Got a call to return to a 877 number and they said attorney. Thought it was odd but called number and then they said it was for "child support" when main menu came up. Knew my kids were in their 30's so no dice there. Yep did owe on this credit card bill but the company refused to give me a break on interest that soared to 29.4% and never answered any of my correspondence including a certified letter. Offered a compromise settlement that was never acknowledged. Next thing I knew they threw it to these folks from New Hampshire. In letters sent "commercial" with no return address heading except street and city with less than first class postage but bulk rate you begin to wonder. Think that they bought debt for pennies on the dollar. Other creditors worked with me and kept interest rate reasonable-highest now is 13.99% which am paying off. Others like GM card paid off and that was 15.99% at end but they did not about double the rate and they "talked" with me. Since extension to call back is in the 400 range they must have a ton of bill collectors at that location! Have offered compromise already but they want it all with the huge interest that has accrued -no job now, lost 401K, lost all stocks, etc. so what the "hell" do they want. You cannot get blood out of stone.  Bunch of vampires in my book....

Caller from this number was rude.  He didn't give name & was trying to reach my (adult) daughter, who was not here.

I said she 'wasn't available', and offered to take a message.

Caller started telling me he was from a "law firm", so I congratulated him and asked if there was a message.  He asked is she 'wasn't there or wasn't coming to the phone", and I repeated offer to take a message.

He then threatened to sue my WIFE, so I told him to go ahead & hung up on his nasty ass.

Reputable collections? What all you people don't know, they sell these debts back and forth and fill it with the IRS as tax write-off. End result, what was a debt of say 500 dollar becomes 50,000 for you. A flaw in Mr. Bush's [***] system. Fact is these are wolves, creeps that have no legal right to collect anything they bought the debt for pennies on the dollar and then claim to the IRA they are writing off 2000 dollars. That is illegal tax fraud!!! Guess who comes after you for the money?? The IRS. It is now time we attack these low life at their home offices and on the media. Time we crush these scumbags with out mercy. It is time for war.

Well, let's see what happens next.
You harass when you call more than once loosely?? Listen [***], you are not a reputable law firm. Your vultures who have no concept of law and justice just how to rips off people. Wanna debt me in front of a judge about that smartass? When you call, you harass. You call with purpose to upset, annoy, frighten and threat. That is harassment.
What we need to do is visit your office. May be harass you a bit into another practice. Be warned idiot, we the people are fed up and going to take action.

I just got a call from this guy and itw as for my stepson who bought a truck, paid faithful for 1st 2 years never missed a payment! Then He shattered his ankle at work ...YES AT WORK ... He had insurance on the loan thankfully  but didnt know when the insurance ended  and was never notified when it was running out! So they repossessed the truck ! I cosigned the truck  and the loan agency that gave us the loan are the very same agency that insured the loan  but every month for 2 years  they would call and harass me because their insurance company didnt make the payment that we paid them to make! and each month it would damage MY CREDIT! This poor kid has since been out of work for 4 years and 5-6 surgeries  so far on that ankle .We went to court to fight the repossession because it wasnt legally done(his mom ,my wife, works for an attorney),while in court it was brought to  the collectors attorney about whats been going on with his insurance department and what happened to my credit as a result  and how ironic was it that none of this was brought to their own attorneys  attention so they could work something out with this kid! The judge wasnt happy and we settled the case without the judge and their own attorney was disgusted with their own collectors practices!
So MR COLLECTOR ,IT WORKS BOTH WAYS ,HAD THE LOAN AGENCY DONE THEIR JOB AND PAID THE INSURANCE PAYMENTS,MY CREDIT WOULD STILL BE IMMACULATE!

So the law offices of Richard J Boudreau and Associates have been calling for years.  Said it was about an old Visa I had back in college.  My credit was immaculate until I got married and my husband screwed the pooch on our finances. So he set up payments with these [***] and they have literally got thousands out of us.  After two years I started to question if we still owed anything... never could get a response they just wanted their payments.  So we sent a cease to communicate letter, and halted payments then didn't get any response for months.  Now they are calling me 3-4 times a day from both the 877 and 866 number.  They won't even leave a message now.  I refuse to speak to them the debt is so old and has probably been paid over 3 fold.  I don't want to even think about how much money I have lost.  Should have stayed single and kept my immaculate credit!

your an [***]. some people just can't afford to pay all their bills on time. lots of good, hardworking people have lost their jobs, homes, etc and the last thing on their mind is paying that credit card bill. it's people like you who make people not want to answer their phones when a "law firm" calls HARRASSING (not using it lighly either) them. please keep your opinions and your 6-figure salary to yourself. Or better yet, use that 6-figure salary to help someone in need instead of rubbing it in a struggling family's face. Look at this site please and make sure you tell everyone one there about how you''' just sit back and collect your $$$: www.wishuponahero.com

I got a couple calls from some guy (honestly can't remember his name!) on Friday on behalf of Richard Budreau about credit card debt.  He was extremely rude and I have very little patience when someone talks to me crazy so I hung up.  He called my cell phone though and I have no idea how they got this number!!!  He just called my parent's house asking for me!! Same thing, pay what you owe!! He was beyond rude to my dad and me both!!! All I can say is I'm glad I looked this up!!!

Here is my question to Richard J. Boudreau and EVERY OTHER greedy, dishonest, unethical, self-serving low-life scumbag debt collection "lawyer"... Why did you WASTE 4 years of your life and tens of thousands of dollars to go to law school to become a lawyer, and then put that long and expensive law school education to work..."CHASING CREDIT CARDS"? What a pathetic bunch of "LOSERS" you all are! I've been told by several "real" lawyers that guys like you become debt collectors mainly because you couldn't "cut it" in the "REAL WORLD" of the legal profession! You DON'T NEED a law school education to become a debt collector, any "shmuck" with a little start-up capital can do that! You so-called "lawyers" who engage in debt collections are not even the "bottom of the barrel", you're buried somewhere UNDERNEATH the barrel! I have really enjoyed catching some of you [***] in FDCPA and FCCPA violations, I've been paid rather nicely by several of you in exchange for NOT filing a Bar Complaint and/or a secondary complaint with the Office of Financial Regulation or the F.T.C. How does it feel knowing that you've "sold out" your standard of ethics and integrity in exchange for your "fees"? One more thing...When you first started out "practicing" the law, did you ever think it would all wind up like this??!! Keep on calling me, I can USE THE MONEY!
