I agree.  I never call anyone who doesn't leave a message.  After reading your posts I know I won't call this number back!

How do you block these crazy people?! They never leave a message like everyone else says, they call at all hours of the day AM/PM and on weekends too. Today they've called 12 times. To me, that seems like harrassment. Gettin' darn tired of it! Any suggestions?!

It's Allied interstate, a debt collecting agency, out of Jefferson City, MO.

I got tired of these harassing calls where no one is online when the phone is answered.  They called this morning before 6 AM.  I filed a complaint with both the FTC and the DoNotCall registry.

Returned from Vacation and had 5 calls from same number and the last call the individual was looking for a person with similar name but wrong spelling.when I inquired as to whom was I speaking too?, he kept asking for the person & when I asked what was the call in reference too ,Was told it was a personal matter.When I pursued the questioning he hung up.
Had no clue what they were looking for ?

these people call at all times of the day and night; they ask for somebody i don't know and refuse to quit calling me.... they also refuse to tell me who they are and what they want from this poor person.
at first i thought they were telemarketers but this information of "debt collectors" it is my sincere wish that any debt they try to collect remains out of their grubby, greedy hands.

They started calling a week ago, even called on Christmas Eve, no one ever talked. Called again this morning, no one there. So I called them, they are looking for someone named Sharon ... I told them to remove my number, they said the would, we shall see if they call back.

I have received several calls from this number over the past year, usually there is no one on the line. On 3/22/11 I received a call at 5:09AM from 1-800-214-8742 and at 5:11 from 602-321-1142 on my old cell phone and reported to the FTC. I got another phone and they started calling soon again. Today, 12/26/11 I received a call from 1800-214-8742 at 5:22AM, I did not answer the call and no message was left and I have reported the numer once again. I don't know what debt they are calling about or how they are getting my prepaid phone numbers

I just got another call from these annoying folk at 1-877-478-7645 concerning my mother's unpaid debt.  I've asked them numerous times not to call or cross reference me to her account.  I have nothing to do with it and we don't even live in the same household.  Now it's time for a class action law suit.  I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST!

We are going to a VOIP with our ISP as these fools call five or six times a day looking for the idiots that had our number before we did. We will be able to selectively block numbers and or force them to leave a message before it even rings here. Complete idiots... seems like to me they hire from the same pool of idiots as the TSA.

Filing a suit against them. I have a cease and desist order that was verified by the Ohio State Attorney General back in October and just received 2 phone calls from them. Obviously their company does not care! I will not be seeking legal action against them!

I usually only answer the phone for numbers I recognize.  This one shows up a lot during the day on caller ID.  This Sunday morning I was really irritated that they were calling so early.  It took a good minute or more of me saying "HELLO?" before "Jose" responded.  I simply interrogated him first.  I suspected he was a debt collector as I have received these calls before....BUT we have NEVER been delinquent in any payments of any kind, so why do they call?  Because apparently they will call anyone and everyone to collect...we have gotten calls looking for my husband's roommates from 20 years ago, my neighbor's son-in-law who lived with them for a short while (?!?!?!).  Even basic internet searches will show you people "affiliated" with you, but I guess paid for databases are even more robust.

I don't doubt that they harass those who they are trying to collect from and I feel for those people who are having a tough time financially and trying to work it out.  BUT I really think it is harassment when I'm getting calls constantly for people I'm not responsible for financially.

They call my grandpa every day starting at 8am and don't quit untill 9pm. They won't answer so I called them back and they said they were with LA Enterprise. They were convinced they wanted my grandpa untill they realized they were looking for another James. Maybe they will stop calling now. And they are rude too!

I have been getting calls from this number - numerous times a day and never any voicemails.  I looked up online to see who it is form other who posted.  I pulled up my free credit report on www.annualcreditreport.com and I do not have any accounts placed with this company.  As far as I am concerned it is a scam.

who is calling from this number thay are hiding behine toll free number thay are not brave to show who thay are. we need to have a system to have this stoped.

Just open-up a new cell phone line, and received numerous calls from this company.  Called back, they ID'ed themselves as ALLIED INTERSTATE.  Sounded like some debt collector. WHY THESE DEBT COLLECTOR WON'T JUST ID THEMSELVES AS who they are, instead they keep saying "we are contacting you regarding a personal matter." Gee...

This number just called my house 4 times in 3 minutes. I answered it the 4th time they called and said "Stop calling my house or I am reporting you for harassment" and hung up on them. I didn't even give them a chance to any anything. I haven't heard back from them since.

I get 5-6 calls a day form this number on my landline but only answer my cell.
