I received a call from Jennifer at the International Association of Chiropractors (similar to ICA, but not obviously!), she said we were to be included in the 2014 list of outstanding doctors, and I needed to call her back to answer a couple of questions. I didn't! I looked the number up and found it here! Thanks.

This is a total scam!! 877-447-8360 x 3220 was the number I was given to call back but the number that was displayed was 631-873-4584. Her name was Jennifer Russo. They claim to be the International Association of Healthcare Leadership. They call and tell you that you have been selected as a "Top nurse" in your area and that your profile will be displayed in some magazine with biographical information highlighting your success. THEN at the end of the call, they ask how you want to pay your admission fee of $800+ dollars in addition to a monthly fee. When you tell them you cant pay that kind of money, they keep dropping the price until they finally say they will waive the entrance fee but want to know how you will pay the monthly dues. They tell you what an honor it is to have this accomplishment and you owe it to yourself to enjoy it. I totally fell for it!

I got them down to a Gold membership  of $389 and the flight voucher valued at $550...that I know will never arrive in my "welcome packet" coming in the mail in 2-3 weeks. Can't believe I fell for this. Called my credit card company immediately and tried to call "Anthony Conning" back at his direct line 877-477-8360x2133 to cancel my membership/payment and of course it goes to voice mail both times. Should have clicked when he said they needed payment immediately due to publishing deadlines...lesson learned. Things like this make it hard for a nurse to not just became a bit more bitter at the world in general...

Their membership associate did finally call me back and in a very long winded ramble said that I had agreed to the "all sales are final" and that my information has already been published and certificate embossed and that my membership cannot be cancelled but they may waive the monthly fee...She states she will review the recording and get back to me...all sales are final was never stated and neither was a disclaimer that the conversation would be recorded...so I doubt it was...I will be dealing solely with my credit card company from now on.

I am in Australia and at first was a bit flattered to be approached. A woman called Tricia left a number of messages for me and eventually spoke to me today.   I started to get a bad feeling when the price kept being reduced when I prevaricated regarding payment and she kept saying I had to pay now as the book being published with my details is about to go to print. This is clearly a scam- do not go near it!

I recieved a very similar call today.I live in Australia.  The same lines used , initially very carer flattering but then it got down to high pressure selling and asking for credit card details. I am so glad I didn't cave into the relentless sales pitch. Beware!!

I am in Tasmania,Australia. I received a call from these scammers yesterday, whilst at work. Initially I was flattered, then as this woman went on and on I realised something wasn't right. Then when she mentioned having to pay a one off fee of almost $900 I realised it was a scam and closed down the phone call. She tried to speak to me again today,at work...I had to get our facility office receptionist to tell her I wasn't interested!! Scary part is how someone from the U.S. knew my name, where I worked, etc. please don't fall for this crap!

