- SSThey are a collection agency collecting for Care Credit/GE Money. They don't say who they are or whatever. They asked me if I was who they were calling. I said Yes. And then I asked them who they were calling from? They asked me for my SSN and DOB. I told them I wasn't verifying that information unless they told me who they were collecting for. Then they asked me to verify my address. I said "Again, I'm not giving you that information until you tell me the account you are calling about." They made me so mad, I hung up on them.

- michaeli have gotten at least 100 calls from these folks and the same story as everyone else is reporting. because they will not stop calling, whether i ignore the call or not, i am now threatening them with everything short of anything physical - even telling the callers they personally will be hauled into a court - no matter what country they are calling from...
i wish i knew some other way to push them into the ocean...- Caller: allied ... llc
- magrifPlease stop these calls! They call 7 days a week on the hour. If there is a legitimate reason, please send it in writing. If you're a legitimate bill collector and you have my phone number, you also have my address. If not, too bad for you! I have nothing to hide, I pay my bills. Leave me alone.

- George IIITo resolve Federal Trade Commission charges, one of the nation’s largest debt collectors will pay $1.75 million for allegedly making repeated telephone calls to collect from the wrong person, to collect the wrong amount, or both. The settlement is the second largest civil penalty obtained by the FTC in a debt collection case.
“Debt collectors had better make sure their information is accurate, or they could end up paying a big penalty,” said David Vladeck, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “There is no excuse for trying to collect debt from someone if you can’t confirm that they actually owe it.”
According to the FTC’s complaint, between 2006 and at least 2008, Allied Interstate, Inc. continued collection efforts even after consumers told the company they did not owe the debt, without verifying the accuracy of the disputed information. Allied is a Minnesota corporation that works out of offices in the United States, Canada, India, and the Philippines. The company also allegedly made improper harassing phone calls to consumers, using abusive language or calling many times a day for weeks or months, sometimes hanging up when the calls were answered. In addition, the complaint charges that Allied made repeat calls to third parties seeking to locate a consumer, revealed alleged debts to third parties without the consumers’ consent or court permission, and threatened legal action against consumers it did not intend to take. The complaint alleges that these practices violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act.- Caller: Allied
- FED UP TO THE GILLSThis number has called my mother 11 times so far today. There is no name attached to the number, and they never leave a message.

- William replies to Kinda Concernedit is unprofessional for them to ask for your personal information over the phone.. NEVER give Social Security number or account number to anyone over the phone unless it is a company you called at a number you know belongs to that company.. and even then I would not give SS.
- ccrI have been receiving these calls for several weeks now. I googled the number and found this thread today because they have called my phone 6 times within a 2 minute period today. They usually call 5-7 times a day beginning around 8 a.m. all the way up to as late as 11:00 p.m. They have never left a message, but c'mon 6 times in 2 minutes - really? From previous posts I guess that they are a debt collector of some sort, but I am unsure for what.

- SherriThis number has been repeatedly called my husband in the past couple of days. They refuse to identify themselves or say why they are calling just that they want him to pay them without even knowing who he is. He hasn't had this number for a very long time, and he doesn't have any bills in collection... It's so annoying!

- judyI get these calls too. I have this little machine you can press the button and it sounds like a fax machine. When they call that is what they hear and they hang up. Funny as hell. I hear one guy go oh S*** its an fax machine. LOL. Works have not had calls from any of those people since.

- equally annoyed replies to Joythe reason that they seem to hang up and the calls happen so often are because it is a computer doing the calling to see if you are home. That is also why there are no messages left. They won't tell you this, but your name is in a loop where the computer randomly calls and if an agent is available to talk to you then it will connect you but if the agent doesn't answer in time, then it disconnects the call on their end. It is annoying. I do have a debt, I have talked to them and told them what is going on and why I can't pay it at this time. I have assured them that I will but their 15 calls per day... is wrong. Now, I have a setting on my phone that directs that number to my voicemail automatically. It doesn't even ring my phone anymore. They don't leave a message so the only way I know they call is to view my recent calls list. I saved their numbers in my contact list under DO NOT ANSWER. When I can take care of them I will, but until then, you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip no matter how many times you call and think you are harrassing me... at least that is how I view them now. Good luck Joy and I hope this helps some.
- equally annoyed replies to JayI did the same thing. If they want me to know why they are calling.. they can leave a message. My phone never rings from them anymore. Harrassment stopped.
