Received call from them @ 09:52 on 10/22/15.  They had my old address in Peoria Heights,IL.  I asked what the call concerned and obama's boy stammered and beat around the bush.  I asked if it concerned a bil and he said "yes".  I said "Keep the IL address, I reside in Arkansas and I'll not pay anything, Good bye".  I hung up.  If your ONLY income is Social Security, they cannot take it!!!  They cannot take your assets such as property or vehicles.  Tell them to "EAT IT!!!!!".

Thanks for your info Zipper.   I get sick of these bullies on the phone and one time I got caught by one and immediately sent them 300 dollars on a money card because I was scared.  After sending the money I took time to look them up and found that it was a scam.

This number called my DNC listed landline today at 1228 hours. I normally just ignore all the calls I get on my landline because they are almost invariably scam artists.  But it kept ringing and ringing so I finally picked up but said nothing.  An obnoxiously loud recording of a female voice came on saying something about they can call to the full extent of the law in trying to locate [so-and-so], yadda, yadda, yadda.  Oh, great.  Yet ANOTHER call from a debt collector looking for someone who doesn't live here.  I picked up and informed the guy that there was no one by that name living here and had NEVER lived here.  He asked if I knew the person.  I told him it MIGHT be a relative of a relative.  (It's a very common name so I'm not going to assume it really is the guy.)  I told him not to call again or he would be in violation of the law.  He then escalated by getting seriously obnoxious and told me that I was wrong and I shouldn't be wasting his time with "idle threats."  Apparently the idiot doesn't know the collection laws.  He is NOT allowed to call someone else about another person's debt more than once unless that individual requests that they call again, which is not going to happen.  He got more and more rude and I got more and more incensed with his rudeness until I finally snarled for him not to call again and to "F*&^ off!" and slammed the phone back down.  If he calls again, I WILL report him because the guy was beyond obnoxious.  The very fact that he was so pushy and rude tells me he's someone who operates in the grey or is operating outside of the law because honest, real, competent debt collectors know the law and conform to them.  This guy is just an anal sphincter.

Everyday between 12:15pm and 12:45pm I see this number show up on my Caller ID. The first couple of times I'd answer and then found it was a recorded message. I then stopped answering and the calls keep coming. No message left. This has been going on for months.

My post is in the exact reverse as everyone here.  Yes!  I defaulted a creditor. Not by choice but because the bank kept on charging me fees everytime I turned by back.  Return item fees, maintenance fees, service fees, overdraft fees, extended overdraft fees.  Screw them!  I told them  hundreds of times to close my account.  They refused because their own fees had taken the account into overdraft.  Bringing the negative balance to - $850.00. they wanted me to pay?   In their dreams.   Eventually a debt relief agency negotiated with CCI and settled  account for about 1/3. which I paid.

Now the bank claims i still owe them the entire ammount.  I tell bank that it was settled.  So I call CCI.. the incompetent guy agrees with me.  I settled the acxount.  Send me the paperwork via email.  He agrees.  I called back send me the paperwork via Fax and via email this time.  He agrees.  Paperwork never arrived.

I called back... Office was close... That %&^$^*  Cant wait for the morning.

Missed the call; no message was left.

I get calls and hang ups on my voicemail and my job which is not even legal. No Name, No reference number or company name.  I do not answer because I get hung up on. Could be scammers claiming to collect debts.  File a claim with the FDIC if anyone ever actually gets a company name and name of person calling. They have federal debt collection laws and fine any violaters if in fact this is not a scam. I also constantly have people calling for a Maria for the last three years on my number. They must think I am lying because it is not my name

Just got a call from them, but no voicemail.  The funny part is that this phone that they called is a burn phone.  I'm just using it because my main phone/number is out of service temporarily.  Just proves how big of a scam it is.

Need to figure out a way to BLOCK the telephone number that they are calling you from; when a different number begins, REPEAT THE SAME PROCESS. Keep blocking numbers of sleazy, dishonest "debt collectors," this will bring you some satisfaction.

I always find it much better to make them follow the law, and then when they don't, report and sue them.  That is a much more permanent way to handle things.  Of course if you have a lot a spaces on your call blocker, you could try your way.  I suppose it will work until you run out of empty spaces.

Received a call on my cellphone from this number today. I did not answer and they did not leave a message. A Google search reveals that this number belongs to a law firm specializing in stopping harassing calls.

No service to phone. No idea how call came in.