The same thing happened to me today (I live in Adelaide, Australia). The person identified themselves as Marie (Magria - spelling?) from the International Association of Healthcare Professionals. She had been trying to get a hold of me for the past 3 days, since I requested further information from a postcard (I think it was on LinkedIn). She left messages on my voicemail to ring her back on 02 8520 3537 (Ex 2109) (to an Aussie this looks like the call is coming from Sydney, Australia. I never got back to her but she finally got a hold of me her today (she had an American accent) so I asked her where she was calling from (Answer NY). But I didn't think much of that as they claim to be international.
Same deal as others, listing me as a kinesiologist in the 2014 edition of some book (listed as top one in Australia - mind you). I think that is when the alarm bells started going off - to make such a claim would be ludicrous. Finally!!! after repeated requests by me we got done to the membership fees (all in USD). Membership started from Diamond $789, Platinum $589, Gold $389 (+ extra $199 payment when Bio is complete). When I asked for her to send me info - she declined and she had to meet publishing deadline. I said that is a high investment to make over the phone without looking at some form of documentation (thank god my background is in government contracts & negotiations). When I kept declining, she offered me an Associate Membership for just $189 USD. Oh BTW, there is an ongoing fee of $34.95 per month with all membership levels. Then I asked her about the payment terms, she said credit card over the phone NOW (more alarm bells). During the conversation she played on stroking my ego and how great I was. I told her I was uncomfortable giving out my credit card details over the phone especially when a company has rings me. I think on after my 5th "NO" she then finally offered to sponsor me, so I wouldn't have to pay the upfront fee, and just pay the $34.95 monthly fee. Wow what a deal <insert sarcasm>. I put her on hold for 3-5 minutes (I told her I needed to workout the conversion rate and consult my marketing budget). Well not really, I just wanted to keep her hanging to make her phone bill higher (she was calling Australia). When I returned, I politely thanked her for her time and said "at this point in time, this is outside of my marketing budget, so I'm afraid I will have to decline your gracious offer". "Its not a no, but its also not a definite yes". "Thank you for your time and have a good day". I had to quickly hang up - as she was mid sentence. (BTW, I rang the number after the call and the ring tone sounded like international and no answer). These people are really good at what they do - they have clever sales scripts to meet every objection under the sun. Unfortnately, the sales people are just doing their job following the script, they are usually brain washed believing they are doing the right thing and helping others. In my view, the people at the top of this organisation (??) are driven by greed, acting without respect, honesty and integrity. They need to be stopped. My heart goes out to all those health care professional who have lost their money in this scam.

I didn't get a phone call instead I got a letter from International Association of Respiratory Therapists.  As all of you have mentioned, they claimed I was selected as a "Top Respiratory   Therapist" in my city.  Funny because I have never worked in this city or state I had renewed my license in another state in Dec.  I wonder if they can hack into the licensing boards and get our information because when I renewed, I had my license sent to me where I am vacationing and it's not the state where I practice.
I typed in the information they gave me for website and got "too many connections."
The letter listed a phone number at the bottom of the page in very small print so I decided to look them up on line.  Surprise !  All the information shows they are scammers.  Funny how they print P.S. "Remember, there's never a charge to be included in the IART and your entry into Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare is complimentary as well."
They list their address as 410 Park Avenue, 15th floor, New York, NY 10022
It is so sad that in this day and age almost everything you get by mail or phone call are scammers trying to get your money which you worked so hard for all your life and they just steal it right away from you.  I sincerely hope all of you get your money back and they get long prison sentences !

Got the call from 631-873-4584 same as others. Received the same thing about being put in the book, getting a plaque and certificate for being great. She also tried to get 800 dollars at first and as I kept saying no or I had to think about it, she dropped to the monthly fee of $35 to be in the membership. Didn't do it thanks to these comments.

I just got this same exact call from a VERY persistent Connie Oscar. In fact, she could 've won an Oscar from her performance because she had me until the membership prices started dropping quickly from $799.00 - $39.99. By that time I thought she was quite funny. I kept. telling her each time that I couldn't give her any credit card info due to the fact that I needed to discuss all financial issues with my husband first, which he was out of town until Sunday and had the major credit card on him, which was also true. She didn't care AT ALL!!! She kept practically pleading and lowering the price and I kept repeating the same thing to her very nicely. Then I tested her and asked her if I could call her right back because she had just given me her number and extension. I told her I needed to call my husband to talk to him then I'll her back.  She didn't want me to get off the phone..lol.. OMG She was crazy. She finally got pissed off and said something like, "I just can't lower the price for you any more and can't guarantee your membership so thank you...click (hung up)

I can't believe these people have been doing this for so long!!! We need to make people more aware of this scam!!

Almost no one on this board uses their real name.  Many of the frequent posters use the same name when they post, but its a fake name.

You are right.  Posting a real full name, address, phone number, or email address here is unwise.  Thieves and scammers read here or use bot programs to harvest contact information for potential victims.  That's true on any message board that is open to be read by anyone.
