- DCThey called and said I won an award for being the top nurse in my area. Of course they couldn't tell me who sponsored me, or what type of nursing I did. Then they started offering me plans: the diamond $789, Platinum $500, Gold $389, Associate $189, and so on. I should have known, an honour or award is something that doesn't need to be purchased.

- NurseAdvocateI can't believe that there are people out here scamming health care professionals. We already give up our weekends, holidays, and if i take call, a lot of my free time to be underpaid and often times overworked.
I received a letter from the "International Nurses Association" stating I was nominated to be included in their publication of Worldwide Leader in Healthcare.(Should've been my first clue: I never heard of the organization in m 17 years as a nurse; and I have no clue how my name would even be nominated). Curious, I went to the provided link and they called me a couple of days later. (My second clue: They called AFTER they got my telephone number from the "application" acceptance form.) A woman called from a New York number and left a message, with her name and extension. I still was a little leary, so I went online to their website and did some internet fishing but didn't find anything glaringly sneaky. I returned the call and asked for the representative who left a message (Second clue: The operator who forwarded my call asked for my name and the spelling before she would connect me. Was this to intercept any calls from unhappy people who were scammed?). After talking with a very pleasant, professional, complimentary young lady for about 20 minutes, she moved to the "hard press" sell. (I've listened to WAY TOO MANY timeshare sales pitches so this change raised a HUGE red flag for me). She talked about the "platinum", "gold" and finally the "associate membership costs, each level decreasing in price every time I said "No, thank you". Then, I proceeded to tell her to email me the information about the different membership levels so I could think it over. She stated that they can't do that because of publication deadlines and I'd have to secure my spot in the book now. Then, I asked when the publication deadline was and she answered "now". (As someone who has written articles in magazines, this was the last red flag I needed). So, I politely continued to decline her offers, each decreasing in price as the time passed. Finally, I can tell she is getting frustrated and she finally says " Well, you're going to lose your chance to be featured" and basically hangs up.
After this call and after reading these comments, I started digging for more information. I have found 5 websites, each claiming to be a professional association for different healthcare professionals. They all have one thing in common: the New York telephone number and the address is the same for all associations. I belong to 3 other professional organizations and I have NEVER seen 5 professional associations all working out of the same location......especially if its supposed to be international. Each profession has such varying scopes of practice, regulations recommendations, etc. It would be a HUGE undertaking to be a true professional association for ALL of these practices.

- Carol B, LAcI *almost* fell for this but thankfully my instincts won over ego. I wish I'd googled and landed here first.
"Cathy Hall" talked me into the base fee of $44.90 after I said
no way" to the gold, platinum, etc. She said I could cancel monthly fees that would start May 1st. I gave my cc info then 5 minutes after hanging up, changed my mind and called back, AND emailed.
LSS it took several calls and emails to get them to reverse the charges and I've notified my credit card company to block future charges.
If it wasn't so sickening, it'd be funny: I had to sign a waiver against future claims to get back $44.90 - who ever heard of that? And "Shannon Dawson" telling me, when I demanded immediate reversal of charges, that they were making an exception, as if no one ever asked them before (why'd they have the legal paperwork to protect themselves?), to everyone answering the phone with the long title instead of the acronym. I'm from New York, no one does that, they all move at the speed of light and don't have time to say "International blah blah blah blah blah"! Last but not least, the consistent artifice of each person as if they actually are a legitimate, international organization. Normally I feel a little sorry for people because they need the job, but in this case, no.- Caller: "IAHCP"

877-447-8360 ext.2252 saying she was from the worldwide leader of health care associated to http://www.inanurse.com/.
She asked for lots of money. I called back to cancel, she forward the call which only lead to an answering machine, which no one called me back SCAM- Caller: International Association of Health Care Professiona
- MDThis is a scam. Do not accept calls from them. The claim is that they are from the International Association of Psychiatrists. which is a made up entity. They are trying to get personal details to complete your application process.
- Caller: "International Association of Healthcare Providers" - not a real entity
- MDAlso, they play this game like they've been trying to reach you and they have exciting news... then they are annoyed at your inability to be able to help. It is disgusting
- SounfortunateI got scammed into paying for a membership. DON'T I REPEAT DON'T DO IT. They caught me at a weak moment and immediately after I talked to them I knew it was a bad idea. I don't know what I was thinking, and now I have to dispute it. Don't get yourself into this trouble. Don't let your guard down. Just hang up!!

