS line.
No one with our company has banked with or has loans with PNC Bank (P&C? Bank)
I've called them back at the number they give (866-235-6330).  The woman was starting a schpeal then stopped quickly and changed to "How can I help you?"   I think this number is doing scam-ish things with more then one business/objective going on at a time.

I am on SS Disability. My credit card company has stopped calling me long ago.  This guy called my former father-inl-law (my husband died over 20 years ago) - unfortunately, my nosey daughter called them and gave them my number.  I  am not going to call them and am going to find their address and send them a letter about Tennessee'f Credit laws and tell them to stop calling me.  They discussed the situation with my daughter which is against the law.  I am going to copy the credit bureau and the Better Business Bureau too.

I checked the phone number on line and it is apparently a company called Credit Control and my caller said he was in Tampa, Florida.

They called trying to collect a debt from 2007. I told the guy, Statue of limitations in CA is 4 years. Well over 2 years late, so go kick rocks. Then hung up. Confirmed with my lawyer that they only have a certain amount of time to actually take you to court. These guys are tools and think your stupid enough to fall for there B.S>

i had this company call i file bankruptcy in 2002 and ass still call me [***] that old i got to point where just block number .. don't even say who they with  now . yes do call family member to .they got to point where don't answer phone they block number over 300 dollar i didnt charge now . which fault on dam name .

Someone is calling me from this number and asking me for part of my social security number. I don't have any bills outstanding.

The individual is trying to track me down through family.

I received a partly given message from LLC saying they were a debit collector. I find out they are calling for a company called Citi Bank.  They left me the number 866-38-8690. They did not leave there name or the debit collection agency they were collecting for. They left three beeps on my recorder. I will not call them back now that I know thanks to you all who have received the same phone call. This old bill was taken to a court of law & the case was dropped by Citi Bank themselves

Anthony does not work for Capitol One.  He works for Credit Control in Tampa FL.  These guys are a bunch of frauds. They all work for a guy name Joe DiBello who is a fraud himself.  Stole a bunch of money from charitys in Albany New York.

Got a call from 877-395-3541 looking for my ex wife. Said she listed me as an alternate contact. Haven't spoken to her in 15 years so I doubt that. Guy sounded dis-appointed when I told him that. Good luck finding that worthless ***** - bud. Hardy Harr!!!

Call From Debt Collector

This number popped up on my cable call center on tv.  That is odd because I do not have a land line.  I don't even know what number they are calling, because I do not have a phone line thru my cable company.  Keep calling my invisible landline, I love it that you are wasting so much of your life doing these meaningless jobs.  I owe and I know I owe and I pay what I owe to the people I know I owe.  

I keep getting phone calls on my cell phone from this company saying they are trying to collect a debt.  Any debts I had have been paid off for at least 3 years.  They also are calling my home phone, which I JUST GOT, and was never used during the time I had these debts

From company called Credit Control:  Received two calls at a college registration phone.  Messages left stated "this is not a sales call, please call 1-877-395-3541 at your earliest convenience".  Unfortunately, representative did not leave any other specific message, including a reference # or who the call was to go to.  Called # back at 7:20am EST.  VM on their phone stated to leave a message and "Thank you for calling Credit Control", which I assume is a creditor looking for someone.  We often get calls for students who have defaulted on a loan, and they leave the school's number as their contact. :(