- AMDReceived call today from a Jennifer Russo claiming to be from International Nurses Association saying they "received the application I submitted and everything looks good". She said they were going to feature me in their "publication" and that only 1-2% of nurses were chosen. I did not have the faintest idea what she was talking about! I never sent any kind of application to them. She said that someone most likely "nominated" me. Doubtful. So how did she get my cell #? Most likely it was passed on when applying to online nurses job sites. Told her I had no knowledge of this so I was not interested. She gave me the website to check them out..said she would call back...pretty sketchy info on the .com site. So I googled INA and found out they were a scam. When I had asked her if she had the name of the person who may have submitted my name, she could not tell me. I found that pretty suspicious. Red flags everywhere..take it from someone who has been scammed before! DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION!!!!

- DeannaThese people called me and kept buttering me up and trying to appeal to my ego. I asked where they got my info and they said linked in, so that site is already selling us to the devil. I google searched them while I was on the phone and saw what my gut instincts were telling me from the start. The only reason I even called them back was because I am working on a piece for publication and thought my co-author and research partner may have submitted to an organization that I was unaware of. So grateful I trusted my instincts.

- Too smart for BSI received a call from this number, but I do not answer unknown calls. I got a letter in the mail a few days later, but, I am a researcher and I did an internet search only to find unacceptable practices on the BBB and this site. If something is supposed to be free, I NEVER give my credit card information. I am a TX RN. Although, I am proud of my achievements, what makes me think an "international" organization knows who I am. FIRST CLUE THIS IS WAS A HOAX! This is a nice ego stroker; however, if one has not been published or received some sort of accolade for their achievements, smell the crap and hang up. I have seen where "new graduates" were getting these letters. As a new grad nurse, one has not done anything to deserve such honor. MOVE THE EGO AND RECOGNIZE THE BS... #cantscamme

- AnonymJust got a call from a pleasant lady named Marie. She began by introducing herself and immediately went into asking me questions about my nursing career. I hesitated as my red flag went up, and asked how I was contacted for this, as I don't remember applying for membership. She said that someone must have nominated me, but was unable to provide any information to this effect. When I asked about cost, she vaguely indicated that "there are levels of membership". I told her I'd need to check out the website first and then call her back, and she tried to insist that I talk to her as she would be the best source of information as I wouldn't be able to access the website without a username and password. While on the phone with her, I pulled up the website and was able to see plenty. I told her as much and she said "yes, but I have the best information available to you about the benefits of membership". I was able to politely end the call after a few attempts with rationale. I'm a member of a professional nursing association and have never received any calls like this requesting information and money for publications in which I could be featured for no particular reason. I strongly doubt this organization is able to boost professional networking. It seems like an overblown social media platform for nurses, but one that doesn't work very well.

- SR Houston, TxI also received a call from the International Nurses Association from Islip, NY 631-873-4584. It was exactly what the other nurses said - the price for the gold and platinum membership and the monthly fee. I asked if I could call back as I do not give credit card information to a cold call and she could not. I did not accept and am so glad after reading the other reviews. The requested membership fee is high and I wanted to research the organization more before investing.

- ShiraReceived a letter for INA claiming that I have been selected as a Top Nurse in my town and I just need to sign up to have my name published as such in their publication. Red flags went up immediately! I'm a nursing student and though I am proud of th things I have achieved I have not achieved remotely enough to be nominated as Top Nurse. So I did a Google search and everything about them seemed shady. Glad I didn't fall for this.
- Kai replies to IMGOMG. I just got the same call yesterday the lady's name is Maurren. Wanted to pay $700.00 for membership which of course I did not pay.

- Gregory Lynn TalcottI got a letter from these scam artists, which I discarded after reading about them on the web. I also checked out their website at some length. Some weeks later I got a voicemail from Joanne McGuire saying she wanted to discuss the application I had submitted. I have never submitted such an application. She called from 631-873-4584 and left a call back number of 877-447-8300. I am a practicing physician (and that's not my real name above), and I am very familiar with scams like this. Adding this to your job resume or CV is a big mistake. It's a way that some marginal doctors inflate their websites and biographies for commercial purposes. I apologize for not using my real name, as some readers disapprove, but it's not a good idea to post your name on the internet if you aren't willing to accept the consequences. Please don't flame me. I use 800notes often, and it's a great service.

- DRGJust got off the phone. Same as above. I actually had to be rude and hang up to stop the sales pitch. Got really suspicious when the price kept going down, refusal to send information via e-mail and refusal to call back because I needed to be with a patient. Watch out for these guys!
- Paula J KaleyI continue to get these calls that I will be featured in an internal publication about the top health care providers.
